Ouch to the knee
well done on the weight loss - may I suggest taking a long walk each day to get your steps up as much as possible - it will help shift the pounds without you feeling you can have a treat for going to the gym! Or do some weight training
DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Weight loss has stalled again, at 12.2.Turns out I did not get signed off by building control for the loft room, despite the builder telling me he had sent all the photos to the relevant person - all permitted development, so not major, but Building Control Man is now coming on Monday, and anything outstanding/problematic can be sorted out. The builder is ghosting me. I got suspicious and contacted the BC company. So that will be sorted out next week. One thing off the list.I am now in a position to be able to spend £17k on the bathroom. This is a ridiculous sum of money I have saved. I think I have builder-o-phobia. I know I have builder-o-phobia.I have managed to hit my savings goal of £100k with no mortgage this week.But.....My kitchen is a disaster, and the bathrooms are pure 1980s. This has to stop. I deserve something nice.I am going to look for more work hours. It might make me feel better about spending money.I am going to book some builders in to come round and quote next week.My house needs to be finished.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The people who I bought this house from didn't get the extension signed off until I'd made an offer... about 3 years after it was built (well, I know roughly when it was started, I have no clue when it was finished, as they seemed to view any questions as an attempt to catch them out).2

Building regs chap came, looked, knows all the people involved, and is on the case for me.He is not the original building regulation chap, that one left with a lot of work not completed or updated. Fingers crossed. Hopefully everything is in a shambles in the office and it will work in my favour.Whilst being brave I booked a bathroom planner for today. Knowledge is power.Payday came - I earned nothing last month - PB fairy gifted me £225 this morning(3 wins £100/£100/£25) - thank-you -Housekeeping came in, DH wants to up his payment, I won't say no. Regular savers filled, bills paid, money shuntedI am working 5.5 days this month so should clear about £1k with expenses - will push for us all getting paid this month. We should not be inconvenienced because the company is busy.Weight loss news! I am in the 11's (only just though!) In two weeks my girth has dropped 2 inches of my ribs, 5 inches off my waist and oddly +1 inch on my hips. I suppose gravity has caused a landslip where my 5 inches of fat is not holding up the skin anymore , Avalanche!! (( Sorry))But it does mean that I can start to bring more exercise into my regime, as I find trying to run at 13 stone is horrible on my knees (and b00bs), and trying to run at 12 stone also leaves me feeling like I have been steamrollered (again b00bs and sports bra torture devices)So out came all the lycra and chest strapping this morning, and I can see what fits and does not. Will soon be doing laps of the park... watch this space.Motivation is still high, so I am harnessing it. Not going to beat myself up if I fall off the wagon soon- i.e - when I am away for work - but I have been doing this for 10 weeks now and I am over 10kg down or 23lbs or 1.5 stone, whichever scale you use. When I am in the right headspace I can do this really easily, but when I am not in the right headspace it is a total anxiety-driven, slow, drawn-out, miserable, nightmare slog of a thing to be doing. Weight loss really does start above the eyebrows in my case.

Totally agree I believe that there is a little switch in your head and if it's not switched on you really don't stand a chance x4

Oh heck, I need to go underwear shopping, I am slipping alarmingly, better go tomorrow before I unintentionally embarrass myself. Small wins! Not such a win ... I got sworn at today - sometimes we have to say no, or limit quite how many of the same item people are taking. Then you get a mouthful of abuse. Makes me wonder why I flippin' bother sometimes. All adds to the motivation to get a job with more hours and actual pay.The bathroom planner chap was totally useless. I told him what I wanted, he ooooh'ed about the size of the space, and then he went away and drew an absolute pile of nonsense. There is no reason to move the toilet away from the wall where the soil stack is, and stick it on the other side of the house, and there was definitely no reason to put an extractor fan into the party wall with the neighbouring house - I think they might object! and they tried to sneak a £799 mirror and a £1200 designer radiator in there too. Well, just NO!! Who asked you anyway?Oh well, if they pay so little attention at the planning stage, I don't want them for the ordering stage, or the nailing tiles to the walls stage, or the attention to detail when putting in piping. Twits. One sale lost. All in all a disappointing day, but did get a message to sign a form online to say the building work had finished on the dormer loft room. So did that. So something productive might come from today after all.One calendar week until schools close for summer.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

My underwear has been going the other way and rudely shrinking on me! 😉😂😂
I’m not impressed (and a little worried 😢) by the rudeness that came your way. I hope there was no aggression in it?That bathroom planner sounds like an optimistic idiot! 😂😂 The best designers we’ve come across for kitchens and bathrooms are those in independent builders merchants. Might be worth a look?

I have been properly busy reading this last week, 3 books released back to the charity shop, one about magic and swords, one Richard 0sman romp, and one poisons and potions. Also found the last series of Sh3tland I had missed, and then binged Department Q - very very sweary, darkly funny, and very very Scottish. In other foreign fun, I'm nearly on the last series of Babylon Berlin (subtitles).I need a colourful plant for the spot near the patio doors, everything else is quite light or green, I need a vibrant colour. I dislike colourful colours, so I am finding it hard to find the right plant. Might just go bushy sunflower, the bees will love it. Or echinacea - in oranges and browns. Anyway, it will be on the yellow/orange/brown spectrum because everything else is on the paler side except one fuchsia. The passiflora has bloomed well, but it has bloomed totally white again???? The label shows a lovely blue flower. Mine are bleached again!! Guess it was not a fluke last year. I have albino passionflowers.I got signed off by building control! Well, the dormer loft room did, not me per se, but me by proxy. So have that saved, and printed a copy out as well just in case to go in the file.Got idiot Peacock Bathrooms man to redo the plans for the bathroom, and surprisingly, he came in at £14.5k, and that is without having to move soil stacks or put extractor fans into next door's rooms. Hopeless!! Even more expensive designer radiator this time, and a wifi enabled illuminated mirror above the sink that you could see from SPACE!! Muppet.I see people like this, employed, and I honestly wonder why my kids have not got a job. They could easily do something this badly on a regular basis. One and a half school days left. Why they have to go in until 12.00 on the last day I simply do not understand. I know they do the prizes assembly, but unless you are getting a prize, it is just torture for everyone else.11.12 - that is 24lbs down now. Not going to be able to keep it up while working next week, but will get back to it when I am back in a kitchen.

WiFi enabled mirror??? 😂😂😂😂
Well done on the building control sign off, that must be a relief 😊
For by the patio, maybe a rudbeckia? (It sounds like a sunny spot?)
