Dizzy, posts crossed. Put it in a trust fund for the boys.

This but f it's not a significant sum then an isa or something, for them or emergencies?

DS has been promoted. He is now supervisor and has to go in early! So three years at uni weren't wasted - the time he spent doing bar work has paid off:rotfl:

I think visiting will be hard today from the emotional PoV - if she's weepy I shall be. But part of the process, I suppose.

I have washing to go out.

    Morning all
Hugs and supporting vibes to all who need them.
Dh and ds1 have left for work, ds2 and two friends are snoring on the settees. Think I'll do the bathroom (it only needs a light do as its not had time to get mucky yet) then I'm going to sort some stuff in spare room. Sort of made an oral frog list last week with Dh so need to get that down on paper before I forget it.
One thing was glossing the door frames throughout, and decorating our room prior to having carpet redone in ours, hall and landing at half term.but think I'll wait for ds2 to get back to school before I tackle that.

Better make a start I suppose.

    Morning all.

ATB - I've been saying roll on September for a week now, 2 weeks tomorrow DD goes back to school. ;)

Dizzy - I'd put it into a trust for the boys as well.

Went to have my bath at 10pm, by the time I'd got my stuff out, managed to run a bath that wasn't freezing or my usual boiling it was 10.30pm. Then the smoke alarm went off (no signs of anything so I'm assuming it was someone walking past the house smoking strong cigarettes again), a moth decided to take up residence in the towel I was going to use and then when I got into the bath another moth appeared and ended up in the bath with me! So much for a relaxing bath before bed :(

Glad today is the bathroom as I cleaned it yesterday, so there is an advantage to having a tiny bathroom :p:rotfl: I have a whole host of other jobs to do as well including work so its good for me.

Magical Monday - Living Room, hall and stairs
    Level 1
Get a damp cloth and wipe light switches, remote controllers, door handles and anywhere else sticky fingermarks linger. Don't forget the banisters!
    Level 2
Vacuum all carpets, mop or sweep
    Level 3
    Clean the windows
    Vacuum soft furnishings
    Extras
    - Check your smoke alarms - BIG sticky note added to my noticeboard/calender to buy new batteries to go in them. I always replace them around this time of year and want to do it this Sunday coming (memorable date for me)
    - Read this if you haven't done so already; it's the MSE death check list. It's a whole lot easier sorting out when the grim reaper isn't beckoning you and yours. And if you need to do something make a start.
    - HHI - let's get that laundry mountain conquered!

    Twinkling Tuesday - Bathroom Bliss
    Extras
    Mop the bathroom floor

Time to get a small shopping list together so I can send DD to the shops for it while I get dailies done. ;) Then she can go out with friends for a few hours while I get on with work.

Dizzy, put the money into a trust fund for the boys, and tell your DH what you've done after it's safely locked away. It's your personal inheritance so you can do what you like with it, but the boys belong to both of you so he deserves to know that you are thinking ahead to provide for their future needs, even if it hasn't yet struck him that he should be taking some responsibility for them too. Doing this will not make you a bad person.

Bossy, I hope you enjoyed the sunrise and managed to get another hour's sleep.

Well done to your DS, Valli :j
I will be thinking of you and your sis at visiting time: yes, the process is sometimes painful, and you will both be grieving for what might have been, but hopefully you can also rejoice in what has been and still is. Love is far stronger than death x

    :T to mrs-mp on all the re-boxing.

    So far today I have
    - S&S'd kitchen
    - done WMx1 (towels on a hot wash!)
    - decluttered 2 lb at SW =1.5 lb that I had put on last week, plus another 0.5 :D
    - talked to the pharmacist and got some different non-prescription painkillers which give me a smaller dose but spread more evenly throughout the day: hopefully this will keep my mind clear whilst dulling the pain
    - had a phonecall from DS1 :)

    I still have to
    - update finances
    - send 2 emails
    - finish typing up a form from yesterday's meeting with my supervisor and send it to him
    - backup main PC
    - clean bathroom
    - dust bedrooms
    - make up beds for DGS1+2 :j :j
    - hang out towels
    - hair appointment at 2.30
    - collect form from GP and go to hospital for blood test
    - pay charity cheque into PO in town
    - call at printshop to order banners and business cards
    - do top-up shop to feed grandchildren
    - half an hour tidying the back garden
    - quick read through 150 pages of DS2's dissertation to get the gist of it before doing the proper proof read tomorrow
    - phone a friend and DD
    - set up the laptop

Best get a move on... Catch up later!

I've decided to scrap the faffing jobs I was thinking of doing and I'm munching a goliath frog instead, the scan/shred pile. Its probably going to take me most of the day (if not longer), but it'll clear a pile of papers that's been sitting by my desk for 2 years making it easier for me to keep my desk area clear. ;)

I'm doing laundry at the same time so I'm not spending too long sat here waiting for the scanner but its such a boring job.... off to hang out another wash load.

LW is there another dog sitting franchise in your area that would take you on there is obviously a need for such a service in your area as you are kept busy.
Yes there is, and once the dust has settled (metaphorically - there's no real dust in a Flylady's house, after all :rotfl: ) I shall apply to them.
The only issue they might have is with me being disabled.
But if they decide they don't want me, we'll look into fostering a dog.
By hook or by crook, I WILL have dogs in my life.

Flying today includes giving Jack a good brush and doing his eyes - he's an English Springer Spaniel, and they are prone to "teary" eyes, which means they get all the fur under their eyes gunged up. He's brought some special wipes with him to sort this out; and he's very good about having it done. :A
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

LW Make sure you get a reference from your current franchisee before they shut down.
I've given the bathroom a quick swish round, decided aquarium, stand and assorted accessories can go to the CS so that is now all pack and ready to go along with three other large bags of stuff I've Kondoed from spare room-I so want a narnia style sign for the door proclaiming that when its clear enough to describe as spacious enough to be spare room.

Ds2 has cadged a lift with Dh as he has eye test this afty, he's taken a friend with him so not sure what time they'll be back.

I've thrown a few more bits in the skip and recycled some more paper and card.

Holiday cases and a few bits that need to go into the attic are on landing awaiting DHs return, I've been told I'm not allowed to use the new ladder till he's home as we have to follow safety checks. I'm sure I'd be fine as the old creaky ladder supported me and various weighty items I was bringing down but I'll humour him (especially as I'm still getting intermittent headaches, which I'll mention to the nurse on Friday when I get the stitches out)

Wm is almost done do I'm going to get the stuff hung out now as its glorious out there.

This house cleaning stuff is exhausting

My F-I-L passed away 2 weeks ago, we live next door and had been looking after him for the last few weeks (and helping out before that)

Now his house needs clearing and his demise has prompted a lot of reflection and soul searching...so we are decluttering/downsizing so that we can live more simply , in a more organised way and more cheaply

    And I'm exhausted!

I know it will all be worth it but it's hard!
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

Hugs msgnomey, make sure you take time to look after yourself and allow time to grieve. My thoughts are with you and your family.
