Such a partisan. We'll never know if the UK would've prevailed - I regret they never tried.
it would seem to me that the UK tried for 40 years
That's nice - we agree.
Watch my lips...I doubt Brexit will impact either free trade with Africa or make houses in the South-East more affordable in any meaningful way.
Can you see that's not the same as saying free trade can't improve people's lives or reduced demand for housing can't reduce prices? Yeah, course you can - forumonics.[/QUOTE]
Well, trade decisions will be made by companies and not governments but I think that if the UK government reduces EU tariffs and EU rules and regulations the trade will increase with Africa (and other countries).
If immigration drops to the 10s of thousands and we continue to build even at the present low rates, then prices will increase at a lower rate or decrease. However significant I don't know.
I find it a little odd that you think we could have influenced the Eu but are unable to make good decisions if left to our own sovereignty.0 -
The big problem I see right now is that inflation combined with meaninglessly low interest rates is an absolute perfect storm for encouraging future consumer debt. The only winners are businesses (a good thing) and those who are already overstretched and would soon be rudderless without this combination (a bad thing, as these people clearly haven't learned from their mistakes and will be in even direr straights when the economy normalises).0

low interest rates means low mortgage payments, that's why the boe arent putting them up today (newsflash)“Life isn't about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.”

Why!......I trust them more than I trust the tory 'govmt' in England. At least the commissioners don't have their own agenda and their Court is impartial. Let me ask you.....when was the last time you voted for a Judge in our 'Supreme Court'! They are all appointed.Fox, Davis and Johnson have nothing to offer me and I have nothing to offer them! They are deciding our Brexit policy without being elected by the way!
The ECJ are interpreting EU treaties in ways that were never foreseen by the signatories. As an example, free movement related only to movement of Labour until the court decided that it meant anyone could go to live anywhere they felt like it. There's nothing impartial about the court when it comes to extending the EU's reach.0 -
