    THE BIG THREAD FREQUENCY VOTE

I have put an anonymous poll on the internet so that folk can express their opinions about how often the thread should be posted.

I'm not saying we have to take actions on the results. I just thought it'd be an easy way to gather opinions.

For anyone who wonders what we're talking about here's a heads-up: For as long as I can remember a new thread has been posted every day with the title "What small DFW-things will you be doing today?" This week the thread is running as
"What small DFW-things will you be doing this week?"

    What does everyone think?

Folk who use the Facebook page can vote on there too.

Here's the link. there's no need to sign up for anything. Just visit and vote. Takes 10 seconds.

(Click here to see the results.)

I'll post regular updates on the vote on here.

Dinner yesterday was lovely and you'll never guess what - forgot to buy gravy so OH made some and it was delicious. :) There are lots of leftovers so will need to get some meal planning done to make sure we use them up. Veg and chicken today and then got lots of ham to use up too.

I am very embarrassed to admit that I didn't know you COULD buy gravy :o:o

Purple Fairy Thank you for starting this weeks thread.

Ally Thank you for the poll, I've voted.

:AThank you all for continuing to send healing vibes, it looks like they have worked :A ds slept until nearly midday today!! but when he woke up he was a completely different person, full of beans. He has enthusiastically done his lessons, even volunteered to do some subjects, which doesn't normally happen. He has played outside as well as picking and eating blackberries. He wanted to invite his cousin over but he said he wasn't going to in case he was still infectious. I also feel a lot better and dd seems like her normal self.

OH worked from home today, which gave me the chance to run some errands. I went to the market for F&V, bought friends son a birthday present 70% off, bought some more card making supplies as well as picking up a few bits of groceries and putting fuel in OH's car.

  • Hi all, I am really late. What a day. No-one wanted stew, we were all late home so we had bacon butties or omelettes depending on preference. Bacon and eggs both needed eating and the stew will save for tomorrow.

Forgot I have some mileage to claim for work so that's a bonus.

    Time for sleep!
  • Morning guys! Been up almost an hour, just having my 2nd cup of coffee then I'm going off to the allotment for 1 1/2 hrs before oh leaves for work :D

BB glad to hear your fam is now feeling better! Jeez you do a lot a day!

Dawn your comment re gravy made me laugh! I can just about make a gravy without powder but don't unless I've run out. Maybe I should look into it...

Work went well yesterday and I think I will slot back into this role. It's the role I did 7 years ago before I went into management so I was a little anxious that legislation had changed so much I wouldn't be good at it anymore. I guess this is to do with the confidence I have lost over the last few years rather than my ability, so think with a little research I will be good at it again in time :T The company at this point seems like a decent one - I have an induction of a month before I even start working with clients directly. Such a change from companies I have worked for over the last 4 years! :T

I finally racked up my wine last night :j felt like I was winning rather than just sitting on the sofa watching tv or scrolling endlessly through fb :D It's now bubbling away on the kitchen side. ahhhhhhh it's the simple things!

Plans for today - it's going to be a hot one!

    * taking dgd to the outdoor swimming pool. Will take a picnic with us
    * load of washing & hang on line
    * all meals from stores
    * submit these blooming meter readings :o
    * mince out of freezer to make meatballs for tomorrow when friends are coming for dinner (will be working tomorrow so will save time and make them today ;) ha ha ha sounds so funny saying I'll be working after so long not!)
    * think I will list some bits on fleabay this evening
    * water & pick veggies - OMG I have 3 aubergines growing :j I really didn't think it was going to happen as they kept fruiting and then dying off. This makes me so blinking happy!
    * sow some calabrese seeds (what we call broccoli is actually calabrese! Broccoli technically is the sprouting variety)
    * go for a run this evening - didn't manage this yesterday. Although I did charge my ipod so that's a start :rotfl:

    That'll do :D

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Thanks PF
Last night went well. They actually paid me which was very nice and unexpected. We got busy whilst I was there so they had me stay 3 hours.
Dont think OH had the easiest time with the baby whilst I was out. They were sat upstairs in the dark him having had no dinner so we ended up having our thai green curry together at 10.45pm :) then got the strawberry jelly out I'd made which she thought was hilarious. Wobbly slapable food!
    Feeling rather tired today.
    Have a good one all.

    Morning all,
Glorious day here but can't go & spend it doing much needed work in the veggie garden because I'm having to wait in for a blimming parcel from the Rainforest People. Hope it comes soon. Money saving things today:
*2 loads of laundry pegged out in sunshine (1 was done overnight on the half price tariff).
*Investigated latest energy bill. Good wodge of credit building for winter months. May request small refund. Still deciding.
*Triage of the fridge & vegetable basket to avoid food waste. Roasted veg for couscous to go with tonight's freezer dive meal. I will have that with grilled sardines. Mr f has found all sorts of things in a VERY energetic freezee dive & is going to construct himself a humungous stew. Have also sliced & frozen 2 unused peppers, used a manky lime & tracked down a pickle recipe to use up some courgettes.
*Baked biscuits to share with guests tomorrow.
*Made a loaf in the BM.
*Zizzed up a stale slice of bread for crumbs & froze.
*Used-it-up.....Still using up last bit of a lippy I like with a lipbrush. Then used the 'Bobarella Method' of extracting last bit of foundation from jar using a coffee stirrer.Another saving.....did not replace eyeshadow when it ran out. I won a pot of those bronzing pearls which I don't use, but they do make perfectly good eyeshadow. If anyone's going to tell me it's much cheaper to go without makeup.....no chance! I don't even hang the washing out without mascara on!!
Well....still no sign of this parcel. I can hear the door from the courtyard so maybe that's a good excuse to sit out there with a pile of magazines.
Have a good day all.....keep your hands on your pence.....it helps them turn into pounds.
    F xx

    Morning all :)
    Beautiful day here today :)

    So far I have:
    Taken dog for a run
    RM surveys tasks
Wrapped 3 ebay sales and posted them
Been to sales unit to add more stock as some bits sold yesterday :T
Found another half price pair of M&S jeans in the charity shop - no money in the pockets this time though :rotfl:

    Still to do:
Ironing - didn't do it yesterday :oDone :D
Make some blueberry muffins, as little GD is here tomorrow, and will be aghast if there is no cake in the cake stand / dome thingy. It is the first thing she checks :rotfl: Use ordinary bun cases instead of buying muffin cases, which I have run out of. A mini muffin is enough for GD (and me!!) Done, but I ate 2!! :o
Finished the last apple in the fruit bowl for my snack this morning :)
Use up bits in the fridge for my lunch and dinner - just me this week, I am very cheap to feed! Plus French beans and courgettes of course :p
Pick tomatoes and look to see how ripe the big bowl of them already in the kitchen is - if ripe enough, I will roast them for tomato sauce :)Made roast tomato sauce, froze it :D
Freeze some French beans - I have a tiny bit of room in the freezer! Managed to cram them in :D
Any online surveys that come my way Two or three for onepoll, slowing up now as it is approaching payout :rotfl:
Walk dog again later, he had a lovely play in the park this morning :)Done
Bit of paperwork for business Oops, must do this :o

Better get on! Hope you all have a nice day :)
  • Morning all :D
How is everyone today? I'm having yet another day of doing next to nothing. It's the only way that I can see of ever feeling less tired.
    Today's small things include
    :p check banking and PAD
:p update my signature on here :o
:p make myself a 100 square board for the rest of the vet bill
:p catch up on crochet and knitting
    :p feed bestie's cats while she's away
:p try and remain calm (particularly with ds)
:p go and collect the last bit of the kids uniforms from Mr A which are ordered and paid for
:p begin big shopping list for next month
:p take the kids out pokemon hunting

DNMS - I read the post that you put onto the thread from the pensioner with depression. I thought it was brilliant. I've kept my mouth firmly shut about it because I'm with the others that think he's making excuses, but I thought the advice you gave him was great.
Bob - good news on the job, although maybe less good at how frazzled your dh was..
