Thorpe Park was our yearly school trip.  Must admit the coach was my favourite bit. I,  Wussius.

Just checked the PBs and I have won  £75 this month (3 x£25)

Off to the Dr again this morning - yesterday's GP told me I did not need HRT as I did not have hot flushes. Instead I  got offered the mirena coil - which is all they have ever offered me for the last 25 years.  Apparently it cures everything.  It makes me wonder if they did a 'Del Boy' deal on them around the Millennium, and now have a big box of them out the back they are still trying to shift before they start to rust.

That is *such* a load of baloney!! I never had hot flushes but my GP checked my hormone levels and seeing that my oestrogen levels were low, declared me to be either in peri / menopause (hard to tell with me due to hysterectomy). The main reason she started prescribing HRT was my disturbed sleep and the effect it was having on every other aspect of my life. We discussed all the sleep hygiene factors and once she was convinced that I had tried all the obvious things and done the blood tests, job done.

I remember when it had the farm and the pirate ship (or was it a train) where you got 'The Black Spot' if it was your birthday for a free drink. When Loggers Leap was installed and could be seen across the entire park and was their biggest 'thrill' ride.

I used to work for Thorpe Park, did 2 summers in gift shops while I was at university. One of the few perks was that you got free entry, but after working 6 days on the trot the last thing I wanted to do on day 7 was go back, even for the rides!

I am booking in for the mirena.  If it does not work by Christmas it will come out.  They can't fit me in at the gp until end of JULY!! so I am trawling the other local clinics for an, ahem! , drop out !!!    They said ring back Monday and they might be able to do me at short notice. So that is what I will do.  I also managed to get gp to give me some patches to try.  It was like pulling teeth.

So by 9am I think I can call it vaguely successful.  Went to Herr L's, Mr T's and Herr Ron's  on the way home.

Did a rejig of architect's plans and sent them back to him. Honestly! what was the man even thinking??  I get that it would be the cheapest option, not to knock down any walls, but  we asked for the walls to come down!! It really did not tally with what we asked for when the other man was measuring up either.

 I wonder if they even speak to each other?  Having room for a 4 seat table in a house with 6 people just would not work! and there is no point in turning the back of the house into a long dark corridor. My plans look better and will work better, so he can draw those up.  Best to make alterations on paper rather than in bricks.  

DH was absolutely bl00dy unhelpful about the whole thing. Did not want to look at the plans, decided he needed to go to sleep, wanted to watch something on tv, had to answer some emails etc.etc. etc.   Finally pinned him down and asked his opinion on the original and my revised plans.  After all, the man will no doubt be vocal on what he does not like after it is built. 

Won £75 on the old PBs for June. 

There is a Riverside Festival on this weekend down the road from us, so might just take myself off and watch people messin' about in boats.

Urgh. I hope you get it sorted out. It’s a bit of a lottery with doctors and menopause. My sister’s doctors refuse to admit that she has symptoms because “she is too young” despite significant family history of having the menopause young. It’s so frustrating.

Had a long lie in, then fruit and coffee for breakfast, messed around in the back yard with my plants for  a bit, some herbs needed splitting and I swear they look bigger already after a sly seaweed feed. Double the plants now (honest!).  Hopefully they will all rise to the occasion, the flowering plants are all full of buds, so get on and bloom already!  It has been so cold here the last week, I can't really blame them for not coming out.

Stuck a load of laundry on the line, and folded and returned the 3 loads I have ignored for the last week - I was on half term!

DH made a lovely aubergine chinese dish for lunch, and I went off to the shops for all the stuff I forgot yesterday - baking marg, deodorant, pocket tissues (DH's bad habit),  2 more cereal bowls so I don't have to completely replace the whole set and everyone gets the same size meal.  3 pairs of lacy knickers as I needed more, all the little stuff that gets shunted from list to list and never seems to get done.

Came home and demolished nearly half a watermelon. 18 degrees and lots of solar radiation out there. Not sorry and it will not kill the diet.

Nobody has heard any Rat Related Activity since I murdered Emma.  So my fingers are crossed we just had the two (not so little) bugg3rs.  Might leave something out, and see if it gets nabbed. Then we will know for sure.

My sweetpeas have only just started flowering - usually mid May when they start. It’s just been so mis for so long!

DS3 and 4's rooms raided, mattress toppers and protectors stolen, washed, and currently on the line drying. 

Also school uniform they claimed was 'missing'  I found and is now in Mt Hotpoint in front of the machine.

They can make their own beds up when they get in from school with clean bedding.  All windows open, bins emptied, and thoroughly hoovered - I asked them to do it, they claimed they had. They lied!!

DS1 and 2 can do their own - they are adults. Their rooms smell though. I will resist as long as I can....

Bathrooms thoroughly cleaned and scrubbed and floors mopped. Bins disinfected.

Fridge and freezer inventory done - so this week without having to go shopping I can feed them....

Tofu and Veg Stirfry with Gyoza and Spring rolls and  miso soup 

3 Bean Chilli and rice

Toad in the hole, mashed potatoes, peas and corn and lashings of gravy

Cheese and onion pie

Some kind of  not-chicken and corn filo pastry pie concoction

Potato and pea curry with h/m mango chutney and flatbreads

Spag bol and garlic bread.

So I need something for lunches for DH and I to go with the salad I already have, and some broccoli to go with the not chicken pie.  Sub £10 spend.

Now for a sausage salad for lunch today, and on with cleaning the ground floor. 

All in all quite productive already
