  • I don't think they intend to refuse to complete ... They THINK completion just means they get the keys and then they can decide if they're keeping the house :rotfl:

    EA described them as 'naive.' A diplomatic lady.

    I'd like to see their tour too. I was going to do sooooo much cleaning. Past tense.

    (Just checking - legally I'm ok not to clean, yes?)

    Well, I wouldn't smear poo on the walls, but yes, you're fine not to spend your last evening cleaning!

    You're legally fine not to clean. They may opt to get a company in to clean it .... perhaps he could negotiate a price of, say, £90?

    I just pity any poor tradesmen who go in to do any work for daughter. :eek::eek:

    Well Dad "might" have realised by then that Protective Dad role is to turn up by coincidence:cool: when tradesmen are expected/discuss the job being done with them in very knowledgeable terms in Quietly Confident mode and then wait for them to go "Yes sir/no sir/3 bags full sir" to Dad - whilst daughter quietly fumes inwardly that the tradesmen didnt treat her that way and wouldnt mind a bit of that attitude (considering she is the one paying their bill.....:cool:).

    The EA just called about something else and told me ... You will LOVE this .... That the dad said 'we're very happy to pick up the keys tomorrow but the vendor needs to understand we're not committing to anything until we know the electrics are ok.'

    :rotfl::

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    This bloke just keeps on giving....

    She said 'but you do understand your daughter has to complete in order to get the keys Mr W?'

    'Yes yes ... But we're not definitely keeping the house at that stage.'

    .

    Wow, just wow.....:doh:
  • what a pair of idiots!

    i really feel sorry for your neighbours.

    please make sure someone is with you in the morning before the keys are exchange in case he decides to pop by.

    I'm just hoping they have a solicitor who has ensured that all the deposit money is in the solicitor's client bank account and is not trusting the dad to transfer funds tomorrow.

    Well actually it doesn't, it means they've committed to buy it, however they, or better she, could still default on completion and suffer the very expensive consequences. Not that I'm suggesting that will happen.

    This would be heading into the realms of my sisters house move :eek:

    When completion has happened and you are well distant, I'd send her a link to this thread. :)
