Congratulations Tweets on SOTW and to Orlao for getting to target. Also thanks to everyone for the encouragement, just goes to show a week on plan does wonders for you.

Feeling really bloated today - didn't end up eating in the pub last night, had a slice of pizza at a work buffet and it's made me feel really *blah*. Pizza is just not worth it. Going to forget about it and move on with lots of peppermint tea today:

B - Porridge (HEB and 1/2 HEA), strawberries
L - Lentil and Vegetable soup, clementines, apple
D - Sausage casserole (4 syns), mash and veg
    S - 4 Mikado sticks (2 syns), apple

Hope everyone has a good day.

Not looking forward to WI tomorrow. A quick jump on the scales this morning and it's looking as though I may even have put on a bit this week! Had one off plan day but have been low syn all the week. Will just have to take the hit if I have put on.

    Today's plan:

    B - ham, mushroom & laughing cow triangle omlette - 1.5 syns
L - LO coq au vin, sweet potato mash (synned yesterday)
D - lamb & canellini beans - another new recipe for me. It's from the Free Food Feasts book

    HEA - milk as usual
HEB - not planned but will have something later, maybe Alpen Lights

  • Morning. Like Shala suggested, I also use those Tesco wine stock pots. Obviously they are not "the real thing" but they are a very acceptable replacement and better in dishes that need the wine than using syns or doing without. I use the red ones in beef casseroles and bolognase and the white in fish dishes and if I make lyonnaise potatoes or risotto.
1st at target weigh in today so keep your fingers crossed I haven't messed up.
  • Well done everyone!

Weighed in this morning. Most difficult group to find!! But anyway, lost 3lbs. 1lb to go until I hit 2 stone and target! This week will be my week!!

    Xx

Thanks for the comments on the wine flavoured cubes. I didn't even know they existed. My favourite Beef in Red wine recipe has both wine and cornflour in it so relatively high syn. It's a bit of a special occasion recipe with a rich thick gravy. The so called beef stew yesterday had a thin 'juice' but definitely needed a bit more flavour. I added an Oxo as well as my usual stock cube and seasoning to give it a bit more taste. I also cooked it in the morning to give it time to marinate for dinner and lengthened the cooking time to make sure the meat was tender. Do you think they actually test SW recipes?;):rotfl:

Good idea to use cottage cheese as a free dressing for your salad lush. I often do that, it's very versatile. You can tell you've just done a shop, you've got Speed, Speed and more Speed on your menu.:D

I meant to ask if the Iceland mince was 5%? It's not a shop I go into very often although I did last week for the chicken jalfrezi.

Sorry to hear about your bump greentiger but pleased your sewing brought so much pleasure. Could you give the naughties in the freezer to the family to take home?

Football tonight. I've persuaded DH that there is plenty of time to eat at home and get to the match so no eating out today. So except for the half Crunchie I'll have had three syn free days since Sunday. Saving them up a bit as I'm out for lunch tomorrow.

    Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for drinks
L: LO beef stew with veg
D: Austrian ham hash with green veg
    Syns: half Crunchie (3/4 syns?)
  • I popped into Iceland yesterday (we have one of those food warehouse ones near my mums), and I'm pretty sure I saw frozen 5% fat mince 900g for £5.. I'm pretty sure it was there anyway!

I was hoping the sw meals were on offer but they weren't so I didn't bother. Don't think they're worth £3!!

yeah - my plan is to keep the speed up now - freshly enthused for the next challenge/my countdown :D had a few blips this week but I'm determined to conquer the bad habits that I've learned in the past 18 months!
In fact In my big Iceland shop on Monday I stocked up on bits husband likes so the top up money that's left can go on my speed hehe! need beetroot and pickled onions at some point but in no rush whilst I am doing ok with carrot/cucumber/tomato in with my lettuce :)

the Iceland mince is <5% fat, I'm still really impressed at how it cooked up so will make my speedy cottage pies this weekend (carrot and swede topping and onions/mushrooms in mine

I'll be going out for a lunch hour walk as soon as my colleagues get back - they've been annoying me today sticking their nose and thoughts in to my job which they have no real idea about other than the invoicing I do1 (they are from the finance team)
