  • Lunch today was leftover stirfry - let's be generous and call it 2 portions...
Dinner just now was crispy chilli beef w/rice and carrots and broccoli.

I will have bananas w/hazelnut and chocolate spread and raspberries in an hour or so.

    Totals today: 4:1

Blueberries with skyr for breakfast . Salad with what I could find in the garden-a few french beans, about 6 cherry tomatoes plus the last couple of inches of a cucumber and a grilled pepper and quinoa for lunch followed by a peach . A kiwi fruit mid afternoon then pasta with tomato sauce , sausage and grilled pepper for dinner followed by greengages. Not sure quite how many portions that is. I know I need to eat more veg and perhaps less fruit but I do like fruit.

My problem is that my portions aren't quite enough to count as "1 of my 5 a day" but today I have had:

    1 tbsp raisins
    1 tomato
    2 mini cucumbers
    1/2 snack-sized pack of grapes (about 10-15)
    1 tbsp peas and sweetcorn
    1/4 onion
    1 sweet potato
    1 tbsp kidney beans
    1 snack-sized Apple

I feel a bit of a sea change now, having served up a veg-based dinner yesterday and been given praise for it, I'm now starting to look forward to how much veg I can stuff into my day. I'm also starting to feel physically better for eating more veg rather than carbs recently (so long Weetabix :o), and seeing the contents of my fridge dwindling daily is very satisfying. Today has been a 4.5:2 day.

I don't get it, on the days I drink (usually 1/2 bottle of white wine) I barely eat! Vino is a fast track to a no-veg day for me :(
