Nothing wrong with a little extra pressure - I have already suggested they should go and help them with their garden if they are not employed - after all, the internet is everywhere and they could still apply for jobs.... (like they are applying for jobs!)

i'm pretty sure there were people I knew of who were told to be gainfully employed or on a useful educational course, or otherwise they would find themselves being signed up for which ever armed forces their parent landed on.

maybe you can start removing an item a week (or day) from their room until they have nothing but 4 walls a ceiling & a floor or have gone and done something with themselves

Few small bits done over the last couple of days.  Had opened an ISA on April 6th at 4.25% but not paid into it yet, because I thought the rates would rise,   so had a look this morning and my bank is now offering 4.85% so opened that and shunted the holiday fund in there. Going to TT the accounts and round down to the closest £5 every week, and all p/a payouts will go in there.  Last year's ISA will pay out in March, just before Easter hols,  and this year's in July, just before Summer hols.

Tomorrow is the PB draw, so that will be a bit of fun. All bills will go out tomorrow (boo!) and then I can set my budgets.  DS3 keeps asking where I am going to take him this summer.  I do not know!  A last minute late booking holiday. 

Today I am going to do the silly little bits that have stubbornly hung on to my to-do-list, and just finish off the jobs, and I am going to cut our ugly privet hedge in the front yard.  It has thickened out considerably since I cut 1/3rd of the old dead branches out of the middle of it last autumn. Will do another 1/3rd today.  No doubt it will cause a mass exodus by the neighbours over the next week - one starts, then they all follow! We don't have grass, so can't play lawnmower chicken - who will blink first??    Will lob a seaweed feed at it as well - I only ever remember to do it once a year!

Lunch will be pizza, so I will shove a dough on after LauraK's politics show, and then go and hack things to gobbits.

Also spent the rest of my S&M vouchers on sausages - rock n roll!   Food shop done yesterday and got 9p Alpr0 milk - bb 1st July, so lots of white sauces, custards, cakes, and batters - as well as breakfast cereal - this week.  Did the big flour shop as well so everything is back on the menu!  Will bake for the freezer as well, because after this week, I will spend one night in my own bed until 22nd July.

The charger for the trimmer battery has disappeared. Grrrr!

Got Mirena on Wednesday and keep getting intense short lived headaches so flat on the sofa until the tablets start working. Grrr

DH took over pizza building - I had made the dough and the sauce, so he just had to shape, load, and bake.

Well,  the Shanghai Bank turned me down! How very rude, mind you, they never believed I was who I said I was when I had an account with them a million years ago, or a credit card, or when we had a mortgage with them, they are so  shoddy when it comes my identity. 

So went with good old Flloyds, who happily agreed to bung me £150 and give me free Diznee Plus for a year, or 6 free cinema tickets - all  by the end of the month - £550 in bank switch bonuses so far this year.  Those Shanghai Pirates are the only bank to EVER turn me down.  Nobody left to switch to now, until NationalWide decide they want to pay a switch, so I will sit with Flloyds for a while.

The shanghai bank ... shanghai anyone.  they really only even part way like you if you are going overdrawn.  It seems even they may not take on Farage.  Oh that may make them a bit more sensible than I thought.

Grrr! First builder just left - he was to quote for the job, he left with a set of the plans, as he was back on the doorstep, he 'mentioned' he was about to go on holiday and would get us a quote in a couple of weeks -  he really annoyed me. Spoke mostly to DH - who told me after he had left  that he had already told the man that I was in charge not him, I knew what I wanted, and he should ask me.  He still asked all questions to DH.   Really??

It felt  just like  when I was  trying to get double glazing when we lived in Manchester, and every company refused to come and quote unless DH was physically  there.   In case he did not like what I had chosen.  I told them it was not his money, but they still insisted he was there.  Same scenario in this house.
