And .... she's back on the boat! All banks vanquished (not easy - one even wanted a copy of the will just to freeze the account until probate! Just the one though, but it was the one that does not have a presence outside of the province of Ulster. Even though it is a branch of the Westminster National Bank, they cannot see the Provincial Bank's accounts. So they have all they need. The solicitors have all they need until the court comes back with probate. The drive had stones thrown on it to fill the potholes (lack-of-kerb private road appeal - first impressions and all that jazz)Estate agents signed up (0.75% of selling price fee (plus the iniquitous 20% vat) but free probate valuation, all the photos were taken, and the board goes up on the weekend, it goes up on the interweb on Tuesday, the gardens look fab. Wait and see what happens.Once again I inspire marvel and awe at quite how much I can get in the back of a Ni$$an Mlcra, bedside tables, chests of drawers, even a whole desk. The desk took 2 men to lift it out, I got it in with the aid of a piece of carpet and a really quite loose relationship with maths and physics (angles and gravity). Anyway, suffice to say the charity furniture place would not pick up from the house as it was 0.3km further than their stupid boundary line, so I moved everything except the 2 wardrobes, the massive dresser, and a 6 seater mahogany dining table (you know the one
) and one double bed. They can all go to the auction house, I could probably have made about £100 if it had gone to auction, but I would have had to have stayed on for an extra week for them to pick it up, and as Sunday is the anniversary of me and Dr F0xh0les marriage, on Sunday I will have been Mrs F0xh0les for longer than I was my Pre-F0xh0les name, which is mental, I really want to be at home and demand a bit of wifely attention, as is my flippin' due!!!! So there. Worship me.
The house is 90% cleared (I have a feeling the chairs will not be re-saleable as, although they are ParkerKnoll they have been reupholstered and the fire safety labels have disappeared. Pouff!! gone!!I will get a Rates rebate (they did not dare bring The Tax of the Council in NI due to fear of civil unrest the likes of which have never been seen before) as the house is 'lightly furnished' and going through probate. Yay for me.I have tried to keep her siblings in the loop, but neither of them are bothered, they said I can do what I like, don't ask their opinion, as I am doing all the work, just send them a cheque when it is finished. For Flippety Flip (insert rude word)'s Sake.It looks like we might be walking away with about £125k each.... and they don't even have an opinion when I tell them what the EA's % fee is. They do not even pretend to care.I did have to wonder what kind of family they are, remember I told you the brother wanted a picture hanging on the wall in the house? Well I bubble wrapped it, made a St George's cross with big pillow bubble wrap, then made a cardboard box the right size, and a collar to protect the frame, bubble wrapped it again and then brown papered it on the floor in the post office, got the lady behind the counter to stick a million FRAGILE labels on it, and sent it. Well!! I found a weird message left on the phone of the house I do not live in, in a country in which I do not reside, saying how well the painting was wrapped, and that he had not expected me to send the frame. I mean it cost less than a tenner to send!! What is the matter with some people? Can I have that painting hanging on the wall ? Yes, but not the frame!!Can I have your last r0l0? Yes, but I'm going to suck the chocolate off first!I really am starting to suspect they were all dropped on their heads at birth. It damaged the 'Simple Thank-You' part of their brains. They all seem to have inherited the same condition. TW*TS. I am glad we do not share any genetic material. The Sister sent me a 4 line email that basically said do what you like, I'm not getting involved - and is the solicitor going to send a copy of the will so I can see it for myself - I said I would send her a photocopy if she wanted. Suddenly she did not want. I do not understand them. Poor people. In every sense of the word.So there is nothing I can do for around 12 weeks until I get to play S4nta Claus and distribute my bounty** - but I will not have sucked off the chocolate coating*insert vowel of choice** commercial vegan bounty's are called Mah0lo, and are really expensive (£3 each) but are dead easy to make at home without all the palm 0il and carp in them.By the way, we are sailing (a la R0d Stewart).

nowt as queer as folk f0xh0les, thank you for all the effort you are putting in and make sure to cover all your costs incurred as advised by greent from the estate before distributing to the ungrateful sods.
re the parker knolls, a charity won't take them without the fire labels but joe public will, can you chuck them on the marketplace of farcebook, or if there is a place that runs upholstery courses somewhere nearby they may have students who would take them for practice (if you have a pic and advise location I can see if there are any in my networks)

Happy anniversary to Mrs + Dr F0xh0les!
NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!3 -
Well we went out to a lovely Indian restaurant for the Anniversary lunch (the one those Hairy Bykers went to with the motorbike in it), 6 people, starters plus mains, £108 (£9 of it was service charge). We are all so stuffed we are skipping supper (toast is on offer to anyone with a second stomach or hollow legs). DS1 rolled off to catch his coach 'home', he is down there for a month then back here for summer. He seems much more inclined to get a job now. He is getting £3k of his loan for less than 30 days. How is that supposed to teach them to budget?I have brought lots of things back from s/g house - did get a bit upset as I was sitting waiting to be able to leave for the boat, as I realised it was my grandfather's house. I felt more upset that I was selling his house, than when I thought I was selling s/g's house. But he has been dead over 30 years. Weird innit?Yesterday was the first anniversary of my friend's death (a year younger than me) from suspected C0vid. That gave me a wobble too.Still, I have Waterf0rd crystal glassware to dispose of, who even knew there is a roaring second hand trade in hearing aids on t'Bay? some coral bits of jewellery, bits of B-Leek, Coalport dancing ladies, etc, etc, etc.Suddenly the birds really seem to be going for it. Singing their little faces off.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
