Glad that DH is enjoying the work even if he is missing you and the noise of home. Am I right in thinking that DH's sister lives in Switzerland or am I thinking of someone else? If yes, is he going to catch up with her or avoid her?2

Battle of the Bugs continues. So far contained to one floor .... more spray will be bought as DS2 is very stressy with it. Surgical spirit will be deployed in other areas.Eurovision, hmm, Surprised we got as many points as we did from the judges - and why anyone was going on about the staging - it looked like a dirty men's changing room, the only thing missing was a urinal - maybe I just didn't get it? I must have missed something. Oh well, that's over for another year. Jaja Ding Dong!Today will be ironing and scrubbing. Probably accompanied by a body-overconfident chap in a white shirt, unbuttoned to his belly button, and a cowboy hat.But first... coffee, and a plan to drop 2lb this week after stalling at 12.5. Slow and steady, and stay away from cake!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I found the British entry absolutely cringe making! The staging and choreography was seedy and his singing was dire … We had paused it whilst I had a shower, so I literally fat forwarded through that part!Sorry to hear that the bed bugs battle is ongoing. That must be pretty stressful. Sending Paddington Hard Stares their way …. and a solidarity hug to DS2.

I haven't watched it for years because of the shear toe curlingness of it. I always hope we win naturally but not enough to actually watch it.

Banging and drilling and sawing continues on both sides, lucky me to still be getting it in stereo! Oh the joy!Went to the dentist early this morning, got asked if I would mind having 9 monthly or annual check ups rather than 6 monthly ones - so that will save me £27 a year, and hopefully will mean someone else gets to join the NHS practice.Came home and sorted out all my D0w Egburts / gherkin jars I have been finding and saving, and have decanted 95% of the herbs and spices (how many open multiples, Dr FH???) into bigger jars and labelled them, and now I have my own army, lined up, ready to spring into action when needed.Nicked some Blessed seed and planted it out, and while I was there, some fennel seed, and on the off chance, some star anise seeds. I had an empty but prepared planter lined up for something, but I had planted everything I had, and now I have the courgette planter empty too (blasted slugs!), and nigella/blessed seed is simply beautiful (love in a mist for those who do not know). Food seed is a damn sight cheaper than buying a packet of seed and it has worked well for me for a couple of years now.It chucked it down earlier, and it has become apparent one of the lower gutters is full of carp from the builders, and it is overflowing and flooding the yard... So I need to get up there and clean it out. Not a big job, but an important one. I put a bucket under it, we only have hard showers forecast. Much nicer to do it when it is not raining. Luckily it is the only part that is single storey.Anti-bug spray arrived yesterday so gave DS2 a can and he has done the bit of the room he is convinced the 2 tiny beasts came from. All his floordrobe has been re-laundered and he has promised to use his chest of drawers from now on. Talk, however is cheap.DS3 had 2x French exams yesterday. Much laughter from his brothers at him totally misunderstanding .. well, French, really. Luckily it was only one question he muffed up (he hopes) and it was only 1 point he dropped...He reckons. It will give the marker a laugh anyway. His excuse was that he thought 'The French' were not as politically correct as 'The English'. Anyway, he now knows the problem was that ' the bus was late' and not that 'the bus driver had a low IQ' ... Today is History. God knows he is probably the only kid who could get Florence Nightingale and Florence and the Machine mixed up.DH comes home in one calendar month, so he is over 1/3 of the way through. He is missing us desperately. I have hardly noticed he is gone, to be honest. Between working, cleaning, bug management, cleaning again, feeding people, cleaning, shopping, laundry, cleaning, and hassling DS1 and DS2 about finding employment, I have not exactly had time. I shan't tell him that though.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
