Morning all
Thank you for the lists natty and Valli, I'm in this week.
Hugs good wishes posi vibes sticks and spoons where needed
Valli, please take it easy yourself, sending supporting and healing vibes to both you and your sister.
Iona hope your leg pain eases
CY hope you are as well as poss and getting plenty of rest
Dancemum glad the wedding anni party went well
Dh has gone back to work and my headaches are easing. Did make a rather rash purchase yesterday wilko have vastly reduced their storage boxes and was only saying last week I never seem to have cupboard of doom (under stairs crafting cupboard) tidy as its all in mismatched different sized boxes that fall off each other when door is opened and I have to get everything out to find what I'm looking for. So think mornings task is getting everything out and sorting it into categorised boxes so it's all tidy and easy to get at.
I've already read the death list (thank you for that link) Dh and I had convo that we do need to talk to his mum, so Im going ask him to read the list tonight to give him a starting point. She's 89 soon not in best of health but avoids any convo about things like that, I need her and Dh to have some sort of talk. It was hard enough when his dad passed.
Took my dad and step mum out at weekend told step mum she needs to look after herself and get some sort of power of attorney in place, it was heartbreaking how quiet and withdrawn dad was, his condition has definately deteriorated since when went out together in Feb, altzimers is so cruel, I'm not convinced he even recognised me has he didn't call me by my name once.
On happier note skip might go this week, need to ring to get my stitches out (headaches are easing and don't feel quite like I'm going to have an imminent nose bleed) and got all the kids together yesterday so that dd3 could give her sisters "will you be my bridesmaid cards"SPC~12 ot 124

Morning all!
We've been up since 6.30am to get back into the habit before school starts in 2 weeks.DD has already washed up and one load has been through the WM, second one is in. My work delivery has arrived, and we've both eaten breakfast. This is almost unheard of these past few weeks.
I'm kicking DD out for a bit as she wants to hit some local p0kest0ps and I want to get my dailies done without her under my feet. A little cruel, but every time I've gone in a room to do a job the past few weeks she's come to pester me about something or sent Zack up to see me. This way we can both get things we want done done.I did suggest she took Zack with her, but he's very excitable today and the park will be filled with people walking their dogs so a very bad mix.
Time for me to get moving for a HHC although it'll probably end up extending to 10am :rotfl: Dailies of making beds etc here I come! :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
This has worked out nicely
Bathroom given a quick clean & a demould, beds made, bedrooms tidy, livingroom is as tidy as it can be until I clear work stuff, kitchen given a quick clean including the window sill and sink and a third load in the WM. I'm now sitting down to drink a coffee and crush some candy while I wait for DD to come in.I even got to listen to my music without DD complaining its awful despite a lot of the songs being on her playlists as well :rotfl:
Plan for the rest of today is to work and clear the multitude of papers which need scanning then shredding. Not much point cleaning the livingroom until thats doneSee you later

In for the first time in a long time.
Magical Monday - Living Room, hall and stairs
Level 1
Bin the gibble - get a bin bag fill it and throw it
Plump the cushions
Get a damp cloth and wipe light switches, remote controllers, door handles and anywhere else sticky fingermarks linger. Don't forget the banisters!
Level 2
Vacuum all carpets, mop or sweep
Shake the doormat outside
Rehome anything that doesn't belong here
Level 3
Dust and polish
Clean the windows
Vacuum soft furnishings
Extras
Check your smoke alarms - if you've been away you might have missed the annoying, persistent beep. If you do not have smoke alarms, get them. In some areas the fire service will bring them and fit them. They will also advise on the best location. And firemen are (usually) cute so it's a win-win.
Read this if you haven't done so already; it's the MSE death check list. It's a whole lot easier sorting out when the grim reaper isn't beckoning you and yours. And if you need to do something make a start.
HHI - let's get that laundry mountain conquered!
Do something relaxing for you. Decide what your me-time treat will be and add it to your list - and you are entitled to your me time EVEN IF YOU DON'T COMPLETE THE LIST0 -
Morning all. Nice day here so planning on going out for a bit and then tackling the list later on this afternoon.
Sending continued hugs and prayers for CY, Valli and families xx
Dad and I have always talked about funeral planning etc., especially since my brother died so unexpectedlyAlso, years ago my cousin died with nothing in place and it was a nightmare for my Aunty to deal with. Dad has everything sorted and we both know where each other's important paperwork is and so on.
Mum, however, refuses to talk about it and I haven't a clue what, if anything, is in place.
Thank you, Valli, for drawing everyone's attention to the MSE death plan info - it really is important even if it seems horrid to discuss xx
OK, list is ready - I'll be back later on for an HHC or 6!!!

Hi all; I'm in as much as I can this week (not feeling too chipper today I'm afraid).
However, I did all the vacuuming yesterday, so I'm ahead on that.
And we've just had a new smoke alarm fitted - there's a story behind that (feel free to skip if you've better things to do).
Basically, the dog-sitting franchise is closing, so I'm being made "redundant". I'd thought of going freelance, and one of the things that entails is a council permit; to get that, one of the requirements is an inspection by the Fire Brigade.
In the end, I'm not going to do the freelance bit; I'm not well enough to cope with the stress - I actually made myself quite ill through stress just doing the research!
But having found out how to get the Fire Brigade inspection, and as they come and chat to you, and check you're doing all the right things to stay fire-safe, for free, we decided to have them round anyway. I mentioned that our smoke alarm goes off every time DH makes toast, and they put us a lovely new one up, all part of the service! :T
Re the Death List - I've read through it (ta muchly for the link) and we're up to scratch, I believe. We have wills, plus Power of Attorney for each other should one of us be too incapacitated to make decisions; and we've stated our funeral wishes also - I felt this was very important, because mine are a tad unusual. (For those who don't know, I'm a Pagan).
Hmm..... me-time. What's that, then? Can I count taking Jack for his afternoon walk?:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Thank you for all the lists xxx
When my mother passed away, all we have to do for the funeral, was agree the time and date, everything else was in place and had been for some years inc the readings etc.
Washing out of line
Cat's basket washed
Sorting of garage done
Tip run done
Whole house hoovered

Sitting in the van outside Small's karate club listening to mellow songs on the radio with a cuppa in my thermos...lovely...
I worked so hard on the caravan this morning that when my friend turned up unexpectedly to return my raincoat, I wasn't too embarrassed to invite her in for cuppa. Dogs behaved too and Small got to play with his chum, so everyone was happy
Took the skids to the station early doors as DSS wanted to be back in Sussex for a party later today, but they're both back up again on Friday for the weekend, so I've now got to restock the cupboards, as a swarm of locusts has swept through them, by the looks of things
WM on it's fourth load, and the TD is on it's third. A joint of beef is simmering away nicely in the slow cooker, so DH should be happy when he gets home.0 -
LW is there another dog sitting franchise in your area that would take you on there is obviously a need for such a service in your area as you are kept busy.
Busy day here, I've moved lots round and now the spirits (drinkable variety) are out of the ottoman in our room and in the lounge sideboard, the wool stash from downstairs ottoman is in its new boxes, all stash from understairs cupboard is also in its new boxes and most of it is back neatly stacked in the cupboard. The ottoman in our round now has room to hold the spare bedding.
Just about to squeeze some of the broken old boxes into the skip that's still here, going to put the codes from the daily mail into the iPad then I can recycle them. The good boxes are earmarked for use in our wardrobe after the room is decorated.
Found a basket of felt pens in the cupboard so going to grab a cuppa then test to see which work or don't and bin the rubbish ones.
Sounds like a good day dizzy enjoy your cuppa.SPC~12 ot 124

Evening all :hello:
Plan for today didn't go as smoothly as I'd hoped. I didn't get around to doing any scanning/shredding but work is more or less up to date nowToday I've managed to wash the throws from the sofas (cover will get washed tomorrow) as well as all the clothing/towels that needed doing. Tonight DD and I started a night time routine. So far so good in that the washing up is done and DD has put the stuff away, the kitchen has been S&S for a third time today, downstairs has been swept and we've also cleared some jobs from the actual list

- Check your smoke alarms - BIG sticky note added to my noticeboard/calender to buy new batteries to go in them. I always replace them around this time of year and want to do it this Sunday coming (memorable date for me)

Plan now is to put a few things away, get the stuff out for tomorrow, put the blind & towels back in the bathroom, my laundry away, then I'm going to go for a bath and to bed.I think DD wants to go out with her friends tomorrow so I'm not sure what I'll be up to, but I'm hoping tomorrow is as productive as today has been.
