I gave up Piers Morgan as my positive New Year Resolution, but sadly he has invaded my house three times so far this year. I was feeling a failure on Monday, but nice man at volunteering said Lent was a good opportunity to give him up again. It is nice to have a support network when giving up something so bad for people.

I had a policeman in the house last night, knocked on the door after 8pm came in, said 'I expect you know what this is about?' so we said yes we did, he then told DS4 he had done nothing wrong, but it was serious situation, and he should delete anything on his phone if he had anything, asap, but that it carried up to a 10 year prison sentence...

At this point I stopped him, and informed him that DS4 was not friends with these kids, and that he was the reason they knew anything about it. He was not the perpetrator, he was the informer, and being targeted by these kids, and by the way,  the threatening phone calls from them should stop.

Suddenly he could not wait to get out of the house.  Stupid fool was just given a list of kids names, and  assumed they were all the kids involved and who needed a scare in front of their parents.

Totally s0dded up my evening, but I have realised I do not have a problem with 'authority' per se, I have a problem with incompetence, which sadly I find hard to let go when it is delivered by 'people in  authority' who should know better.

Took DH out to the park this morning (not on a lead) and we took peanuts and tried to catch a squirrel. No joy, highly suspicious squirrels round here.  DH saw a nuthatch and a wren and went all 'Bill 0ddie' on me, so I downloaded the free Merlin app and we identified birdsong with it, and he had a lovely time. He has it on his phone now.  Happy chap. He is feeling low.  We both need to lose weight, so we went off on our little 5k toddle and came back through the trendy hipster bit of the area, visiting charity bookshops and watching people who pay other people to make them a sandwich as a 'weekend treat'.  We came home past them all, and opened a tin of soup (it was a freebie) and had a toasted cheese sandwich.

How 2 people managed to destroy 3/4 of a loaf of bread and 4 bagels in less than 2 hours is beyond me.  They hurt my brain. The other 2 have not yet had breakfast.

DH is making a chilli tonight - cooking makes him slightly happier, we shall call it cooking therapy.

I have put a load of chickpeas on to soak so he can make falafel tomorrow, hummus as well.  

I moved the massive jars of red lentils, and chickpeas into the main section of the pantry this morning.  The stores are finally going down...until I find another bargain and mess it all up again.

I feel the urge to confess to being one of those people who pay good money at the weekend to have someone make them a sandwich - LOL.  And the more hipster a coffee shop the better.  Maybe that's why I still have a massive mortgage.  It's just after a week of running around like a blue arsed fly I enjoy someone making me a coffee and a toastie and zero chance of that happening in my house.

I get the idea of it, but the fantasy nearly always is better than the reality, in my experience.
Today's glamorous decadence includes laundering my bedding and hoovering the house. Yep, cleaning day! Oh the joys! 
Summer frocks are coming out! Bought a 3 pack of tights yesterday at the supermarket in readiness for having legs 🦵 🦵 again.  Will no doubt stick a thumb through them all whilst trying to pull them up.  Bought a couple of little shrugs to cover arms until it gets warmer to go over them ( charity shop finds, nothing more than £1).
I have stuck my head into all 4 boys' rooms this morning and they are all absolutely boggin'.  I am NOT cleaning those. They were spotless last Tuesday.  I am not impressed.  Riot Act will be read later.
DHs car is in for service and MOT, I am still on driving duty for DS4. 
Saved myself £50 yesterday as the take up for The Towers of Alton school trip was so low it has been cancelled.  £55 was a massive amount considering you can get 2-4-1 with a pack of chocolate or cereal, so I will get my £5 deposit refunded, I will also get my free £50 of the WideNation building society, and look forward to the loyalty bonus after Easter. 
⛴️  booked for Easter hols. DH is already trying to get out of it. They are his parents!! Groundhog Day.
Right, second coffee consumed, book finished, time to get to 'work'.  See ya!

Sounds like you need to try out the freezing tip with the tights, never done it myself but have seen it mentioned a few times. You wet them, squeeze out the excess and then bung in the freezer in a bag overnight to strengthen the fibres, defrost and allow to air dry before wearing.

That sounds mental! Probably works though..... will try after I put a thumb through one ... it is a new to me brand, they might be okay?
