Sounds good. I'm sort of stuck for what I am going to be eating later. But that has sort of made me hungry!

I love cheese scones, but I can't bake them, I'm useless at baking, which is probably just as well!

I've never really got the way that weight watchers work out your points.

Cheese scones are easy. My 12 year old son has been making them (under my supervision of course!) because they are no longer allowed to take crisps to school so we had to do something else to supplement his packed lunch. The tricky part for him has been mastering the art of rubbing fat into flour but I think he has got it now!

As for working out points for food - the website has an online calculator to work it out and also a database of lots of different foods so I just looked up flour, margarine and cheese (I didn't count the milk because it was skimmed and there was so little of it) did a bit of maths and bob's your uncle!

If you were referring to daily points allowances I've got a chart somewhere from way back and it depends on your starting weight and whether you are male or female (men can eat more -boo!). I can't remember the specifics but it is something like if your weight is between 14 and 16 stone (women) then you can have, say, 22 points a day. Obviously it drops when you fall into the next weight range.

I do Slimming World, which means I don't worry about points, I just have to be careful about Syns (all the nice food has syns....) But other than that, I'm pretty much ok to eat anything, so long as it classifies as a Free Food or a Healthy Extra.

To be honest they are all a bit complicated to start with!

I like Weight Watchers because I can eat what I want just so long as I count it. Also I am just used to it because I have done it before. Can you do Slimming World online as well like Weight Watchers? That's the best part of it for me!

Yep the have 2 websites, one for purely online members and 1 for class members.

I use the second one which is great, loads of recipes and other only resources, it makes it much easier when you can log on, they also have this fab graph which charts your weight loss.

I've decided that this site has made me a very sad individual, I now love spreadsheets and graphs etc...

  • Hi Lucy, I'm new. Can I join in please? My challenge would be to lose 20 lbs by Christmas, to pay off my Debenhams card and my daughter. And not to put anything on my credit card xx

    Welcome aboard!

Your PSC number will be 035, I'll add you to the spreadsheet.

Good Luck, you'll do fine, most people 'weigh in' on Fridays so you have some time yet.

Thanks madmoney, I gathered you were replying to me :rotfl: I use semi skimmed as the girls won't drink anything else and I can't be bothered buying skimmed just for me. I just water it down on Weetabix so I guess it's almost the same as skimmed

I'm only using sugar at the mo as I've run out of sweeteners at home. I'm trying to avoid going to the shop to buy more until I need more shopping as I'll just spend money on stuff I don't need :o

Good idea re the jaffa cakes. Difficulty would be stopping at 2... Unfortunately have 2 large packets of digestives at home - I bought a packet and my mum came round following day with another packet. I only buy them to make dessert sometimes. Crushed digestives, few tinned peach slices in nat juice, big blob of greek yogurt (low fat of course!) and a drizzle of honey on top. Lush. And a bit of grated dark choc if I'm feeling really decadent! :D

Have been very good today (so far). 2 weetabix for b'fast, apple for elevenses, philly and ham s'wich and cheese curls for lunch and just cooking dinner now. Having 2 roasted sausages in honey and wholegrain mustard with some new pots, onion and tomatoes and will chuck it all in a salad when done. Was going to go gym but don't think I'll make it now. Will go on my daughter's lateral thigh trainer for a bit if I can manage it without falling off!
