Freedom to be ruled by incompetent Tory 'born to rule' types. Bliss.
Maybe it would have been good if the Brexiteers had defined what Brexit meant before we all voted on it. They told us about the Norway option, the Switzerland option, the Canada option...
Now the Brexitmorons are coming up with new and official definitions after the vote. It seems to be the Albania option.:rotfl:0 -
Is this the freedom decided for us by the characters that own Mrs May:-
Brexit Cabinet
Keith Rupert Murdoch
Jonathan Harold Esmond Vere Harmsworth, 4th Viscount Rothermere
Richard Clive Desmond
Sir David Rowat Barclay
Sir Frederick Hugh Barclay
Your freedom is an illusion mate. You've just been told by an unelected PM that there will be no binding vote on the nature of the Brexit in our sovereign parliament. It'll all sink in soon enough. For some idiots we'll fighting each other in the streets for food before it does........thats the tragedy of it.
And we've been told by the unelected commissioners of the EU that the price of doing business with them is to open our borders and submit to their courts. We should tell them to stuff it.0 -

I wonder what happened to that option.Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

If they aren't going to offer us a deal, why has the EU appointed negotiators? If I don't reply to your post,
you're probably on my ignore list.0 -

Perhaps the biggest risk is a self inflicted recession hitting both UK and the EU countries at a particularly bad time.
The boss of VW/Audi won't be gloating over getting one over the Brits as he/she watches one of their important export markets tank.
What will win the day? EU political pride or plain old business pragmatism.0 -

German industry will not want to undermine the Single Market by pandering to British interests.
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/oct/13/german-trade-bodies-back-angela-merkels-tough-stance-over-brexitTwo of the largest German trade associations have come out in support of Angela Merkel taking a firm stance during negotiations over Britain’s exit from the EU, even if it comes at a short-term cost.
Speaking at a briefing in Brussels, the presidents of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK) and the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts (ZDH) said that granting Britain an opt-out from the four freedoms – free movement of goods, services, capital and persons – could amount to the “beginning of the end” of the single market.
“You cannot say: ‘I take part on three counts but not on the fourth,’” said the DIHK’s Eric Schweitzer. Untangling the unity of the four freedoms, he argued, “creates the risk that the whole of Europe would fall apart”.
“The economic consequences would be dramatic. The single market has played an important part in us having growth and prosperity in Europe.”Don't blame me, I voted Remain.0 -

So, to answer your question, plain old business pragmatism will prevail.
why ever are so many remainers firmly against tariff free trade : is it because they may have to treat people from non christian, non white, non europeans as equals?
EU protectionism is not the future even if the remainers here are in love with it.0 -

Precisely.
We want nothing from the EU except a trade agreement. This is why we are in a strong position, we need nothing else.0 -

If a free trade agreement isn't reached with the EU then it's a certainty that the UK will be engaging in less free trade for a period of time.
If we agree free trade is a good thing how long will it take to increase free trade with others to undo the damage?0
