I'm utterly convinced this isn't over. At least this time OP can tell him to foxtrot oscar without consequence.

Mark, I would never abandon you all without any detailed updates on whatever comes next!! I feel VERY sure Daddy will have a list of complaints within the week. Cleanliness of the house will be top because we're not putting in that much effort right now if I'm honest We've got three cats who are quite stressed by all the boxes so there's every chance of some last minute vomit we might miss. I hope not for her sake, obviously

I think somewhere on the forum is a suggestion that a bit of raw fish carefully inserted into something like a curtain pole provides a particularly appropriate - and lasting - welcome for this kind of new owner.

Just relishing the possibility makes me realise what a thoroughly unpleasant person I really am.
