    A very 'bitsa' day today.
    - brought in dry washing and kondo'd it
    - old rotary washing line decluttered to a new owner via Freecycle
    - picked loads (about 8 meal's worth) of French beans ready to freeze
    - checked a student essay
    - tried to book car in for work while we're on hols. Waiting to hear back. Half-heartedly looked at cars on line to see if there are any offers.
    - walked up to post a parcel
    - weeded one bed and planted out more leeks - I think the seedlings are breeding!
    - generally ambled round in the extreme heat putting 'stuff' away and piling holiday stuff onto spare bed.
    - tried unsuccessfully to get into my EE account on line to top up mobile. 2nd day running and often happens.

Need to do more but so hot here.

Love and hugs to Valli and family.

The bathroom has progressed. They don't have a cistern, but the toilet is useable.

    How did they discover this?

Water at the bottom....... and skid marks.........

Ugh! My stomach turned when she told me.

She is adamant they were not told before yesterday. I am horrified. We had our bathroom done ten years ago. And every night the toilet was functional.

Have been glued to sofa again today ladies. Cheering you on.

Welcome back lemanie - it's good to hear that you are settled in your new home.
    (((Hugs))) to mrs-mp.
    CY :eek::eek::eek:

We have had a good day today, apart from DGS1 bringing up his breakfast on the train (he did something similar last time they came). We got comfortable seats together on all three trains and got back to our local station at about 12.15. We decided to drive to a NT property for lunch, a run through the park (for the boys - I went in the shuttle buggy), a look round the house and lots of fun demolishing and then rebuilding the giant model of the house, finishing with ice cream. This evening DGS2 helped me make cakes, and both boys ate a hearty meal before going to bed without a word of protest. They really are a joy :)

DH is shattered and has fallen asleep in his chair. I am tired but not exhausted: I have even done 2 loads of washing today too :D

Must get to bed now - another busy day planned for tomorrow.

Thank you for ds2's birthday wishes. He had a good day. He chose what he wanted to do.

Another hot day here. 4x wm loads dried outside
DH had the day off (at DS2's request) and he fitted in cutting both lawns.
    I deadheaded the roses.
I will be glad when there is no more cake left.

Thanks for the warm welcome back, much appreciated. Have been catching up with folks, so sorry to hear the sad news about your sister Valli, and sending strength and calming vibes to all that need them, esp. CY.
Will get up and crack on with list shortly but have to wait for DH to vacate the space first:rotfl:

Morning ladies  grey and miserable here too...

Thank you for all the replies regarding my windfall. I've banked the cheque ready for onward savings once funds have cleared. I haven't told DH (yet) but not sure I can carry on with the secret. I'd hate it if he hid money from me, but he has an awful spendthrift streak when he sees extra £s, so I will tell him after I've moved the money. I am investing in my boys future, which I think is more important than the latest iPhone...

Small people have arrived with books...back later...
  • Morning all,

Sleepy ATB here, yesterday was exhausting! But they all had fun and I stayed sane so all is well.

A rainy day here so we will be at home doing the list and playing :)

Need another cuppa, DS woke at 4 and whilst he went back to sleep I didn't...

    Have lovely days all xx:)
