He wants a bank holiday when he goes, like Liz 👑 had.  He outlasted Palmerston ( the chief Mouser to the Foreign Office ).
We live in a very strange country 😂

I think Larry had (as in, ‘during his time in office’) real gravitas. Always came across as long suffering, patient, slightly cynical, Bruiser …. ❤️

Huge back to school anxiety has started in our house. Perversely it is all mine, not theirs.  Only 2 more years of being tied to school terms. It will have been 20 years that they have ruled my schedule.  I cannot wait to feel that freedom. 
Today I am feeling confined and restricted. 
I know I am being manoeuvred towards a full time paid job at the volunteering role. Luckily I am working away for most of September so won't be volunteering. Not sure I could bite my tongue enough, working with them full time. 
DH has started applying for jobs in the US. Just for fun really, but it might give DS1&2 the kick up the bum needed to make them take their job searches more seriously.
I will know more by the end of this week, I keep telling myself.

So do you plan to sell if moving to US?

He won't get the job in US, but it makes him feel better to know there is an escape plan, plus it keeps his hand in at interviews and keeps his CV up to date.  He just wants to see how desirable he is internationally, and is very worried about the sector over here short term.

DS3 has been told he cant do his A levels because his grades are not high enough (they want 5 x 5s), but he can't retake, as he has passed them (4s)!!  

So he is expected to go and either do an apprenticeship in something manual - because he does not have the 5's necessary to do the higher level, but he also might not get in to the lower level,  because he has passed his english and maths (?????) and that is who that level is for . 

So it seems we are looking at Btecs, or T Levels.  DH is going to  go to the Super-Saturday event at the college DS3 did not want to go to, with him.  He is obviously upset, but it is coming over as supreme arrogance, and it is making me want to put him in a sack and hit him with a baguette until he comes to his senses - DS3 not DH, DH is lovely and already just wants to cry.

DS3 would honestly have been better off if he had failed the lot and could retake the year.  Aarrrgh!!  Oh well! Onwards!

In other news, I found a course for DS1 which he sounded quite excited about.  He could just be lying to me though. It would be free, and might lead to something.  Plus he would be in town and could buy himself lunch every day.  Bonus! (for him).   

I also sent him a job advert for the Big Boss Man, after the Elf job not going down well... waiting for a reaction to that one.   DS2 may or may not have been sanctioned again, after they moved one of his telephone appointments forward 10 days, and unsurprisingly he missed their call.
