Why not £90 in chocolate coins?
In the oven.0 -
I must admit that, in your position, tempting as it is to leave the £90 (minus a 1p) there in small change - I wouldnt want to give money in cash form anyway.
What proof would you have that they had received the money?
I'd leave a cheque there - which they either cashed or they didnt. If they cashed it - then I'd have proof that way that they had received the money. If they didnt cash it - then I'd cancel it.0 -
You might end up needing a restraining order against this man.0

He's now phoned the estate agent to say that I'm to hand over the keys to him in person tomorrow, and walk him around the house to explain how everything works. I also need to ring the electrician to find out his availability for next week and have a list of possible times available when he arrives tomorrow.
Isn't this just ..... Remarkable?!
And where is the buyer in all this?!
NO
He picks them up from the EA like most people do. Besides which why would you give the keys to him. It's not his house.
No show round. Goodwill went out the window a long time ago.
No, you're not his secretary. He can arrange himself.
Be done with this ridiculous bully.0 -
Congratulations!!!!!
I've had people over this afternoon and have been wanting to check for an update all the time they were here! I logged on as soon as they left! Epic thread.
Brilliant news!
Decline the walk round ... Leave as early as you can and drop keys with EA. My last buyer turned up a couple of hours before completion and made us walk him round while we were waiting for the phone call. I'm telling you, as soon as it came we were out of there to collect our keys like bats out of hell!
Good luck tomorrow MOVE DAY yippeeeeeeee
If I knew your address I would personally drop a bottle of champagne in to you!

This, 100%.
It's what you're paying the EA for to deal with muppets like this this.0 -
Noooo!! Don't hand the keys over to him in person unless the EA is there with a couple of bouncers. Quietly convinced Daddy is a scary nut job who wouldn't be above trying to intimidate you.
We haven't got you all this way only to have you bumped off before you move into your lovely new house!!0 -

Excellent! :rotfl:0 -
If the 90 pounds is being deducted by the solicitor off her invoice you will end up paying twice for that survey if you leave the cash.
Just ignore everything now and focus on your move and your future and your sanity. Everything else is background noise.0 -
This thread needs to be turned into a feature-length film.
