Two pots on the front steps planted up with daffs and snowdrops and I'd do a bit more planting but I've run out of compost. Grr.

Mostly the house seems to be sort of under control as long as I don't look too hard at anything. I think I'll take my specs off.
    Better is good enough.

Sooooo... I actually have more than one  1 downstairs loo, the family bathroom and a full en-suite

Not sure I'm going to get through all 3 today as I have JUST walked in the door after a day trip to Newport and Cardiff... Newport was work meeting, Cardiff was because I knew there was a danish bakery there and frankly a 20 mile round trip was worth it for pastries and rye bread We shan't linger on how much I spent  That said most of what I bought will freeze and it's 250 miles to go back when I run out or do without for another 5 years - so not feeling very guilty I'm afraid! :p

    Whimsical Wednesday ~ Barnacled Bathroom

    15 minutes...
    Empty bins
Clear all empty bottles/toothpaste tubes etc..
    Change flannels/sponges

    30 minutes to spare..
Clean 3 sinks and 2 baths
    Shine the taps
Clear floor of any stuff that shouldn't be there

    Got an hour...
    Clean both showers
    Hoover/mop floor
[STRIKE]Clear out the medicine cabinet[/STRIKE] Did this at the weekend - go me!
[STRIKE]Replace those manky towels for lovely fresh towels[/STRIKE]. did this monday
    Clean windowsill

    Extra challenge:
    Clean windows

Tonight I WILL find time to get in my craft room! I need to start making bits to sell for my £300 challenge and today at least my Flying might suffer a little as a result (that and 250+ miles knackers me out!)

Same bathrooms here Mrs Tinks and when there are boys in the house  lol

I've only just tidied the kitchen after dinner as we had to whizz out to football. DS did really well tonight and all the boys (7yr olds) were just wild, it was hilarious - think most of them went back to school today so it was a very hyper training session with lots of squealing and giggling. Very entertaining. Hopefully they will calm down before their first match on Sunday.

Both kids were sweaty so I stood them in the big bath and rinsed them down with a soapy sponge before bed - will do myself too I think, lol.

I'm not doing any more tonight, but I'd really like to reclaim my dining room tomorrow...and I need to sort a babysitter for college induction evening.

Well DD put paid to any plans I had to get any Flying done

When asked what she wanted 3 times she didn't know... then she wanted to go out to play and was told she needed dinner - not hungry.

OK... if you don't have dinner there won't be any later on! Yeah yeah yeah. Cue 7:50 - time for bed, she comes home and is STARVING! Nope - bed. Follow with 20 minutes of tantrum, tears and stomping.

Told she can have a banana or nothing. Now I'm the horrible mum - daddy has asked if he can give her toast... NO!!!!:mad::mad:

She will NOT waste away - she had tea at the child minders, a hot meal at school and breakfast as well as snacks. Missing dinner will teach her that I'm not her blooming chef! I may concede to cook what she would like, but I'm not on call. Tonight for the first time in her 7 1/2 years she will go to bed hungry - and yes I feel bad but I'm not budging!

Husbeast has gone up with a banana to try and appease the dragon - she slammed her bedroom door at me 5 minutes ago so I'm a little miffed at him for pandering to her so soon.

Hohum - I have wine and danish pastry from a danish bakery... :p

  • In work all day, then came back and made a start brush painting round the corners of the ceiling, took the wardrobe pelmet down so I don't get emulsion on that, been b&q got the roller and more gloss. So tomorrow I'm hoping to get all the emulsion done either side of work. Have had tea now and nipped shops to pick some stuff up having 1/2 hour with my book and a cuppa.

Home again after a lovely holiday.
Been to SW weigh-in and have gained 5.5 lb this week  - but not surprising, considering the number of scones that we have eaten!
(DH skived off SW with the feeble excuse that tonight was the first night of his evening class in BSL signing.)
Been shopping and bought sensible food that is on SW plan.
Unpacked and put away clean clothes.
Done WM x3 of about 6.
    Checked finances.
Checked emails and printed out attachments.
Watched GBBO back to front (2nd half from 8.30, then the first half on iPlayer when DH came home just after 9.00)
Started writing a to-do list for the rest of the week: not expecting to do a lot of flying (probably just Level 1 for each day), but we came back to a tidy house, and I need to spend some serious time working my way through the files I've been sent re my college course - not to mention reading half a dozen books!

Hope you enjoyed your Danish pastry and wine, Mrs Tinks. Sometimes children have to learn the hard way and I am sure your DD will survive until breakfast time.
    Your LR looks great, Bossy.
Well done to people who've found work.
Hope nicki's Zack and LW's lodger appreciate all the grooming!
Greenbee, it's great to hear you sounding so happy in your new home. Hope you gets lots of lovely visitors x
HB, please come and fill my pots for me in exchange for my spare bag of compost!

See you all in the morning - good night all.

Not sure I want visitors :) They seem to involve a LOT of hard work...

Have had a very frustrating evening's work (I work late evenings on Wednesdays and get the mornings free) and now need to wind down before getting some sleep.

I managed to finish clearing my stream and do the mowing in the gap between afternoon and evening work. And have made a vague start on the hall... although I'm not sure I need to polish my knickers
