Glad to read that the meet/greet was survived!0

I just looked at the new October Fibro magazine and it has some questions answered by Ginevra Liptan. She wrote the first book I read about fibro, The Fibro Manual.:)
I woke up sweating last night for the first time in a while so I'm going to swap taking the 5-HTP at night and have it in the morning after breakfast instead in case that was the reason for the sweats.
My husband has an Occ Health meeting with his work Friday afternoon which he is a bit nervous about. I'm been trying not to think what will happen if he loses his job because of all the time he has had to have off because of his illness.:(0 -
Wednesday I shall keep everything crossable crossed for a good meeting for your DH.
My anxiety has kicked in badly again; I got an unexpected phone call yesterday morning (just before the meet'n'greet) and it's got me all in a lather.
Back story - I was with a particular dogsitting company for seven years, till the franchise closed down; now I'm with another one. Lets call the first one Company A and the current one Company B for ease, shall we?
OK - I was with Company A from July 2009 to August 2016. Then the franchise closed, as the franchisee had a bad health scare and needed to retire immediately and was unable to find a buyer for the franchise, leaving me with four bookings which I had no choice but to do freelance (I couldn't let the dogs down). After that, I signed up with Company B as I didn't like working freelance (I'm rubbish at self-promotion, and didn't want all the admin to have to do). I've been with Company B since November 2016, and am still with them; and in fact I like working with them, they have good business methods, and I've had some lovely dogs through them.
Yesterday I got a call from the NEW franchisee of Company A asking if I wanted to do dog-sitting for them again; it seems she's been handed the previous franchisee's list of dog-sitters and left to get on with it. Of course I had to say sorry, I've joined another company.
But the poor woman sounded so disappointed; I reckon she's getting a "no" from all the old dog-sitters from Company A because it's been a whole year with no franchise in this area; and those who wanted to continue will, like me, have found other means to do so.
Now I KNOW I've done nothing wrong, and I couldn't be expected to sit on my thumbs in the hope that someone would take on the franchise, but still, I can't stop it going round and round in my mind; I just feel sorry for the new Company A franchisee.
I need a smack upside the head, I reckon! :doh:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW, you have to do what's right for you, just like she did initially

LW I'm going to administer a quick smack upside the head . The situation with the new owner of Company A is not your problem . A lot of time has elapsed and a franchise cannot remain viable while in transition . If I was the new holder of the franchise i would have done a lot of research into what the situation was for clients and carers before committing to taking over .
We have a polish friend and have adopted the "Not my circus , not my monkey " saying from her homeland . It does help to sort between worth fretting or not .
Wednesday Wishing your husband a good outcome tomorrow .
Prinzess That's inspired thinking on the colour coded sticks . This past year awareness of both visible and invisible physical and mental health has suddenly stepped up a notch . Still a long way to go but slowly being head . In the absence of a visual clue so far DD has perfected an extreme version of the Paddington hard stare and what we call the " you really don't want to go there " face.
Hope you enjoyed meeting your friend Pauline .
Candy have you been to get your bloods done ? I will nag until you do it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Too many names as LW said so hope things are ok for you all .
I'm feeling less dizzy than I was , still a bit weak and wobbly . I think it was more my body deciding I needed to stop for a while . It's happened a few times when I've just kept on through necessity . So far it seems to happen when there is break of a couple of days due . As I need to go out tomorrow hopefully all will better by then.
I made a load of Feisty soup with a few alterations and am plodding on with the ginger tea and after picking some mint from the garden am now enjoying that . I'll know I'm better when I can bear the smell of my Y Tea .
Hope things are going ok Cranky. Thank goodness for good healthcare .
I need to make a list as I've just used the last fresh ginger from the freezer and need to get some additional garlic and chillies as there wont be enough HG to see us through until next year .
Take care all . I trust the lift is still working AOT .
pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.0 -
Thanks Polly. The lift is still working (I hope) but haven't checked this week as legs are DEFINITELY NOT at present!Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0

Thanks Polly yes I know it's "Not my circus, not my monkey" (I like that one, I must remember it) but as I'm sure you know, they don't call it "anxiety disorder" for nothing.
Still, I've got the designs done for the first two birthdays in 2018 that I need to do cards for, and started on my 2019 calendar. Yes, you did read right, 2019. I've already printed out the 2018 one, and I've done the template for 2019 and the first three months' pictures - the rest will follow as I take them.
I still need to do a birthday card for Mr LW whose birthday is in December, but I need himto be elsewhere while I work on it.
AOT I hope the ol' leggies start working better.
Best get off my fat a$$ - Mr LW wants gammon-style Qu0rn with roasties for dins.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I like that "Not my circus, not my monkey". Think will have to try and remember it.
Oh you do sound organised LW. I somehow stumble from day to day not even sure what year am in.
My legs are always troublesome but sometimes more so than others - like now. Not been across doors all week because of the pain in them. Shuffling around as if were made of concrete.
But it WILL improve.eventually.Use it up, Wear it out, Make it do, Do without.0 -
I finished the fibro book by Dr Chris Jenner last night, he is from the London Pain Clinic. I found myself nodding along to a lot of the stuff in there.
He says that two of the best massages to get for fibro pain are Swedish and deep tissue. I think a couple of people on here said that they have them? I might ask my GP again before I see how much it is to go private. I'm starting to get annoyed that I haven't been offered more help!
I think I am just in a bad mood as I have another cold sore. I am trying to eat healthily, taking lots of supplements and sleeping a lot better so why am I getting them again? Grr.2025 GOALS

Wednesday......I get Swedish or deep tissues massages. I have two or three ladies I use - all excellent and all properly trained Physio therapists and experts in sports and remedial massage. I generally pay between £30 to £40.
After my car crash I did go to one Physio who does a package, you pay for a course of treatments in advance and you get a discount. They worked out at around £25 a session. She tends to concentrate on acute injuries rather than long term problems like Fibro. So once she had done all she could she referred me to another lady for my fibro.
She works from a spa Type salon which has various offers and loyalty schemes. I was thinking of asking her if she would offer a discount if I paid for a block of treatments in advance.
The third one works out of a sports centre. She also very good but she is a bit “robust” sometimes. I think she is used to working on our local footballers and cricket teams who are a bit less wimpy than me. She makes my eyes water sometimes. :rotfl: she’s helping me with my knee injury.
Full on Swedish massage can be a bit painful if your muscles are very badly knotted. I have been known to wimp out and ask for a Thai or Balinese massage if I’m feeling delicate.
When my husband died I had a massive fibro flare up. My poor body felt like I had been hit by a train and there were times I could hardly crawl out of bed. Some days I had to crawl up and down the stairs.
I knew I needed several massages in fairly short succession to get me on my feet again but could hardly bear to be touched. I had to have two a week. So rather than Swedish they gave me some very gentle Thai massages and also used hot stones.
I do try and self massage my legs to try and keep the muscles from knotting too badly. I do it after My salt baths when the muscles are still warm. I have bought a massage stick to reach the areas I can’t really manage, my buttocks and backs of my thighs. (yes you might laugh but my glutes get terribly painful).
Wednesday.....I understand your frustrations regarding the lack of help. However, I think a lot of doctors just don’t get fibro and even with good old regular arthritis etc NHS provision is patchy at best.
NHS provision for Physio where I live is absolutely dire so I am afraid “going private” is the only option. Totally unfair on those who cannot self fund I admit but I am just grateful i can afford to buy the help I need.
I am by no means wealthy but I budget carefully and am prepared to make sacrifices so that I can fund my treatments and health care.0
