Morning all.
Yesterday I scrapped Mr A and we went p0kemon hunting instead in town to run errands there. We left about 12.30 and got back around 8pm
:o:eek::o We ordered takeaway as both of us were tired after walking 10 miles, almost 3 miles of which is up hill to get home so always takes longer than we thought lol
Today I was up at 6.15I've discovered that if I open the vertical blinds in my room so the morning light shines on my bed once I'm ready to get in it, I find it much easier to wake up when my alarm goes off.....not sure what I'm going to do when its dark mornings though :rotfl: WM number 3 on a second spin, and due to the threatening rain I'm using the TD. I want to start work, but my work laptop is taking an age to do it's virus scan. Its been on since 7am and still only 64% through so its handwritten work being started after we've done some jobs and had lunch.

DH corporation tax bill has just arrived. I actually want to cry. You can see why so many small businesses fold - the government make it ruddy hard for you to actually make any money nowadays, despite him grafting for 6 days a week, each week, 12 hours a day.
Off to empty our savings and have a little weep xMFW

*ouch* ATB. Everytime I hear an MP or a PM extolling the virtues that small businesses bring to the country I wonder when the last time was that they actually spoke to anyone who's tried starting a business recently. They really couldn't make it more difficult, could they?
Oh CY yuck, yuck and more yuck. Calm sofa day vibes heading your way.
Tidying going on in between sewing bouts. I'm reduced to making myself put three things away in my office every time I go in there to start the excavations that'll be nescessary to turn it into a spare room again for next Tuesday. It's looking a lot better already but there's a mountain to climb as usual. It truly is a room of doom.
Last week I was told about a local woman who makes fascinators and I need one to go with a dress that I'm planning on wearing to a wedding in September which has some lovely but rather unusual colours in it. She happens to be a clairvoyant who works locally, so I dropped in to see her this morning with the dress to ask her if she'd make me one to order. When I finally got the chance to speak to her she said, 'Now, tell me, what have you really come here for?' 'Er, ... a fascinator ....' (And the nano-second's temptation to have a sneak preview of the future also disappeared very quickly indeed.)
I'm sewing downstairs, ignoring the chaos upstairs, and the lavendar bags are looking rather spiffing.Better is good enough.0 -
Have you tried/ looked at uk.dogbuddy.com?cyclingyorkie wrote: »The bathroom has progressed. They don't have a cistern, but the toilet is useable.
How did they discover this?
Water at the bottom....... and skid marks.........
Ugh! My stomach turned when she told me.
She is adamant they were not told before yesterday. I am horrified. We had our bathroom done ten years ago. And every night the toilet was functional.
When our bathroom was done, we had one night when we had to flush with a bucket, but that was all. And deffo no skid marks!
It's a good thing I'm pretty much poo-immune, having "picked up" after so many dogs! :rotfl:
Thankfully it's not so fearfully oppressive today - Mr LW is busy ironing cotton hankies. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Evening all,
Just checking to to say hello as I've been away a couple of days.
No flying done, house a tip, no motivation to do anything. Went to a pre planned cinema trip with friend and her Dd, had to make excuses as to why the DD couldnt come over to play afterwards. I was just too ashamed. Its just awful at the moment and I've spent most of the day just looking at it.
Dizzy you have my sympathies. OH terrible with money, can't wait to spend whatever we earn. His business is doing well, I work part time, yet yesterday we were still scrabbling round for enough money for new tyres for the car. Put it away for the boys, but don't keep it a secret.
And ATB I sympathise re tax. I try and put money away to cover the bill, but it is a battle as OH always thinks there is time to save later in the year.
Hugs and love to all xx0 -
I'm home
:D:D:D
And pleased to be here! Just couldn't cope with all the fuss any longer, plus we were only staying till Fri anyway, and it was forecast thunder etc over there tonight.
Mum and co have stayed but me and kiddies are happy to get back to our own beds. And some peace. Not 10min would go by without one of them trying to jump out of a caravan window, or break something, or break each other. DD ran out of patience with the eldest, she was constantly in her face, and when DD didn't want to play anymore the other was trying to get her in trouble. DD got bopped on her hand with a massive stone despite me telling the other it would hurt if she hit anyone with it and to go put it somewhere away.
The younger two snatched / whinged / bit / ran away frequently. Was not relaxing at all.
Actually, I'll be honest, we had some nice times and the kiddies enjoyed most of it, but I ended up looking after more than just my own two as the other three were a bit much for even mum and stepdad together.
Anyway, it's done now, and even my wet conservatory ceiling isn't putting a damper on my spirits (D'ya see what I did there? Lol). Yes, we thought it was fixed but apparently not.
I'm going to have a nice hot shower then get in my own bed. Kids will have good soaks tomorrow - DD was actually laid in the sea yesterday - her hair is horrific!
Oooo I'm so pleased to be homeBossymoo

Evening all
I spent most of today working. DD spent most of the day in her room shredding paperwork for me and watching films. Apart from clearing the wash piles (ironing is still there), I really don't feel like I achieved much at all today. Roll on the 7th and DD going back to school, then I can get back into my routine and work more efficiently.
Tomorrow she's going out with friends again as she's going away on Tuesday until Thursday so won't be seeing them until she goes back to school then (although if she's getting on my nerves I might tell her to go out with them on the 5th just for the quiet so I can work as I have a deadline on the 6th!:o) but I've told her she has to help with jobs first so I've just printed out what's remaining of the lists and I'm going to add another sheet of handwritten jobs which needs to be done, like the weekly shop...and I have just realised I forgot to book dentist appointments so I need to squeeze them in or make them for the INSET day in Sept. (I've just sat and written all the school dates into my diary....very scary to think this year we need to attend the sixth form open evening and DD only has 7 months and 2 weeks until she breaks up ready for her exams!!). My list is growing by the second
I best get things written down and get off to bed. I can't believe its so late already. See you tomorrow :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -

Sorry about the tax bill ATB
It might be worth a chat with the college Mrs MP, as it seems lots of students have lower grades than expected. He might still get on the course he wants fingers xd.

Morning ladies,
Thanks for your kind thoughts. Feeling brighter today and I'm sure the sun helps. I am just so cross as DH had such a bad year last year with non payers etc we couldn't envisage how on earth there would be any tax to pay. But the accountant has thrown all this spiel at us to justify his workings, TBF I think he has made an error somewhere so I've asked for a fuller explanation. We shall see.
DW unloaded, WM on, all beds airing. We are going to the park when we are dressed then the library. Lazy pizza and garlic bread for tea. I will also be dusting off a pretty notebook and making plans for a frugal September (I'm sure I said that about August :rotfl:)
BM - big hugs honey. I'll do you a deal, you look after my two for a day and I'll clean up your gaff
Have lovely days all xxMFW
