I have booked myself on a boat to Ireland at the weekend, I will check for any post, leave some prepaid labelled envelopes for any post that might still come through (I have not received any redirected post at all for 3 weeks now - I am very suspicious), check the house is secure, load up the car again, and make sure I know how much is left over, and maybe that will let me stop being a total lunatic. I am only there for one day! Will take photos of the large items that need to be sold .I am so stressed about the whole business that I am not sleeping, so I decided I should just go over now quickly, and then the next time I have to go over in the school holidays, that should be the last time I have to, and I can combine that with signing documents and taking the kids to Dr F-H's parents. Fingers crossed. One of her friends has asked if I am getting rid of any duvets, so they might as well go to a good home sooner rather than later. I can tell the neighbour how much the house sold for (she is very interested in case she needs to sell hers).I sent the cheque for the headstone today.Tried to buy a 2023 diary - just a cheapie from a card shop (nope) or the £ emporium (nope)- DH is throwing conference dates at me for next year already. Nice that they are coming to him direct, so far one in the NE, and one in Austria. School just gave all the dates for next year holidays in the end of year newsletter that came out today. So there is plenty to begin putting into 2023 already.

We got our 2022-23 term dates in January this year! I knew it wasn’t normal. I’ve only just got to the stage where I thought it was acceptable to put the dates in the diary (app).2025 decluttering: 4,011 🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅🌟

I would have thought the academic calendars/diaries would be out by now - the one's that start in July/August and are usually for 15 or 18 months - after all it's not long until then. There's certainly diaries online at the long river shop but not cheap!

Thanks! for whatever that was ^^I am going to have to go the route of the academic diary this year, I suspect, but my brain screams Noooooo! Starting a diary in July makes my tentacles itch.Today I am your roaming correspondent. The shipping expert. I got up at 4.30, left my house at 5.00, pulled into a layby at 7 to check I had not left my keys behind, got to the ferry port at 8.20 had lovely cup of coffee and my overnight oats in a jam jar I made last night, and boarded the boat at 9.20. Yay!Not a jot of rain, whatever those weather witches were claiming. Blue skies and sunshine all the way. Luckily nobody from the East Midlands wants to go anywhere near Liverpool on a Saturday so the roads were totally clear. Love Watling Street. Those Romans knew what they were doing.By Jove but I am knackered though.Listening to R4 at an unholy hour, it was the shipping weather forecast (whoop! whoop!) and then Prayer For The Day (what??? I knew about Thought of the Day but Prayer?? when did that happen?? ) which made me laugh as the woman said it was 6 months until Xmas, and the French celebrate LEON today, LEON is NOEL backwards. Apparently people wot is organised start their festive prep lists today........If I am ever that organised I expect one of you to take me out and shoot me. It would be a kindnessDH has scheduled online gaming and his play-group 'meetings' every night next week except Monday, so I will have lots of lovely time to unpack step-gran's nonsense and put it away or photo and sell it.Have a lovely day wherever you are, and whatever you are doing. Every single thing you do today, no matter how small, is progress.

I know what you mean about starting a diary in July! It's ridiculous but needs must sometimes. I don't have that nonsense any more with grown up children and even grown up grandchildren!

I have a grown up academic husband, and after being on a panel at a big animal welfare conference last year held online, he is getting requests to come to conferences - I have dates up to June next year already. The idea of a 5 year diary is terrifying! The academic / 16 month diary seems like the gateway drug equivalent of hardcore diary use.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I hate to say it, but I've actually bought 2 Christmas gifts already
One was a jar of Costa Coffee that you could get for 50p after using a cashback app, so that's for Mr VH's hamper of delicious things, and the other was a nice candle I found in TK Maxx for my sister. She likes "fresh" scents but they were quite hard to find last Christmas as naturally the shelves tend to be festive-scent focused, so I figured if I get a few early then it's one less thing to look for.
Also I try to avoid using a certain Big River online retailer for Christmas, for various reasons, and I only really succeed if I start buying early, it reduces the risk of last-minute panic buying."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.
