I think I am going to train it up and down to the Greater Manchester job - the hotel is 10 minutes max walk from the uni, and there is a C0sta and a Mr M's Food store on the way - breakfast sorted! Quick launder of clothes and repack bag, then I will have to drive up to Yorkshire as there is now a train strike on the day I need to come back.  Will have a look around at hotels and see if DH wants to bring the 2 smallest up for a weekend at the seaside afterwards

I am so worried DS2 is going to be like DS1 and just lie in his bed forevermore,  I am being studiously ignored.

In-laws are coming over  in August, so this morning I have bought two sofabeds from FairWay in their sale. £359 each.  They are called B0sc0 and are being delivered tomorrow.  The living room can be used as their hotel room. At least I will know where they are, and I will not have to listen to them whining about the cost of a hotel.

The sofa beds have arrived in bits for me to assemble. All delivered by 8.10, and the idiot builders next door already seem to be  digging in channels for electricity cables.  Which is a particularly annoying bang bang bang (rubble falling) scrape, scrape, sawing floorboard and skirting board, scraping pull noise, bang bang bang bang  of metal shielding, bang bang bang(rubble falling) repeat til fade.  Then in the afternoon, the sound of plastering. Bouff! Bouff!! skreeetch, skreeetch.   Argh!!  Oh well, it can't last forever can it? On the plus side, if it rains, there are so many holes in their roof, they scarper pretty damn quickly! - not that I am asking for rain. I am absolutely NOT asking for rain!

Pasta sauce made and ready in the fridge for their supper tonight. 

Today is going to be about getting as much done as I can to clear the decks of paperwork, write cheques for school trips in September (next term!!), and move furniture about the place - I need end tables for my sofas, sadly I cannot find anything in the charity shops which matches, of if it does, it is butt ugly.  Oh, and I need to plant out my two yellow rose bushes I bought from Aldee - sub £5 for the two.

I harvested mint and parsley for my tomato salad yesterday! I have never managed to grow parsley from seed before. I have tried.  This year it went crazy,  I have enough for a field! I am loving it. The supermarket rescue plant was spilt into 4 and is thriving as well. 

I am back on the shakes - found a place called M0tat0s that does cut price food stuffs online - short dates. Bought Fast slim Vitality powder bags (8 shakes but easily does 10 - 4 scoops is too much, 3 is fine) for £6.50, bought £40 to get free shipping, one item not in stock so £32.50  but still free shipping, got a £5 off new customer voucher (£27.50), signed up to paypal credit, and got £20 off my first use, so £7.50 which I paid for with my p/a payment.  So 5 bags of slim powder  (50 shakes) for £0 actual cash leaving my bank account.  Now I just have to stick to the plan! Feeling pretty motivated and in control anyway, which is always a bonus.  The freezer is full of burgers and sausages and stuff to have with salads - and frozen berries and bananas fear not, the kids will not starve.

One sofa assembled, it is enormous and looks fab, is quite comfy too - much more comfy than expected, blue velvet and very strokeable. So having a cup of tea before embarking on sofa #2.  Will be fun to see how long it takes the kids to notice.... .

Two sofas up, both celebrated with a cup of tea. Architect dropped plans round (finally!), straight through the letter box and scarpered.  Not a word to us.  Self-employed for a reason.

Do the end tables need to match? I don’t think a single scrap of furniture or decor in my lounge matches (never something I have considered, as I have grown up with eclectic furniture) apart from some cushions and the curtains, which in itself is unusual for us.

It would be nice to have two things in the house that match - my bedsides do, but only because I stripped and painted them from their orange pine-ness to matt black. 

Sadly DS2 has not risen from his bed  and does not show any sign of wanting to be an adult.   I am so baffled by them.  DS1 is doing some bulls**t Job Centre training course - it is a one hour zoom meeting a day. In 4-6 weeks it guarantees an interview with H0mebase.  Why will they just not go to a temp agency to get experience, and find out what they do NOT want to do??

Mirena fitted this morning.  12-16 week waiting time my foot!

Somehow have an £80 surplus on this week's budget with 30 hours left to go, and another  £7 pending on p/a. Then DS3 came home with £58 of school trip extortion letters to be paid for before 7th July for trips in .......  September next term.

Off to a hotel tomorrow for a job on Friday. Paid work.  Hooray!  Friday is payday as well, hooray! 

Going to be working with nice people, doing a nice happy job, and having a nice dinner out with them, all paid for by the company.

I’m sorry your sons are baffling. Would girlfriends help their motivation? 

FWIW, I think I was baffling to my parents at that age (and I seem still to be to my mother ….! 😂) 😉
