educate yourself and have a trip to Dubai and walk in the streets at night and compare it to London. I dont blame you. I blame your education and the fact that may of you are so ignorant an arrogant that cannot see that there are positive points in other countries.
UAE is much a safer country than many european countries (how dare do you think european countries are safe given the recent terrors)? And as far as I know, there is no slave in Qatar but there are many in this country who has to work hard and pay 45% forcefully to the beloved looting state.
Ill give you arrogant, that i am. Ignorant probably much less so although clearly dont know everything.
Im pretty well travelled, having lived in over 8 different countries.
Cant be bothered looking for specific sources but if you click the link you can peruse at your leisure. Im fairly sure that people are being treat like slaves in Qatar.

Must admit ive never been to Dubai. Thats mainly due to the fear of being arrested for basic things like taking a photo, kissing my fiance, slapping her !!! when shes in a bikini, eating in public at night time, using prescribed drugs, drinking alcohol or having sex with my fiance. Im very happy to pay taxes for those privileges.
O and dont really believe in terrorism. Anyone who commits heinous acts on another is a terrorist. If your talking a Islamic militant with explosives or an AK, again im not overly concerned. The fact of the matter is, im more likely to be killed cycling to work every morning than i am from a islamic militant with an AK. Also had a place in france, beautiful country and the people (whilst arrogant but yet i appreciate it) are amazing and kind. Although they have some different laws regarding property, youre a lot more locked in and would imagine you might have a bit more success with sueing someone if you tried buying there? Give it a look, can particularly recommend the Charente region.0 -
Well, that escalated quickly.0

Hi,
We placed an offer on a property because it was chain free. I am a first time buyer and renting a place so I could risk waiting for the chain. Agency confirmed that there is no forward chain and I placed an offer subject to the fact that it is chain free.
Now just before exchange of contract it turns out that the property is not chain free and the seller needs the money to purchase another property. At first they told me that they have already bought the other property and they just wait for me but now due to the chain they cannot complete the purchase and so they cannot exchange the contract!
It is very frustrating for me. I would not have placed an offer had I known it was not chain free. Can I now sue them for dishonesty, misleading information and the fact that the we placed an offer based on this condition?
Thanks
I think you've made a typo. Did you mean couldn't risk waiting for the chain? Because the way I, and probably most of the forum read it was that because you were renting, waiting for the chain wasn't a problem. Could explain some of the comments...0 -
That country is in Middle East and yes they put phrases in the offer that anyone who said something wrong could be sued and has to pay a huge penalty (up to 10% of the purchase price).
Are you quite certain you're correctly informed about these laws? At what stage do such rights kick in?0 -
On what basis? There is no contract? Simply an expression of interest in buying and selling by the two parties. Either side can walk away for any reason (or no reason) during the due diligence process before contracts are exchanges. It happens all the time.
Part of the peculiar system of conveyancing in England & Wales, and a source of frustration to Brits and Foreigners alike!
I agree, and he would be highly unlikely to win (as I said) but that doesn't stop you claiming and if the court ruled he was deliberately misled then could rule in his favour. Of course, he'd have to prove they said they were chain free and it was a limiting factor in his offer.
Slim chance to none though!0 -

when people signed the sale memorandum in the agency. then they proceed to the other stuffs and prepare the documents for formal deed transfer. There always be a phrase for penalizing anyone who said lie or walk away. even there is phrase that determining the completion date and any party who cannot honor it have to pay per day penalty.0 -

I was a pretty hardcore Remain voter, but this thread has got me wondering if the Brexit lot were on the money.0

It's not a fraud. You haven't lost anything. If you feel misled, don't buy from this seller.0
