Awesome news, hopefully this will all soon be a distant memory as you relax in your new home.

The loveliest thing to come from this (aside from a new house!) is 'meeting' all you wonderful people who have been so incredible. Can I stay please?

Only if you promise to update when she completes/moves in. You just know Daddy will have at least one more trick he'll try to play.....

And what the hell is he doing crying down the phone to YOUR solicitor?!

This clueless muppet clearly has no idea to house buying etiquette. Or self respect!
  • Have been following all this as a lurker - so pleased the exchange went through, and well done you for holding your nerve on the attempted gazunder.

    Cheers!

    Brilliant! :T  :T
Would do snoopy Happy Dance but office desk not capable of sustained enthusiasm & would undoubtedly wake up snoozing colleagues.
:happyhear for you! (I think the emoticon means Just So Darn Pleased, yes?)
  • Ooh I can't wait to see what tricks they try to play next! I'd put a fiver on you getting a call from the estate agent a week after completion "She's changed her mind and wants you to take the house back" :rotfl:

    And .... We've exchanged :D:D

It's been a day of epic proportions ... Daddy has been on the phone to my solicitor in tears ... He just wanted the best for his little girl. Wish I'd been a fly on that wall ... Or maybe a large killer wasp.

The creep made a last ditch attempt to get me to knock £5k off the price :mad: But we have exchanged at the agreed price.

Ha! Well that was unexpected... </s>

I'm so glad that you've finally exchanged and now she's locked in and you can get on with your life. It's been stressful just following along from the gallery!

I only hope she has as bad a buyer when it's her turn to sell the place on... ;)

I'm utterly convinced this isn't over. At least this time OP can tell him to foxtrot oscar without consequence.
  • I've been following this thread avidly, OP and I'm so pleased for you that you've actually managed to exchange!!:j

Here's hoping that the completion will be quick, painless and have no more nasty surprises lurking for you!!
A cunning plan, Baldrick? Whatever it was, it's got to be better than pretending to be mad; after all, who'd notice another mad person around here?.......Edmund Blackadder.

Mark, I would never abandon you all without any detailed updates on whatever comes next!! I feel VERY sure Daddy will have a list of complaints within the week. Cleanliness of the house will be top because we're not putting in that much effort right now if I'm honest ;) We've got three cats who are quite stressed by all the boxes so there's every chance of some last minute vomit we might miss. I hope not for her sake, obviously ;)

I think somewhere on the forum is a suggestion that a bit of raw fish carefully inserted into something like a curtain pole provides a particularly appropriate - and lasting - welcome for this kind of new owner.

Just relishing the possibility makes me realise what a thoroughly unpleasant person I really am.

Have a virtual glass of sparkly on me.
