I am just about to trying placing an order to go for the £38. option. Does anyone know how to go about getting the option to have it sent to you on disc ?
I run Vista does anyone know if this will still work ok for me ?
Thanks
Hah. I seriously doubt Microsoft would bring out Windows Vista then bring out Office 2007 themselves and not be able to run it on their OWN operating system! That would have possibly been the worlds worst marketing ever.0 -
When I loged in today it gave me the option of a Back-up DVD - £8.95 and Extended Download Service - £4.95
Is there any point having both or does having the Backup DVD mean you can load it onto other computer I have ?
There is no point in having both or even buying it at all if you have a DVD/CD writer (I think it would just fit on a 80 min CD).
The Extended Download Service means you can download it as many times as you like, if you don't select it you have 30 days to download it.
And the DVD is just a physical copy - it doesn't increase the number of licenses you have. If you read the terms and conditions one product key allows you to install it on one mobile/laptop computer and one desktop computer.
But regardless anyway if you have a DVD writer just copy it for yourself at a fraction of the cost.0 -

Hi there
Before I commit to the deal at software4students, can anyone provide feedback - good or bad - on software4students please. £53 seems such a good price I can't resist it - yes I was going to buy the student edition anyway but when I can get Office 2007 Professional Plus for this price I may as well go for it. The next cheapest i can find is at www.pugh.co.uk but it's twice this price!
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
TIA:T0 -
where do I start?,
1) no .ac.uk email address.
2) not a university student.
3) With this deal I get the disc and licence key through the post
4)although microsoft suggested that I submit an application with card details, I do not fancy giving out my details and then having to fight to get my money ack should my application be refused on the grounds that i have no .ac.uk address (which is one of the conditions of this deal as far as their terms go.) as their website they clearly state that you have to have a .ac.uk email address.
5) I do not need MS Groove but I do need all the applications that the software4students deal gives me.
As for the comment about the software not being licensed when I leave college, I will just quote the website:
What happens to the software when I leave college?
The license offered to you by Microsoft is a perpetual license and does not expire when you cease to be a student. You can still use the products after you graduate or leave college.
So in answer to your comment, I will probably go for the softwareforstudents deal because I am eligible to apply for it. (Also most primary school pupil parents can apply for it too - so I also tick that box).
If you can't give feedback on the information requested that's ok, I have already weighed up the alternatives and I want information on the supplier NOT the products!
Edit: Having read the problems some people are encountering with the ultimatesteal deal, I think I am right not to go for it.0 -
Downloaded this today - pretty impressed with it so far and certainly can't complain at the price!!!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

The icon is on my desktop but it says 'the installation of this package has failed' and makes my computer run incredibly slow(it's never done this before & there's lots of memory free as i just moved loads to an external hard drive). Hopefully i'll hear from them soon and they'll help me sort it out!
Replying to my own post as I don't want people to be put off!
I did hear from Microsoft telling me to contact the main site but I gave the download another go(my sister reminded me I could re-download) and I downloaded it from IE instead of Firefox incase that was something to do with it. Anyway this time is worked fine &I really like the software! OneNote seems quite interesting &Word seems more easy to use!0
