Sending commiserations your way, those type of pets are so draining to deal with. DD is now 21 but I still have flashbacks to an infestation during mid primary school. I too have a lot of thick and fairly curly hair... it was a horrible time. I hope you move yours on quickly!

The attack was contained purely on DS4, who went to bed in a medicated shower cap after Eur0visi0n.Finland should have won!! Heard someone going up to bed later, humming 'cha-cha-cha' on the landing. Found Sweden utterly dull, even with the subtitles on! cha-cha-cha-cha!Laundry load 3 of the morning is on the line with load 2 and load 1. Found DS1s forgotten wet laundry in the dryer. He obv forgot to turn it on. Smells yuck, hence wash load 4 in the machine. We are supposed to get 20 degrees today and dry, so it should all get done - no sign of any school uniform yet though.Caved to child pressure last night and had a Eurovision-takeaway £52.50, of which £2.50 was mine. Oh well, it is not every day is it! So this morning I made a menu plan for the week (out of panic at £50 disappearing from the budget). I have just set a whole 500g bag of brown lentils soaking in the kitchen for a side dish, and a stew (with a pack of sausages which will be made into balls). dayFolded all the laundry done during the week and shoved into a basket, not going to go out today.Town yesterday was full of chuggers. Honestly you could not move for preachers, charity workers, direct sellers and beggars. Hooray for wearing headphones!I did manage to go into the building society that I did not know I had a savings account with (was linked to a mortgage held nearly 20 years ago) and get my address changed with them. That was one the mail redirection did not pick up. There is less than £2 in it, because unlimited mortgage overpayments were allowed through an account held with the same building society, but not otherwise, so I had to open one just for that. I Tilly-Tidied my bank account every week into that account. It was my first ever mortgage overpayment account. So I feel warmly toward it, even though we were on a 5 year fix at 4.7% when those 5 years were up, the base rate was 0.5%, the monthly payment went down, and I started overpaying like mad - relatively speaking - I don't think I ever managed more than £100 a month back then, but it was all I had. It made a difference though. In my mega shopping trip to town, I failed to spend my £25 S&M voucher, and failed to spend my £10 MaxxTK voucher. Nothing I wanted, nothing I needed, so I left.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Can't beat a song about drinking Pina coladas and suddenly thinking you can dance like strictly 😁. Loved it.
Blimey Sonia must have lived! DH would not believe she was our age, so googled it and she is 3 years older than him. He is now proper chuffed. Bad man.

I thought Graham was remarkably sober and sedate last night. D’you think that’s because he was working in Blighty rather than another host nation?

I was supporting Finland as the guy is a Rammstein fan
I was surprised to see him come second, it's a shame the jury vote was what carried a rather bland number through in the end.

Flippin' eck why am I so ridiculous? I am wearing 'lucky earrings' to go for this hospital appointment! Of the three tests done at the dr's surgery last week, 2 were fine, one was unusable, so only had to have one repeated yesterday - Rock n' Roll!Off to the hospital this morning to find out what is going on (I will not find out what is going on today, I do not know why I am thinking I will, idiot!).Knowledge is power, and I can't help thinking about lovely lovely Purple Fairy (aka purps) who is no longer with us. Freaking out a bit, but have change for the parking machine, and luckily the hospital is less than 15 minutes away, and DH is out of the house at work today so I don't have to worry about him worrying about me worrying. He would only say something daft and annoy me.So, Public Service Announcement: If you have something that is just not right, go and get it checked out. The NHS is working, do not put it off.Nothing particularly moneysaving going on this week. The school finally banked the cheque yesterday - two weeks after the last date for final payment. Child benefit comes in on Monday, still waiting on £100 ground rent cheque, the credit card bill is sub £150, and there is still money in the budget this week - about £80, but I do need sausage rolls for lunchboxes for tomorrow and Fri, and a loaf of bread.Still focussing on the items in the pantry that have sat there for ages. Lasagne sheets and black turtle beans are on the hit list for removal this week - the sheets will go in a lasagne (duh!) because all the other pasta has disappeared, and the turtle beans in a chilli with ys mince and ys wraps in the freezer and some ys boshed tins of tomatoes. V. cheap and easy and I can cook once and eat twice from the tomato sauce base. This is all in a plan to reduce the amount of stuff in the pantry, to stop 'people' from eating it overnight and then it not being there when I go to use it.Last night I made flapjacks, so threw in pumpkin seeds, 5 hazelnuts (they evaporate), sunflower seeds, and nearly the last of the endless goji berries. They look really pretty, and it meant I did not have to buy any ingredients. I can make more tonight for the rest of the week's lunchboxes as I am nearly out of flour after making pastry for the cheese and onion pie last night (three whole slices of cheese!). Also have 1kg of gram flour (free from 0lio app) so will make veg pakora to get rid of that.Okay enough waffling, need to go to this appointment.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
