Delurking to give you my best wishes for tomorrow, Lichfield!
I hope it goes smoothly, but I suspect that Daddy Demented is not yet finished providing 'entertainment'.Good, clean fun....MFW #11 2015 £7657 / £88800 -

You owe her nothing even morally and I'd deduct it anyway for the damn cheek of trying to get £5k off last minute. What a pair of highly unpleasant chancers.
I hope you spend no more than 3 nanoseconds cleaning up when you move.Forget the moral high ground, people like this wont appreciate that, it will go "woosh" right over their heads.
OMG just read the bit about wanting the keys and not being committed. I take it (hope) you've simply ignored them.
Got to say your EA must really feel they've earned their money. I really hope, fingers crossed, there is no more drama tomorrow. I have a nasty feeling about this ...... has the EA impressed upon them that daughter is on the hook for oodles of money if she doesn't complete?
To be fair, he may be implying that it will become a rental property e.g buyer doesn't physically move in. HOWEVER, it says something about his character if he would let it in what he thinks may be an unsafe condition unfit for his daughter, if that's his thinking. Ugh!0 -
coppers? I'd call the real ones for tomorrows episode.
It's funny you should mention that because I was thinking along the same lines as Mr W is clearly unstable and it might not take much to completely unhinge him.
OP - all respect to your very own Charles Atlas but might having a burly friend or two around during the move also be a good idea?
I wouldn't be rushing to get your cats in their baskets too early either given this Goon's propensity for drivel.0 -

Ah, but if you rent it out, you WOULD need all sorts of safety certificates wouldn't you? I wonder if you can get a gas safety check for about £90 these days?0 -

We have two burly neighbours who are definitely home tomorrow and know what's been going on. Remember I was here on my own for a couple of years before I got married so I needed to make friends with the local !!!!!
The cats are off on their holidays for a few days while we move ... I wouldn't put them through exposure to Daddy Deranged ... It's hard enough moving house when you're a cat and you're very attached to a particular bedroom windowsill.0 -
Oh my goodness, I know it's not nice to laugh at others' misfortunes but this thread has cracked me up this evening!
I don't know about small change and prawns/mackerel in the curtain poles, but you should definitely leave a print-out of this thread tucked away somewhere when you leave your old home
Good luck for tomorrow...although let's hope you won't need it!"I may be many things but not being indiscreet isn't one of them"0 -
What were the names of the emmerdale family, the dingwalls? dingles?
That's the image in my head and I haven't seen a soap in about 10 years. lol
Something that just came to mind is that he may be using his daughter to purchase a buy-to-let so there is no stamp duty @3%?...
His behaviour and her lack appropriate involvement are turning me into an armchair sleuth!0 -
