It's not a village, you know.
Yes, beautiful weather in much of the UK for most of this week.
It did occur to me that the person in Ibiza may have been a bit miffed about that and sent his photograph on the first rainy day we had.
A lot of people get a bit put out if they pay to go abroad for the sunshine, and we end up with a heatwave at home. Especially as people at home love to point it out.
Competitive weather syndrome seems to be a bit of a national sport.:)

Days after I make a comment, complete strangers are still discussing and dissecting it.
I find it sad that instead of spending your weekend with friends or family, folk chose to spend your weekend discussing me, ..and to several people on here I am obviously more important than the family members you are currently sitting in the same room as, ignoring
Go play with your kids, spend time with your family. For the avoidance of doubt, people are not discussing you. A few people have made one or two posts each, over the course of two days, commenting on something you posted. This probably took each person no more than 5 minutes of their weekend.
The attitude you displayed in your post was controversial, and has inspired some discussion. However, this does not mean people are preoccupied, or even particularly interested, in you personally.
You are not being singled out or stalked, and I find it sad that your state of mind is such that you accuse strangers of this, merely because they have made comments you don't like, or think you wouldn't like if you'd seen them. I think you need to get some perspective.
As for your sneering at people contributing here rather than spending time with family and friends; given the multiplicity of reasons why this may not be possible for some posters, I find this in poor taste, and insensitive in the extreme.Georgiegirl256 wrote: »Days after? As it was not even a day, you don't have a very good concept of time do you? You also obviously don't understand the concept of irony very well either...
Agree with Detroit and Georgie. What on earth made ska lover think me or anyone else were actually discussing her?! Some people do love to flatter themselves don't they?!
And as Georgie said, irony alert! Accusing people of being on here and not with their families and friends, when she is on here herself! Go figure!
And what makes her think that people on the internet are ignoring their family?! On the tiny amount of time I have been on here this weekend (an hour at most!) I have been chatting to my OH at the same time, whilst watching Orange is the new black on netflix!
How bizarre to assume or think that whenever anyone is on the internet, they must be ignoring everyone else in the house. And as Detroit said, some people don't HAVE anyone else, so yes, that was a very rude and insensitive remark to make.cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
I can't be bothered to read the whole thread either but I'll add my 2 pennorth!
I've never had a holiday abroad, haven't been able to afford one in the past but just getting to the point in my life where I could afford it. Lately we've been holidaying in Scotland, twice a year for the last few years, and I must say they've been amazing holidays with lovely scenery. Almost everyone I work with go abroad at least once a year and everyone of them are more interested in my holidays than they are there own and it seems they all want to visit the places I've been. I will one day go abroad, when I get round to buying a passport but in the meantime I would actually like to visit Wales as well.0 -

I've been fortunate enough to visit many places (not boasting I promise!) And have to say North Wales is one of the most beautiful I've ever been.
The mountains and coastline are breathtaking, and the sunset over the sea is incredible.
You should definitely visit if you haven't.

Hey Dusty, nice to meet you!Yes I agree 100% with Detroit that Wales is such a pretty country - as is the rest of the UK.
We live in such a beautiful place, and there are so many awesome and stunning places here. And as many have said, Wales is fab... I love Snowdonia, and the Brecon Beacons, and Barmouth, and Abersystwyth, (and all the rest of the Abers!) And there are some great beaches.
However, it's just nice to visit other countries sometimes, and experience different cultures, and see how others live. I have a couple of friends who had never been abroad and couldn't be bothered because why should they? Then they were convinced to go, and went for the first time at 40-45, and wondered why they'd never done it before. One friend visited Egypt for her first trip abroad, (7 years ago,) and has been to 16 countries since! She can't stop travelling now, and has severe wanderlust!
I love travelling and always have, but have no problem with people who don't leave the UK. As I said though, I do feel they're missing out, and I do know many people who didn't travel til their 40s, and wished they'd done it before.
As for people who say they can't afford it; well, some trips abroad are cheaper than a holiday in the UK, so I don't get that at all!cooeeeeeeeee :j :wave:0 -
Thank you fierystorm. I will get a passport and travel abroad one day soon, I've promised the oh and kids.
Both my kids have been abroad with friends, and the oh when he was younger has as well, I'm the odd one out in the family :rotfl:0
