 I drive a nippy little Micra, this is a 7 seater  S-Max. It is  a lot wider. 

The boat is newer, so the ramp is in the middle of the boat,  on the middle floor,  rather than the pre-covid terrifying left hand side  ramp where you  parked  on the top of the boat in a  wheel of death experience.  The kids screamed. Every time.

Sorry to hear the news of uncle in law & that you will have to wrangle the the in laws more soon. I hope the surveyor (or whoever failed) does get a proper rollocking for the door. There is something in the water today with mayhem (have had a dose full myself).

As Kerri says you'll be fine, take your time. When I drove a small car I had to be quite bolshy about staking my place on the road, i'm sure you're the same in the micra, so the S-max will just give you the size of vehicle to go with the mindset.

I think things may be progressing.  I got this email at  4pm from the solicitors secretary.

This is the whole message:

 I am posting the documents to you today by first class recorded delivery post so they will need to be signed for at your end.

I wonder what they are?  The documents for what?  Probate I assume... but then again ... ??

Oh well, I guess I will find out tomorrow.

so bored.  I had plans and everything, but now I am stuck in the living room waiting for postie (they cannot seem to  grasp the concept of a doorbell)

So, the forms came, they were forms I had signed once already, and had had witnessed, in NI,  but they say I did not -  gaslighting anyone?? -  phantom solicitor syndrome??

So, went out this morning, got them signed and witnessed  AGAIN, by another solicitor - £10 for a signature witness is robbery. I needed two, so £20, the receipt went in the expenses envelope I sent with it.  They looked shocked I wanted a receipt.

They also did not accept card payments.  So I had to go to the cash machine. FFlipsSake!! 

Professionals?? I am not so sure....

Anyway, all done again, all posted off bright and early (9.10am) so that should be that sorted. . . . .  keep it all crossed for me.

DH has swanned off again on an academic retreat, he will be home to sleep and go back tomorrow, so I have the house to myself, and a mouth full of chemical air scenter whatnot from the solicitors reception area.

Hopefully not much longer....

The solicitors might have the impression I am miffed.  They emailed this afternoon to say it will take around 3 weeks to get the certificate granted. House selling solicitor is happy with the way everything is going.

I want to be able to give s/g's friends their bequests before they snuff it. It is only around £5k between them, so I don't think I will need to wait on the house selling before divvying up their shares so  they can enjoy it in the sunshine somewhere.

At their age, a week by the seaside  in a hotel would be a fine thing to do with it.  They all get  the £300 winter heating bribe, so they need to make hay while the sun shines and not think about the winter. If any of them caught the 'vid it would probably wipe them out anyway-  like the dinosaurs. 

Poor f-i-l is expecting his brother's funeral to happen in about 11 weeks...the Irish system of 3 days and buried  unless family is expected from abroad is a much more humane system.

The countdown is on for the end of term - 17 school runs left.

My FIL was even quicker than 3 days - i honestly had to double check it really was that day in the week they meant and not the following week...he was very well in with the priest, everything prearranged and I'm 99% sure they'd have probably moved even Christmas to accommodate him if necessary. 

That said, Jews are even faster, like mcarbe monopoly,  Go straight into the ground do not stop at the morgue, do not collect £200 and the rabbi will be along in a jiffy.

but in Kent, 12 weeks is considered normal.

Love the idea of macabre  monopoly, they already have the top hat, maybe a little tin hearse, and a coffin, and a headstone.
