I really struggle sometimes to get my 5 a day as I don't like a lot of veg, though I do try to disguise it in my meals. I prefer softer fruit such as berries which can be expensive to buy at certain times of the year. I definitely eat more fruit than veg over a week, and fail miserably most weekends to get even a couple of portions of either fruit or veg. I am trying to lose weight and generally be more healthy so I'll give this challenge a go.
Today:
Breakfast included baked beans - 1 veg/pulse portion
Lunch was salad with tomatoes and beetroot - probably 2 veg portions in all
Snacks today have been strawberries and grapes, 80g of each - 2 fruit portions
Dinner tonight is bolognaise (with 'hidden' carrot, mushroom and spinach) with courgette spaghetti - probably 1 veg portion in the bolognaise plus the courgettes. Usually have a glass of fruit juice with dinner
Total: 5 veg:3 fruit Doesn't look to bad, it'll be interesting whether I maintain that kind of ratio all week though.0 -
Banana as a morning snack, and for dinner we had mexican wraps with courgette, onion, sweetcorn, peppers and sweet potato wedges.Debt Free Stage 1 - Completed 27/08/2020

Just when I thought I was getting the hang of it.... 0:1 today
I had a peach and banana before lunchtime, because I knew I was going to be drinking. After that, half a bottle of wine and some chips.
And just now a croissant.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Finished off with sweetcorn (7) and a massive stirfry (carrot, red/orange/yellow pepper, leek, runner beans, carrot, courgette, spinach) (10) which I used to hide some chicken in (I'm not good at protein).
I feel SO much better on the days that I eat lots of veg - I have more energy and feel less bloated. So I really need to keep this up.0 -
Lunch today: leftover chicken w/satay sauce, carrots and broccoli.
Dinner: Ginger rice stuffed mushrooms with stir fried veg - peppers, spring onions, carrot, mangetouts; I'm going to call 2 portions for the stirfry.
Totals today: 5:0I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.
