My electrician has gone AWOL, the heating engineer won't come until the electrician has been, I can't find someone to fix the leaking soil pipe, and the sofa delivered today is damaged. So you're not the only one suffering. I hope the roof stays on until after the weather has passed through...

I have three roofers on the roof, they have already tried to take the slates off the bit of roof they were not supposed to do anything to, but I heard them talking and went out and said again that they were not touching that bit of roof. They had no idea what the heck they were supposed to be doing, are very confused people, but they are here. Half the back of the roof is off already, because the scaffold at the front of the house is in the wrong pattern for what they are supposed to be doing (?) and it needs fixing.  But there are here!
On the plus side, if they are doing the back of the house first, then Mr Builder can crack on and use their scaffold while they f-anny about at the front.
So I have sent him a message to let him know and he can decide what he wants to do and when.
Posted my sack for Kwasi's postal survey 500/2500 already and I have just agreed to do another correct delivery one (extra 300 by Xmas).  Last 2500 points took sub 6 weeks to earn and I spent it in Mr T's yesterday on 24 litres of soymilk and a lot of pasta, with a couple of fripperies thrown in. Hopefully another £25 will appear  mid December.
Did the meter readings and submitted them - was £700+ in credit so I can have the heating on, but not happy DH has it on constantly.  He is cold, not the room - and so it starts again...
Luckily he is at work today teaching, so if they get the back stripped, the battens replaced, and the membrane laid, they might even get on with retiling by this afternoon.

My roof is naked. Slateless. They are replacing the flashings around the velux already.

New battens being hammered and screwed on to the building, remembered to contact home insurance company and let them know that building works are going on until Xmas and that there will be an extra bedroom. So they are charging me £19.50.   Bargain! At least I will be covered.
Just being quiet and keeping out of the way. I am very excited about it though.
