I thought that you wrote that you weren't coming back.

Again you concede that there is little difference in the Y product, but yet you wrote paragraph after paragraph as to why someone would pay £100 more for a less flexible ticket, smaller luggage allowance etc..
Seems that you are making a habit of simply missing the point and then going on and on...

Much better thank you, now I don't bother to read those arduous posts of yours.

I thought you might be missing me, but you were also suggesting earlier that this thread had run its course - but it is you who keeps prolonging it!

Again, there very little different in the Y product offered by the majority of airlines, but the product alone, or indeed the price (as I keep trying to drum into you) may not be a deciding factor in what airline someone may choose - times, routings, frequency, handling IRROPS, FF benefits all need to be considered. But you already know that.

The Finnair flight (as I stipulated) was not a bargain in my eyes, but for someone else, paying the extra hundred quid for convenience or the other factors listed above, that flight and price may be ideal for them.

Cheapest may not be the best for a given individuals circumstances, principles or preferences.

I know of many people who will NOT fly a Middle East Airline out of principles relating to human and employment rights (or lack of) in many of the ME nations - irrespective of how good the service or the price - and I have to respect them for that stance.

I really hope you enjoy your bargain flight but you have to respect those who are willing to pay a little extra to suit their individual needs or principles - but you are just obsessed with why someone should pay extra. I have given many valid reasons, but you just seem unable to absorb.

Oh and apologies to Voyager 2002 - I was referring to the Ethiopian Airlines hijacking and forgot about the Yemenia incident.

You really need to stop. Another random list without dealing with the specifics.

None of these things, apart from not wanting to fly with an ME airline on principle are an issue in this case....when it comes to paying £100 more for that particular airline and fare.

You claimed that you weren't coming back to this thread, but here you are again, going on and on about everything, but this particular pairing.

This website is dedicated to spending as little as possible for the same product.

So if someone claims that an indirect flight to Asia is good value, when in fact it is much the same price as a direct flight with THAI and EVA, they have some explaining to do.
richardw has failed to do that. That thread is a fail and you are going down with it.

Have you been on a narrow seat B787 or B777 in economy FunTime?

You are referring to Qatar Airways flights from BHX. What has this to do with our discussion?

Are you suggesting that THAI or EVA or OMAN AIR run those on the aforementioned routes from London?
Come on richardw, you are really scrabbling around here. What are you doing? It's really painful to watch.

Considering ....very surprised this thread was still active!

I seem to recall the aircraft that was hijacked in the Comoros was operated by Ethiopian Airlines, but I stand to be corrected.

Do Voyager2002 a favour and edit out the quote in your post #67.

No, on any airline that operates narrow seat B787 and B777 aircraft in economy on any route.

    .

If it was about principles, then why not fly direct with THAI or EVA?
You clearly don't have those principles, as you certainly fly with ME airlines, but here you are banging on, paragraph after paragraph, putting words in richardw's mouth.
It's his thread, so he can justify why £455 is a good price for such a restricted product.

What has that to do with anything? None of the options that we are discussing has to involve such aircraft.

Are you just making general conversation and wanting to change the subject? It's fine if you are, but just make it clear.

Just curious about differing aircraft you have experienced.

Here's another one to add to my list of reasons to pay extra on a seat to Asia, so OK, let's be specific on the individual carriers involved which is what you keep ranting on about.

And I know this situation to be factual, although not in the countries involved.

Imagine someone who lives or works in the UK and has family in Helsinki. They have a holiday from work so would like to visit their family in Finland so they decide to combine a holiday in Asia with a short layover to see their family.

Obviously, the Oman Air option would be no good in that scenario, (albeit being cheaper to get to the final destination)but the Finnair flight (including any layover fees) would still very likely work out more cost effective than flying on a separate flight to Helsinki then another on to Asia.

Of course for those who wish to do the same and who have family in Muscat for example, then provided the Oman Air ticket allows a layover, they have really done well.

I know what your response will be - a load of waffle, I'm losing my mind, but you are just responding to valid reasons and comments with insults - which is quite amusing really.

Then I would have written in the first post. This fare has the option of extremely long stopovers(twelve hours) for those who would like to spend a few hours with their family in Helsinki.

Otherwise you will have everyone wondering why someone would create this thread on a website dedicated to bargains.
As you can see, only one person out of all who have posted on this thread, considers it a bargain and that is the person who started the thread.
