It feels bizarrely  calm. 

Cleaning the living room and hall today, have cleared and cleaned the front yard already.

Cleaned out the back of my car - my kids are animals - filled the windscreen washer tank with fluid - I had to turn the heater on last week to clear the windows one morning, made sure there are 2 blankets in the boot, recycled all the cardboard boxes that seem to breed in the boot.  Also need to do a welly cull now that DS4 is a whopping size 6 of foot.  Will post on local selling site all the smaller sizes (end of an era!!) 

Quick trip down to the recycling centre with a few broken electrical items and very old spectacles.

Soaking marrowfat peas for soup and mushy peas this week. 

Looking at the best fixed rate savings accounts, and wondering how long it is going to take for the rates to go up.

If anyone is not on the electoral roll, or if your kids have turned 16/17 and they are not yet on the electoral roll, it takes seconds and can be done online.   and hugs to anyone struggling, or anyone who needs one.

re the wellies, the great thing was that when my DS grew out of his 5s I went into them.

re the savings rates, I WAS going to go for new ones early this month but in view of the current (insert appropriate unpleasant word) I am thinking to leave it until the end of this month or maybe even November.  I thought Boris was bad but this lot are dire.  I actually had a moment when I thought that a really big non-tory might be financing them just to crash it all

They are all disaster capitalists - from the articles they have written -  they know how to make money out of disasters and crises and chaos in the financial market, so it seems they have engineered the most disastrous leader (the human hand grenade)  to take over from the wonky shopping trolley (Boris) to make a shed load of money before a grown up comes along and sends them to the naughty step. 

They voted for Truss instead of  voting in the  (tiny)  bloke who was totally odious, but had a degree of fiscal responsibility.....

If it were deliberate, it would be playing out perfectly, if this is not deliberate, and she actually believes a word coming out of her own mouth, then someone needs to stage an intervention for her own good.

Congrats @foxholes. I have to admit, I think you've earned it given the running around you did after SG, how tolerant you were of her, and the work you've put into dealing with probate. So enjoy.

As for the politicians, I can't say I've ever met one I'd voluntarily spend time with, but this lot seem to have had some kind of surgery to bypass whatever brains they were originally blessed with.

I still do not have the 'deed of variation' from her brother and sister worth £180- ish a year.  All they need to do is sign it in front of 2 witnesses not named in the will, and post it back, and I can finally be free of these useless solicitors.  They won't release the Grant of Probate to me until this last thing is done.   Then, and only then, can I write a g00gle review.

The health insurance people have not yet re-issued the cheques either.  

Still DS3 and 4 are very excited about getting new bikes.

It is like the 1980s Spitting Image characters have all melted and morphed into real life somehow. Doctor Who couldn't have written the script better.
