    well done on the weight loss - may I suggest taking a long walk each day to get your steps up as much as possible - it will help shift the pounds without you feeling you can have a treat for going to the gym! Or do some weight training

    No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

    The people who I bought this house from didn't get the extension signed off until I'd made an offer... about 3 years after it was built (well, I know roughly when it was started, I have no clue when it was finished, as they seemed to view any questions as an attempt to catch them out).

    - When bought house £315,995 mortgage debt and end date at start = October 2039 - now £233,521
    - OPs to mortgage = £11,338 Interest saved £5225 to date
    Fixed rate 3.85% ends January 2030
