That sounds an amazing adventure LL . When do you go ? We'll no doubt be hugging the hotties trying to summon up our inner Hygge!
Maybe one day we'll learn the story behind the Jolly Dollies name . I've no idea why it summons up that image but it does every time .
Wishing you a restful night with hopefully no after effects from the deep massage .

I set sail next Monday from Tilbury ..another plus because I loathe flying.
Yes I think I'll sleep well.
During the "caring years" and the early days of widowhood my sleep patterns were dire but they seem to have settled now and although my muscles can be sore during the day, I am very lucky in that pain doesn't normally keep me awake. I sleep better now than I have done in years.0 -
It sounds to me as though the never ending stress , anxiety , exhaustion and grief of the past years is leaving you . All the times you had to fight for the correct treatment for your husband , the meals you skipped and running on adrenaline until that was exhausted too took a massive toll .
I did a gentle form of Hatha Yoga which helped relax and calm my mind , I also did Pilates . My favourite was Tai Chi but fibro fog would make it quite hard to learn and remember the moves :rotfl:
I'm wondering if you have taken over your son's house . I know you've been doing some revamping but you hadn't mentioned moving .
Well to the Drs early tomorrow so I'll say goodnight .

Yes I decided to buy my sons house in the end. It made sense. I couldn't find anything I liked. He met his princess and moved in with her.
Next year they will then sell hers and buy a larger family home together.
It was a nice easy transaction and we saved a fortune in fees.
I like it here, the neighbours are lovely, it's a nice quiet street and the house itself is just about finished. It won't be my forever house.......very steep staircase, steep steps to the door, so it won't see me into old age but for now it's comfortable.
Yes I had 12 years of unremitting stress and grief. It takes its toll. I felt and looked awful but I can see a huge difference when I look in the mirror to how I was six months ago. In the last couple of weeks several people have commented that I look better. And without being conceited it's true, the haggard look is gone, my skin is a better colour and texture and my eyes look less tired. My posture has improved and even my hair seems a bit thicker.
I'm getting there.
Good luck with the doctors tomorrow.0 -
I was exhausted after yesterday. I worked out that I had walked for about 2 hours yesterday in all after getting lost at first. Last night I had a hot salt bath and went to bed before 8pm.:Dpollyanna_26 wrote: »BTW Wednesday I always have Aloe Vera Gel in the cupboard it's really good on burns and all kinds of other things . I tried the juice a few times but it wasn't for me . No harm in trying . I didn't like the taste .
I tried the aloe vera juice in water this morning and my stomach has been making unholy noises.:o It is meant to help with digestion. I didn't notice anything else but maybe it was because I only had a light dinner last night and I was hungry this morning.lessonlearned wrote: »
Yes I'm going on a cruise, 12 nights, Amsterdam, La Pallice (France), Bilbao, Lisbon, Gibraltar and La Corunna. I'm looking forward to it. I only booked it last week, it was a last minute bargain...:D. Hoping to catch a couple of art museums, maybe the Van Gogh in Amsterdam and the Guggenheim in Bilbao.
Sounds lovely!:)lessonlearned wrote: »I can see a huge difference when I look in the mirror to how I was six months ago. In the last couple of weeks several people have commented that I look better. That is great.xxx0 -
Oh yes, I'm going to start taking 5-HTP tablets tonight.
I bought them a while back but I read that I wasn't supposed to take them at the same time as anti-deps as it would be too much serotonin and it can be dangerous. It's been two months since I stopped taking Amitriptyline so I think it should be okay to take now.
After speaking to the therapist yesterday I think I am going to brush up on my DBT skills as well. I will look at the DBT Self Help website and a few other places to refresh my memory.Have also been looking at CBD oil, the legal cannabis oil. My local health store is now selling it, but it's quite dear
I have looked at the CBD oil too and the expense put me off. :pIf you try it tell me what you think.:)2025 GOALS

CBD oil......I would also be most interested this, well to be honest interested in anything if it works.
I was reading about the actor Patrick Stewart the other day. Apparently he swears by it.0 -
Good morning everyone, life has been extremely bitty for a couple of weeks so I have been reading along and sending healing/positive thought, but not putting fingers to keyboard:(
Polly, I hope that all runs smoothly for appointment this morning,
LL, have a great holiday, we are hoping that I will be fit enough next Spring to try another cruise, everything is just so easy and well organised. Look forward to your thoughts of the pain pen thingy please.
Wednesday, I hope that you have chance to rest up today after your tiring day yesterday. I tried Aloe Vera Juice a long time ago when I was much younger and fairly healthy, but I recall that for many people it has quite "a strong cleansing effect" and having IBS quite badly now I would not risk it, or if I did I would start very gently. One of my supplier's other customers was an airline pilot and had not been aware of the possible effect and had to stop taking it pretty quickly as he needed to be up front and not in the loo:eek::eek:
Cranky, I hope that you are healing and in less discomfort now.
Candygirl, I hope that the perskindol works for you, I almost ordered some, but find I break out in rashes after using tiger balm, deep heat, the freeze spray and Flexiseq, so decided to hold back, I seem to be OK with Weleda and Nelson's Arnica products and Voltatol Emugel ATM (crossed fingers emoticon).
Lamewolf, I love hearing about your canine guests, I too think that Staffies are gorgeous and make a point in talking to them/their owners when out and about, I guess that many people think that I am nuts as I speak to most dogs (and their owners, but some people who have dogs, but are not as dog crackers as me give me such odd looks:rotfl:)
Prinzessilein. your snowmen sound really cute, I need to try knitting again to stop my hands seizing up, I cast on a circular hat, but got in a bit of a mess with the rib, so need to rip it back and start again. I have been going to knit & natter and just doing the nattering for the past few weeks:(
Sorry this has turned into a marathon, so will find some breakfast and catch back later.
Hugs and lots of spoons to those who need some:DThe best thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time. (Abraham Lincoln)0 -

You're very welcome hun 😀
Not asking medical advice here, but has anyone found Voltarol gel good for OA? I currently use deep heat, but need sumut stronger.Have also been looking at CBD oil, the legal cannabis oil. My local health store is now selling it, but it's quite dear
LW , I am currently sitting under 18kg Bonnie. She is very long legged , but solid, like a ball of pure muscle :eek:Her Brother Chuck is huuuuuuge :rotfl:
Healing (((huggles))) n spoons to all ❤Lamewolf, I love hearing about your canine guests, I too think that Staffies are gorgeous and make a point in talking to them/their owners when out and about, I guess that many people think that I am nuts as I speak to most dogs (and their owners, but some people who have dogs, but are not as dog crackers as me give me such odd looks:rotfl:)I know a lot of the local dogs by name of course; and can recognise them from quite a distance away. Interestingly (or not) I don't often recognise people - even people I've known for years - until they speak and identify themselves. It's extremely embarrassing sometimes, I have to bluff my way through someone stopping us in the city centre and speaking to us (obviously someone we know) and then afterwards having to say to Mr LW "Who in the sam hell was that??"
Wednesday I'm pleased the appointment was what you wanted; it sounds like you'll get some good benefit - do you have to high-tail it into London every week?If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
