Sounds like you had a wonderful time greentiger! I'm incredibly jealous! I'd love to go to Rome!
Don't worry about the gain.. You'll get it off soon enough and I bet the food was worth it! Xx0 -
Pleased you enjoyed Rome greentiger. Would love to revisit - it's our 40th anniversary and hints have been dropped

Morning everyone, had a manic day yesterday so didn't manage to check in. Ended up losing 5.2lbs when I weighed in which has put me in a really good mood.
Trying to stay as low syn as possible this week as it's our 1st wedding anniversary on Saturday and DH has planned a whole bunch of things apparently and I want to enjoy them without thinking about losing weight too much.
Today looks like:
B - Porridge (HEB and 1/2 HEA), apple, strawberries
L - Lentil and vegetable soup, clementines
D - Mushroom risotto (1/2 HEA and 5 syns)
I'm going to a pub quiz with work colleagues tonight and we're eating there. I've had the risotto before and it doesn't have cream in it, but it does come with some parmesan shavings (probably more than 1/2 HEA worth) and it might have some wine in the stock. So I'm going synfree all day and counting that as my syns. Hope everyone has a lovely day.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -

:T that's an amazing loss ruby. Obviously that little stress blip came off quickly. Have a great weekend when it comes. When it comes to holidays and occasions (whether in Rome or elsewhere;)) I'm all for taking the hit as to me that's part of the way I live and SW is intended to be a way of life rather than a quick fix. Glad you had a good time greentiger, worth every ounce!
DH is making noises about eating out before tomorrow's football but hopefully we can manage without.
I'm going to make a beef stew with butter beans from last month's magazine for dinner so hope it's nice.
Today's EE plan:
B: NAS grapefruit, HEB porage with HEA milk
L: ham, fried potatoes, carrots and cabbagebeef stew with sides of greens
Syns: squirt of syrup (2?)0 -
Hi all,
Absolutely thrilled to post -2lbs and at TARGET :j:j:j:j
This is despite having both breakfast and lunch at motorway services - and we all know how SW friendly they aren't - yesterday on a 450 mile road trip to collect a HUGE new dog. He's a three year old 50 kg rottie called Sam...it's like having a small pony that thinks he's a lapdog in the house but at least the body magic will go up0 -
I don't see any reason why not lush. It's not as if you've even cooked it the first time. I think with raw egg in there I would want to keep it chilled though.
I'd never heard of lean and bean so I looked it up. It is cheaper per kg up front but (if my maths is correct) it works out about £7.30 per kg for the 60% meat content compared with £5.98 per kg in Aldi and £6.25 in Asda. The best value in Asda is to buy a 750 pack then you could make other things too like chilli for jackets or savoury mince while you were doing your batch cooking:).
I'm going to try the oats for the first time at the weekend. will cook them in a silicon case/s then transfer to a tub and fridge to see how they go
ended up buying 900g lean mince from Iceland for £5 - tried it last night (cook from frozen which I don't usually do/go for) and it cooks up brilliant!
We had lasagne last night and to get extra speed in for me I did and half and half dish so half just plan sauce and the other half with extra layers of mushrooms and peppers and put tomato slices on the top to identify which was 'my side' don't know why I never thought of that before!
pay day yesterday and I went crazy - full freezer restock bar veggies (could find any speedy ones I fancied so stuck with fresh) in Iceland, cupboard and half the fresh fruit in aldi and then the rest in asda. I've got; kiwi, strawberry, grapes, banana, melon, peppers, cucumber, lettuce, tomatoes (cherry and salad) mushrooms and some other bits in there now! should all last 2-3 weeks then I'll do a small top up along with the usual bread, milk, ham and cheese
today:
breakfast: omelette muffins (mushrooms, red pepper, tomato and eggs), tea (milk from hea)
lunch: cupshotz (an out of time this morning) plus grapes and strawberries. not really enough speed but better than usual for a rush day
mid afternoon: free yogurt, banana
tea: gammon steak with 1/2 potato mashed (nothing added- littlie has the other half) served with mushrooms and tomatoes (done in oven) lettuce, cucumber, red pepper
heb: undecided, don't think I'll fit one in
hea: milk in tea
syns 2 x Jaffa cake (5), 6 chocolate fingers (9) - no reason just because they were there grr
tomorrow's plan is:
breakfast: omelette muffins (as today)
lunch: chicken with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, pepper and free cottage cheese (aldi cottage cheese with onion and chive). 6 syn biscuit
mid afternoon: kiwi and melon
tea: chicken and bacon with salad************************************

Some good losses coming in this week. Well done Ruby, that's a huge loss.
Greentiger, glad you enjoyed your time in Rome and a small gain shouldn't take too long to lose (says she who is still struggling to lose holiday gain!)
Today's plan:
B - porridge made with water; few grapes
L - spicy parsnip soup with 1 slice of crustless - only had a few spoonfuls as it was far too spicy! Ham salad sandwich 6 syns, cornichons, pickled onions, beetroot
D - coq au vin, mash 1.5 syns
Hadn't planned on the sandwich at lunchtime but needs must, so 6 syns for the bread.
So finishing on 7.5 syns, so not too bad.

Just had to share this with everyone..
...had to wear my wet weather walking jacket on last night for the first time in ages and the zip went up without me having to breathe in or (as husband put it) look as if I'd been shoe horned into it
One happy bunny!0
