    Oh Sweetheart!

So much for Doctor's being able to help us! You'd have thought that they would have noticed you were on Steroids!

Just keep up with what you are doing and always try to remember that you are a wonderful person and many couldn't have coped with what you have been through, you have my respect (for what it's worth)

So long as you stay healthy then anything is a good.

regarding the steroids, the exact same thing happened with my brother, i cant remember what they did, but they stopped th esteroids and within months the weight had fallen off him literally.

And tbh Dragon, I dont think any of us here are overweight wingers, I prefer cuddly but dealing with it!!

Hope u feel better now they are listening to you!!

I just have issues... I like food, food likes my hips.... Not much I can do about it really, I am never going to be a stick insect. I have to many humps and bumps for that!

Thanks Lucy - I think part of the problem was they kept renewing my prescription for the pain relief and didn't register what I was on any longer! So then they started getting at me about my weight - yes I NEED to lose weight for the sake of my ankle mainly but the rest of my joints as well. Hopefully now they now the problem it will be easier to talk to them!

Good. And make sure you get all the help you can from them.

I have a slight distrust of doctors ever since my Mother broke her elbow, she was told she had just bruised her wrist... 2 years later and 2 operations (+ 1 pin) she still can't move her wrist very well. All they needed to do was x-ray it!

Are you still on the steriods now?

    Thanks M4M

You guys and gals on here rock! You really know how to cheer up a down Dragon!

Re the steroids - it is the only thing that keeps the pain vaguely at bay so I need to stay on them! Although I am hoping to cut down (last time I tried though I was crying with pain so maybe not!)

What doesn't help is struggling to walk through town and being told by a fit boatie type from one of the colleges (I live in Cambridge!) to "get out of the way you stupid, fat cripple - what are you doing out with normal people" - that hurt big time

OMG!! I can't believe someone would actually say that!!!

Try not to listen to the dregs of the earth, to be honest they shouldn't be allowed out on their own.

I have a 4 year old cousin with very bad disabilities (We were told she would never walk or talk) She walks, very unsteadily, but at speed and the number of people at stare at her is unbelievable.

Personally I would classify you as very normal.... Anyway I wouldn't want to be a fit boatie type with an attitude like that!

  • people like the fit boatie type arent what i would consider "normal" hun, they are immoral freaks of nature that say pathetic things like that to make themselves feel better, lets just hope that he gets his comeuppance one day - preferably when hes on his bloody boat

*sniff*, waaaaaaahhhhhhh! sight of a Dragon falling onto Lucy's neck sobbing!

Oh the follow on to the boatie b*****rd - he was going into his college and the Porter was in the Army with him and tore him a new one! Basically told him that I used to be slim, fit and could have broken him in half and watch out mate because what happened to her (ie me) could happen to you and you will be lucky if anyone stays with you to help you with your attitude! Oh and the fact I got invited into the Porter's Lodge and was given a decent Army cup of tea helped :rotfl: - and it was amazing how much that boaties post was delayed for a while as well! :T
