    Good morning all,

Big hugs to msgnomey and Valli - you are both in my thoughts xx

Dizzy - I think you should tell DH about the money but make it clear it's going into savings for the boys. That said, I would implore you to keep a bit back for yourself, for something you would like, even if it's just a massage and facial. Like all us fly ladies, you put everyone else first and it would be nice for you to have some you time xx

Yesterday disappeared in a flash, dealing with probate issues for grandma and having various relations on the phone wanting me to attend their pity parties. So many people have made the death *their* problem, that no-one else could understand. I actually hung up on one of them, as everything I said made them madder and they were actually annoyed at me for "not listening properly". I had taken my children to a soft play centre !!!!!!, hardly an appropriate place for such a convo and they wouldn't accept that. It's also a very odd role reversal - everyone who called me is much older than me - one was my mother - and they are leaning on me for support - yet none of them ask how I am. I think I need to take a step back and focus on my little family.

Today promises to be warm, so I'm taking the 6 kids out for the day. I'll need a clipboard and headcounts to keep track of them all!

    Have lovely days all xx

    Happy 14th birthday to dancemum's DS 2

Morning all  We are flying down the scenic route to London. The train is by no means crowded (Jeremy Corbyn, you should try the lovely Chiltern Line) so I am sitting with my foot up, resting it on my crutch which is bridging the gap to the seat opposite (my legs aren't long enough to reach otherwise :p). I refuse point blank, to adopt the periscope position that my DS1 recommends - not in public, anyway :rotfl:

As soon as I've finished my share of the bacon [STRIKE]sardine[/STRIKE] sarnie I will start work. One hour to meeting DGS1+2, then no more peace for the wicked!

    Enjoy your day out, ATB!

Will catch up again this evening during Bake-Off x

    Hi all

Need to be getting ready for work, havent read properly. Dizzy probably the right thing to do is tell him that you have received the money but that you are putting it away for the future but will this make your life really difficult? Remember it's your money. Maybe take a little bit out to buy some nice things for the house when everything is finished so that benefits you all and save the rest?

Spent all of yesterday evening in A&E with DS1 after a fall from his bike. Torn ligaments thankfully, nothing broken. Didnt get home until just after midnight.

So its lots of paid stuff today but the kitchen does need a good clean. Back later x

Busy day today so up early and ahead of the game. WUDU, dishwasher emptied, WM on, kitchen wiped down, shopping list made and emails checked. Phew! Now for the paid stuff...

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Thanks Valli
Having submitted my portfolio, moved house, been to a conference and a busman's holiday whilst trying to keep up with work and deep clean the new house during the last month, I think I am ready to keep up with some of the weekly lists. I have been doing dailies and keeping things tidy plus we had a very big fling session prior to the move (no choice, gone from a 4 bed 3 reception house to a 2.5 bed bungalow!) so things are looking pretty good, it's that, regular, stay on top of things routine I need, so I'm in and will try to stay that way. Thanks everyone.

    Morning all.

Msgnomey - Thoughts with you and your family xx

    ATB - hugs for you.

Yesterday I cleared 2 sets of paper, still 14+ to go. Its nearly all the paperwork from the financial year that ex left and then I started a training scheme so there's almost weekly letters from the job centre telling me they've paid me, plus changes to how much they paid me etc. Its almost a full leaver arch folder full! Hopefully by the end of this I should be able to free up more space. I also discovered that half the pile is just stuff to shred :D I'll set DD on that job at the weekend while she watches the end of the films she's recorded ;)

Today, we have to return some school blouses to Mr A. Trying to get DD's size (17-18) in ours is almost impossible so I picked up 2 packs of 3/4 sleeved ones when I saw them. DD complained as she wanted long sleeved, so while we took a day trip to Wigan the other week we popped into their bigger store and found them there so I'm returning the ones I bought here ;) I've also got DD checking she doesn't need anything else for school. I think we're done but I can almost guarantee that next week she'll declare she's not got something which she told me she has, if that makes sense. I'm debating whether to renew her bus pass now, or leave it until next week... either way we have to go into town for the stuff I forgot last time...:o

We were up early today so WM x2 already done, DD is just doing dailies upstairs, I'm going to do a bit of ironing while we wait for phones to finish charging (Poke go is a major drain on the batteries!) then we're going to head out before it gets too warm.

Magical Monday - Living Room, hall and stairs
    Level 1
Get a damp cloth and wipe light switches, remote controllers, door handles and anywhere else sticky fingermarks linger. Don't forget the banisters!
    Level 2
Vacuum all carpets, mop or sweep
    Level 3
    Clean the windows
    Vacuum soft furnishings
    Extras
    - Check your smoke alarms BIG sticky note added to my noticeboard/calender to buy new batteries to go in them. I always replace them around this time of year and want to do it this Sunday coming (memorable date for me)
    - Read this if you haven't done so already; it's the MSE death check list. It's a whole lot easier sorting out when the grim reaper isn't beckoning you and yours. And if you need to do something make a start.
    - HHI - let's get that laundry mountain conquered!

    Twinkling Tuesday - Bathroom Bliss
    Extras
    Mop the bathroom floor

Wishy Washy Wednesday - Kitchen Kapers
    Level one - the tops
    Wipe the tiles
    Level Two - the fronts
Wipe down all cupboard doors and handles
    wipe any other shelves
    Wipe the fascias
    Wipe the white goods
Level 3 - hit the deck
    Clear and clean the floor
    Extras
HHI - I can provide some for you if you haven't any

    Time to get moving.

(((HUGS))) to Valli, CY, Msgnomey, atb and anyone else needing them.

Dizzy I can't answer your dilemma, but I will say that if it was me, and married to Mr LW, I'd tell him, and then do what I wished with the money (in your case, squirrel it away for the children); if I was still married to XH I'd keep quiet about it and squirrel it away where he'd never find it in a million years.

LW - I agree to make sure you get references. I'm sure you have a record of all the dogs you've looked after as well. You sound like the ideal person for any dog-sitting service to use. Good luck and fingers xd you keep having dogs in your world.
I do indeed have a record of all 60 of 'em, plus a "rogues' gallery" of their holiday photos. I have a booking from 1st to 10th Sept that sneaked in under the wire; but I have to go and collect the little guy myself - I'm pretty certain his owner will give me a glowing reference; as will Mr LW's pal, who has known me for 14 years, and whose Black Lab I looked after many times.

Mr LW had "flown" on the patio - there was a load of detritus that the birds pushed down off the roof of the bungalow, so he's swept it all up.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    I hate nature!

Seriously what am I doing here

Out for a stroll as the squawking is annoying me and awning so full of condensation that its dripping on me.

Rather than disturb everyone I've gone out. It's just about light so hoping to see a proper sunrise.

Seagulls are going bananas - like a bunch of sirens lol.

Foster kids have nits so I had to comb 5 last night, to make sure they don't spread to the rest of us.

And I want my own bathroom lol.

    /rant

    As you were!

    :D

Sorry Bossy, but I LOVED this! A much needed bit of light relief while thinking about how hard we find it to deal with the basic fundamentals in life.

Dizzy, if your OH is as bad with money as I think he must be judging by your comments, he sounds a lot like my older brother. Every single time he was told about someone having money he had a 'good' reason to ask to 'borrow' it. If you tell your OH please let it be after you've put it somewhere safe where you can't get at it for his benefit.

Sad to hear about the advance of your father's alzheimer's, Mrs MP. (((Hugs))) Horrible for you.

    *Healing vibes*, Ionafan.

Four loads through the WM and dangled yesterday, overnight and this morning but I've run out of space now, plus one from the lodger. Dog taken to hydrotherapy yesterday so he's pretty exhausted today which means I can get on with things. Chalet repairs organised; the friend who did some boundary drawings for us to forestall hugely expensive potential disputses in the future took as payment a week at the chalet with the grandchildren. He must be a true Mr Fix It because he keeps ringing up to tell us what he's done and to ask if we want anything else done. The maintenance backlog list is no more. (I foresee more holibobs for that family in the future!)

Flying minimal but the grubby bits that show are getting a quick swish and swipe as and when I have five mintues.

Making another batch of microwave strawberry jam because the last one has been completely scoffed, mostly by me. I've also mended a ripped duvet cover - it's not pretty but the mend's on the underside so it shouldn't matter. I've finished the first patchwork quilt, made four shopping bags and am just about to embark on some lavendar bags. Bliss.
    Better is good enough.
