My mate works in a bank and is bringing over £89.99 in small change. I'm not joking.
Love it! In a past life I used to be responsible for receiving bus conductors takings and amalgamating them into sacks for bulk coin banking, and I can certify that much in copper really weighs something!!
As to the rest, tell the EA there will be: no guided tour, no direct handover of keys, and if you are able get a couple of electrician's dates noted down, the list, cash and keys will be deposited at the EA/your Solicitor after you have had it confirmed by your solicitor that legal completion has taken place.
I know the temptation is to tell the man to "F" orf, but please resist as there are people in this world just daft enough to refuse to complete, and take the consequences - that is a fight you don't want.0 -

He's now phoned the estate agent to say that I'm to hand over the keys to him in person tomorrow, and walk him around the house to explain how everything works. I also need to ring the electrician to find out his availability for next week and have a list of possible times available when he arrives tomorrow.
Isn't this just ..... Remarkable?!
And where is the buyer in all this?!
Absolutely not! The BUYER can pick up the keys from the EA.
I would suspect you havent heard the last from this vile cretin for quite some time to comeThe Daily Mail

Another lurker de-lurking to comment and say congrats & oh my goodness at the same time! Daddy is an !!!! and I agree with everyone in that I doubt his demands haven't stopped yet. OP, how far away is your new house & have you set up a re-direction for your mail? the last thing you want to do is to leave your new address and I'm sure you won't be!
When this is all done, I'll tell the tale of my sisters house move, horrendous doesn't even come into it!0 -

The EA has already put him straight on the fact that THEY hand over the keys not me - they phoned me to tell me what he'd said mostly for comedy value! They also suggested what someone did above - leave a cheque so I can prove they've had the money. Although the £89.99 in cash would have been a lot of fun, I've cancelled it. Boo.0
