Takes some courage to admit how much you have to lose Dragon. Well done for your first step, admitting the extent. Now forget how much you have to lose, really forget it. Break it down into "bite size" amounts. Half or a stone at a time. Really, it helps. I think you should re-post your Christmas target only. Then you can pat your self on the back when you get there, and start again with a new one. Well, thats what I am going to do anyway (56 pounds to lose or more).unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

Lucy could we have some kind of numbering system, like DFW numbers? Then could we have some kind of weekly update on one posting, maybe at the start so we can easily find the success of the group. Would be great to have a "collective" amount of weight lost each week. Would be staggering. Would this be too much work??? There seems to be a rocketing number of members, it will be hard to keep track. Either that or you could give groups of say, ten members a group name for theur own posts, and have a "house" competition?unsecured Debts at [strike]August 2007 £79,984[/strike] September £79,579 [STRIKE]Snowballing date July 2013[/STRIKE].

MissKJ I like both of those ideas, I don't need to lose 10lbs any more only 5lb at first. makes the task seem much easier.:j :j0

Thanks MissKJ - I would like to have broken the next stone barrier by Yule - so my target is to lose a minimum of 10 pounds by then!
The Doc letting me go back on the Pill (which means DH and I will be able to "exercise" again :rotfl:) will help this!Do not meddle in the affairs of Dragons, for thou art crunchy and good with catsup

Well, weighed in last night as I stayed the same - so I know what my starting weight is now! Aiming for at least 10 if not 14lbs by Christmas and although I've had 14 Syns today (oops) I'm still fine and it's all still within my diet so good first day again
Will now try hard on it - first step is getting to bed early tonight! I am soooo much better with my eating and exercise if I'm not tired!
Good luck everyone

You aren't alone Dragon, I need to lose 57lbs to be at the very top of my "healthy" weight range and 85lbs if I wanted to be a size 10!
At 16 stone I still get things yelled at me from passing cars and am too paranoid to go for some jobs that I know I'm qualified for because I know they wont want to employ an overweight person for customer facing roles.
Oh well its all motivational I suppose, look on the bright side I say.:A:A:A:A:A:A0 -
I was wondering what caused other peoples turning point over losing weight? Or even if you've had one. For me it was having a visit from a friend who lives in the states (namely California, are they ALL beautiful people or what?) and getting the two photos I was forced into posing for back from her. When I saw them... OMG!!!
She is this gorgeous petite little blonde, who at 40 looks better than I did at 18. Even her Hawaiian boyfriend looked better than me and he is your typical heavy islander. I thought I looked fab when I got dressed, did my hair, thought I was the bees knees, until I saw those photos. I'm not being hard on myself but I looked a fat horrid mess. I thought by going for a shirt in a size 26 (when I was a 22) it would help "hide" me some but all it did was look like I was wearing a tent. I swore there and then that I will be a "normal" size by the time I meet anyone else.
So what made you think "I have to lose weight"? Was it something specific or was it just a culmination of stuff?:A:A:A:A:A:A0
