  • Thanks beanielou and shrimpy. I've calmed down a bit after having a quite boring meeting that's taken my mind off of the situation. Had a brief chat with our director who has said that he's getting them in a room tomorrow to try and sort it all out - basically new head of department doesn't tell any of us what he's doing (says he's really busy etc.) and turns out he's re-doing stuff that my boss has already done while he's the one that's actually working flat out because the head says he can't possibly take on anymore work. It's one viscious cycle really and I'm stuck in the middle with my own massive workload that comes with it's own problems.

Going to finish a couple more bits and then go home I think - will stop off at I**land to see if I can find the new chip shop curry sauce as I think i fancy that with chips tonight!

Have a big hug ruby. It's appalling that you should be caught in the crossfire. Hopefully you'll stick with your menu today as that's something you can control. Fingers crossed.:)

:T on your loss shrimpy, going in the right direction.

I've yet to make a SW curry that I really liked as much as a take away or even a ready meal from a supermarket mrsp. I'll be waiting to hear what's in the new book.

Good idea to have breakfast you can grab flutterby although I know when I make something like that (frittata in my case) it calls me from the fridge. Glad the Speed food's arrived.:D

I'm out at lunchtime again today so I'll either buy something in town (salad or JP depending how I feel) or try to hang on and eat when I get back.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: tba (as above or LO hash with cabbage)
D: SW chilli (full of veg) with rice and cottage cheese
    Syns: chocolate or Benefit bar

Good idea to go home early Ruby, it's awful to be in an atmosphere like that.

Thanks for sharing the BBQ recipe link Shala, looks nice! Think I'll make that for dinner tomorrow night. Not sure what the bottled pepper in brine is though I must admit!

How are you feeling today beanielou?

    My menu today:
Breakfast: Weetabix with milk (HEA & HEB)
Lunch: Omelette with bacon, onion and courgette & salad
Dinner: SW burger in a roll (6 syns - I should have used this as my HEB, I MUST plan better!!) salad and SW chips (+ 1 syn for BBQ sauce)
Snacks: Sweet chilli rice crackers (5 syns), banana
Drinks: Tea (1 syn for sugar), diet coke and water

Big hugs Ruby, it's awful when the atmosphere makes it unbearable to be at work - our consultant said the curry sauce wasn't out until the 12th :( so it may not be at your icel*nd yet. It wasn't at ours... E.t.a. Ignore me, people have found it on Instagram so it must already be out.

Thanks for the recipe Lush, will definitely be trying that!

The bottled pepper is just roasted red peppers in a jar bettyboof, I buy mine from B&M but I think they do them in the supermarkets too. You could always just roast a red pepper if you can be faffed :D

right lunch time has ran out - i'll catch up a bit more later!!

Did anyone see the new Curry Club recipe book that's due out next Monday? Our consultant had one and passed it around group and it looks amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on it
  • Can I ask what you guys feel about mashed bananas and syns? I understand if u mash/puree/blend/cook fruit it should be synned on sw and this is because you can overeat the fruit this way or the sugars it releases in cooking.

But I want to make some raw energy balls which are one mashed banana, oats, honey or apple puree. This makes 12 balls and I'd never eat all 12 in one day but would eat at least one banana a day normally so don't see why having 6 balls a day and then not having a banana aren't the same thing?!

    Today looks like this:

B - omelette with spinach, tomato, peppers, sweetcorn, spring onion and cheese hea. New pots salted in fry light. . 1 syn for sauce.

L - huge salad with salad leaves, beansprouts, carrots, cucumber, tomato, spring onion, peppers, cheese hea, noodles 1 syn, dressing 1 syn, falafel 1 syn.

    D - wrap 8syns, veggies, salad, Mexican rice 2syns, cheese 2 x hea, sour cream 3 syns.

Snacks - banana, berries, wholemeal toast heb with vecon.

Total 17syns. Have we left over so may have some yogurt on my berries (don't have any ff ones here!)

Weighed in last night with a 0.5lb gain :( Feeling pretty rubbish about it to be honest because this is the first week in a while that I've stuck 100% to plan, so to have a gain is a bit disheartening. Deep down I know my issue is stress/emotional eating. Even though I've been eating the right things, I'm eating for the wrong reasons. I'm on holiday next week (Shala, please put me down for sts next week), so I will carry on being as good as I can until I go, relax a bit for my holiday and see how things are when I come back I guess.
