50% is a great landmark and just under 80k ...
Enjoy being let out, it is lovely today - cold but freshDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

This month gets stranger and stranger.....Sent off an email about a 5 day gig at a local uni graduation at 7am this morning, while drinking tea and disliking Richard Madeley intensely, and I got an email back before 10am, asking if I was still interested, told me exactly what role I was being considered for, and now just have to wait for them to get back to me with the pay rate. So, I may have just inadvertently got 60 hours of paid employment this month, and a contact at a job agency. I know this is hardly a new career, but if I can pick up some work here and there, then I really feel I should.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I think they want me, they just emailed to see if I require a parking spot.£9 an hour for the first 10 hours a day, then £11 for the last 2 hours x 5 = £560ish. Not to be sniffed at for a casual gig, the kids will go on the bus (£40) for the week, will also apply for invigilator work while I am at it. If I am within crumpet throwing distance of 2 universities, then I might as well make it work for me. I still want the kids holidays off this academic year, so school/uni term work is ideal.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I was going to say that when exam time rolls around the universities will need invigilators so keep an eye out for those."You won't bloom until you're planted" - Graffiti spotted in Newcastle.

Schools are also crying out for invigilators - there appears to be a national shortage from what I've seen on some fb00k groups!- covid means quite a lot stopped for varying reasons. No idea how regular it is in a uni, but at the school I work in there are 3 -5 days in Sept, a couple in Oct, 2.5 weeks in Nov, all of the days it's open in Dec, a week in Jan, some of March, some of April and then most of May, all of June and a bit in July... not that anyone is obligated to work it all!! - and some of it is half days. Plus some in-year testing throughout the year every 6 weeks ishI am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £205
