LOL.,can't say I think you should have paid, but if you were going to,that said its an excellent way of doing it.0 -
I'm going to confess to lurking too, I'm afraid with the hope they didn't get the house and you found a better buyer or had to crawl back and pay more. Still congratulations and definitely spend the £90 on dinner, no moral high ground left with this pair.
I would suggest that the decent thing to do is clean the place. What most unfortunately occurred when I sold my place was my cat went awol and turned up at the last minute filthy and smelly. This meant the kitchen floor was still sopping with mop water when we shut the door for the last time and while the bathroom looked gleaming there was a large runny cat turd in an awkward spot in the corner of it which could have been stepped in if you I hadn't spotted it at the last minute. I do hope the same doesn't happen for you.....:rotfl:Saving for a deposit. £5440 of £11000 saved so far:j0 -

Maybe it's Wombat? Or would it rhyme with banker?0 -
Now I can't get the name of Mr Wombatanker out of my head! :eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0

OMG, what a saga! But so pleased for you, OP, that's great news. If I see a story in the news of the death of deranged crazy man helping his daughter to move house, I know where to find you.
KiKi
p.s. I know your cats are currently house cats, but just in case you're planning to let them have some freedom (cats are natural roamers, after all, and even my two 15 year olds like to 'roam' in my small garden!) then don't forget that you should keep them in their new place around 3 weeks before letting them out so they know their new home.' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
I read this on day 1 and have just come back for an update. And what an update!
I'm really sorry this has been so stressful for you, it certainly seems that you have behaved as you should throughout.
Daddy Deranged does sound rather . . . erm . . .shall we stick with 'confused'?? I do hope he doesn't cause further problems tomorrow and that the whole process goes smoothly for you.
I will check for an update tomorrow evening and look forward to sharing a virtual glass of bubbly to toast your new family home.0 -
OP good luck with the move tomorrow x don't forget the windowsill :rotfl:
If you were to put this plot in a novel, people would say that it was too far fetched! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0 -

Anyone got £90 in coppers they'd like to swap for notes?
I don't know if you can get them in England but if you go to an RBS branch in Scotland you can still get £1 notes (yes £1 notes are still accepted and legal in Scotland)
Pay using these
Glad to see you have things sorted (almost), You have more patience than me- I would have told him to get lost a while ago.baldly going on...0 -
De lurking to say huge congratulations OP I really didn't think they were going to exchange! If he turns up don't let him in, the house is still yours until contracts are complete.
As for the cleaning, I hope the toilet won't flush just as you're about to leave0
