Well they finished the battening and I realised at 2.30 they had scarpered. I know they probably started at 7.30 picking up the bits needed, drove here for 8, worked through, but they have not been able to work for the last few days due to bad weather......  so surely the pub could wait?.  So I have no tiles on the back of the house.  But I am not really surprised..

2.30 does seem early... is the house watertight? Really hope so x

DS3 just announced that I am never going to be reincarnated as a zebra.   I am honestly not sure what he was talking about, but it is early.....

Oh, and no roofers.  What a surprise.  Maybe on Monday?

Have been quite industrious today, decided to use up what we have in the house, rather than go shopping again.  We only have 2 onions left (we can go through 6 a day) so I decided the sad veg in the bottom of the fridge were destined to be soup - celery, carrots, leeks, leftover gravy,  half a bowl of peas, spring onions  + a handful of soup mix from the pantry  and supper tonight is sorted, as are a couple of lunches next week.    Will also get rid of a loaf of bread with it. 
Then roasted  4 small potatoes cut into chunks, 8 sad carrots and 4 parsnips, so that is a quick lunch with a couple of lowcal sausages for me and DH next week. 
Made a big bowl of salad with the sad cuke, wrinkling cherry tomatoes, ends of lettuce, and spring onions, made a dressing with the juice from the  pot  of olives. Made up a bowl of naked coleslaw as well, so more carrots gone.  Now I only have the one bag of carrots left.  How did I end up with 4 bags of carrots in a week? No idea, I blame pixies. 
The Shopping list currently reads - potatoes and onions - so I am not going shopping, not for that!  I can still make a pizza meal and a spaghetti meal and a chilli, and that should take me to Tuesday when I am working away anyway.  So if I pick up a bag of onions and spuds and sausage rolls (kids lunchboxes)  on Monday morning with my £6 clobcard reward vouchers on the way to the f00dbank, then that should do me most of next week on zero pounds spent.  Well, that's the plan anyway.

Plan went out the window.  Ended up spending £3 in Leedl, £3 in Tessico, and £3 in Herr Ron.  However that is IT for the week.  Now I have 4 aubergine, 12 very large peppers, some kind of weird green alien squash, 12 mutantly huge bananas, 8 tomatoes and 4 bags of mint.... and everything I need for  kids lunch boxes for the week plus a YS bread mountain etc,

Roofers appeared at 8am, they took all the slates off the front of the house, and have covered and battened it.  So I will be completely tileless for the night.   Maybe by the time I return  (on Wednesday night ) from working away I will have a roof? Ta Dah!!!! ...... Whoosh, and the tiles are on! 

It is going to be a big relief to know that it can snow as much as it flippin' well likes and I will not have to fret the roof is going to come off - expect a large snowfall this year chaps!
