It is a small local company, I have had 3 fitters from them, one seriously gave me the creeps, the ferrety one (I check where I left my bag), and the clean looking one - who is a white supremacist, the poor insecure bunny. 3 of 3 I would not leave unsupervised. Oh well, it is only my bedroom and DS2s bedroom that still need doing. Maybe I should give it a try myself?
Plenty of other companies around, and 75% of the house has been done already. Visible progress.
I have a week of work coming up and it will easily pay for those rooms to be done.I have shunted another £1,000 to the bathroom fund. I just need to be brave and book in for a planning session to see if my ideas will work. Currently at £7k loose cash ready to go.Found another flippin critter, today was in the diary as whole house 'deep clean and spray - day', it has been 7 days since the last spray. I will just keep on hoovering and keep on spraying until I succeed. Whackamoley.Somehow I have not put on any weight this week - still 3lbs to go to drop down a bracket. Will aim to be in the 11's before I go off to work.DH is doing entry-level carrot-experimentation (liquid smoke) today.I need to buy my train tickets next week, I will go to the station because I resent paying £2.99 to have an e-ticket sent to my phone. All bills go out tomorrow and there will still be money left in the kitty - I have paid into savings already, and repaid robbed borrowed money from savings, my earnings this month will be less than my credit card bill. My expenses will be a magical beautiful work of fiction within permitted boundaries as set out in the employee guide. Complete with receipts. It is the last full week of school for DS4 - 8.5 school days left to go. The end is in sight.Popcorn and Tortilla chips are bought for Election Night. I applied for Election Day Job, DS1 applied for Election Day Job. Will apply for County as well,as I have just realised I only applied to City council....And each and every PB holder reading this is going to win something in the draw* woo - hoo !*not legally binding4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I have not won big on the PB draw. It must be marvellous to get that notification, I am delighted for whoever does, I hope they are nice people. Just imagine it. .... I will find out at midnight if I have won small instead. I won't sleep otherwise....Busy day today with volunteering, hoovering, and taking the smaller carpet offcuts to the tip. Made another mung dahl yesterday while the potatoes were baking and the washing up needed vanquishing, so dinner tonight is prepped and in the fridge, and I just have to do rice and poppadoms. First effort carrot lox was better than expected, but not yet 100%, it was .. maybe .... an 80/85 on the smoked salmon scale.DH is working from home, in his new study.... sadly he has made no effort whatsoever to move all his tat out of the back room, just bought a new printer and sodded off upstairs
Oh well, something else for me to be doing, I wouldn' t want to get bored eh?
Anyway, I have two Octogenarians stood on a street corner waiting for me to give them a lift. Must be off!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I haven't won big this month either. Pity I could have done with it as I spent over £11k on Thursday. To top it all last January I had a moment of panic & instead of putting some fixed term that expired into easy access I only went & fixed it again. I'm trying to work up the mental energy to see how much it will cost me to close a 5 year fix that is 4 yrs in. Mind you at that rate of interest I'm not sure I care, although it was good at the time.

Oooh, was it nice? The whatever it was you spent £11k on? Please don't say it was on socks, or a tax bill. Mind you, some people spend that on a holiday every year don't they?I won £125 this month, so it is all adding up nicely, and that combined with wages at the end of the month will be very welcome. I could really do with a week or two of work each month, that would pretty much sort me and the house out. Well, I mean a week or two of 12/14 hour shifts a day. Nothing excessive.... I really would not want 10 shifts of 6 hours, I would much rather do 5 shifts of 12 hour days.... or win big next monthI just got an email off Z00pla telling me my house is conservatively estimated at £289k. I think I just found the momentum to get this house sorted. The high price would be £320k. I have lived in Le'Shire for 8 years and I don't really ever want to live anywhere for more than 10 years until it is the forever home near the sea. I might be getting itchy feet. I need to get a move on. Imagine walking away with over £300k mortgage free.Found another small critter this afternoon after the whole house was hoovered. Oh well, it is one that won't be bothering us again. Each one found is another one dead. Will just keep on keeping on. I will get there.Moved all the bits of DIY nonsense down from the places it had been dropped, all brought down to the kitchen area. House looking much neater and tidier with the new carpet down and all the corners and flat surfaces cleared of tat.Mountains of laundry washed, dried, and folded 4 x 10kg loads for the last 3 days in a row - all at 60 degrees and all dried in the dryer. Mattress protectors, 5x sheets and 5 x duvet covers, and the towels, and clothes. I am sneakily removing any clothes I deem too faded and awful looking, or that have holes in, or are too small. Things can't keep coming in to the house without other things leaving. I am going to be militant.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Spent on solar panels & batteries etc. Installation due a fortnight today & tomorrow. Obviously I am now wondering if I have done the right thing but pretty sure I have.

Absolutely 100% you have done the right thing. Oh what a beautiful sexy thing to spend on in Summer 😍😍 🌞🌞🌞🌞 . It will pay for itself, then it will be free, or even making you money. I decided to focus on the renovations before the solar panels. I did think about it when the loft conversion was being done, but then I thought I should probably make sure the new roof didn't leak, and it gets passed by building regs, before I stick £10k of panels on it. Belt and braces!
DH has just asked for a lift to the station at 6.20 on Thursday morning (blue haired screamer). He will be back just after 8pm, so plenty of time to vote...🤔 before pulling an all nighter on Election Watch.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

It is a man thing. A few weeks ago I left a piece of paper on the floor near the bottom of the stairs as if it had just wafted there. Almost 3 weeks later I picked it up & put it in the recycling. DS had not so much as mentioned it. I don't think they ever get past teenagers, he is in his 40s

Nope! I'm easy.
I am also confused. I have literally eaten my own bodyweight in nuts, garlic bread, pasta and cheese, poppadoms, mango chutney and pain puri, over the last 72 hours and put on 0lbs.
So I will get back on track now and lose these next 3lbs while the motivation is back.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
