Chelmsford is my old stomping ground (not Uni though), and it's a great place to live/work (although much more expensive than when I was there).5

f0xh0les said:I planted some lobelia, cornflower, basil, thyme, yellow french bean, green french bean, pea, sunflower, and gherkin seeds this morning. All part packets, they might grow, they might not, who knows!! It is all an amazing experiment. This ^^ was 7 days ago, and I already have sunflowers, basil, yellow and green beans, sunflowers, peas, gherkins, and a little forest of dill, all up and pointing their little leaves up out of the soil. No thyme, parsley, lobelia or cornflowers yet. Not bad for 'chuck it in and see' gardening. Was totally put through the wringer by Christian Erikson this afternoon. Utterly traumatised. CPR live on TV. Crazy. So glad he is sitting up and able to talk now. Told DH I would not be happy if he suddenly dropped dead. He agreed not to do it.My fridge still appears to be rammed full of food, even though we have cooked lots of it.Lunch was bagels and pittas with cheese and hummus and quacamole and salad - sounds like loads of veg, but the fridge was still rammed. So I made a huge fruit salad, but then it had to be refrigerated until needed, so the fridge was still rammed,Then we used up 2 packs of tofu and 2 peppers for supper, but the fridge was still rammed.I am going to make an apple and plum sponge pudding tomorrow morning (for after lunch), and some blueberry muffins to whack in the freezer as I have 2 punnets to use up - they will do lunchboxes and after school snacks - will the fridge still be rammed? I suspect it will be!Sunday Lunch will be pizza as I have a whole jam jar of home made tomato sauce, a lot of peppers, and 4 frozen sausages left to use up. Supper might be Szechuan cabbage- the napa cabbage we have is bigger than my head, but that should get another few bits out of the fridge. I could do a broccoli cheese pasta bake on Monday, and Salt and Pepper Aubergine on Tuesday. Beef(less) pasties on Wednesday and hopefully that will only leave me 1/4 of the fridge full .....Maybe I should write a pop up book called Why is My Fridge Still Rammed???? - a la The Very Hungry Caterpillar. That is what it feels like.M-i-l is mithering dh about coming/going over to visit - Ireland says you don't need to isolate from the UK but really now, come on, only go on essential journeys, and honestly, just don't.She says F-i-L is depressed - but that she is depressed too, in fact she has more reason to be depressed than he does (at that point he zoned out - competitive illness is just weird) So now DH is grumpy and my Saturday night might as well be chucked in the bin as he will be upset and stressy all night now.So I will drink a cup of tea and go to bed with a trashy book now that Belgium has beaten Russia.

OH was watching the game and called me in from the garden. I'm quite sure they didn't mean to show the CPR, I guess camera operators don't train for such things very often. All very distressing, what got me was how long his poor team mates had to stand round before they found any screens, surely they should have those easily assessable pitch side for bad injuries.
So glad to hear he's stable in hospital, horrific but in hindsight if you're going to drop, it wasn't a bad place to do it. Imagine if he'd have been home alone. Wishing him a full and speedy recovery.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I have a colleague who just returned to Ireland from visiting family in the UK, she had to isolate. Said they weren't strict Ireland to UK way on checks but were the other way about.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I have just spent a very funny 45 minutes with DS3 doing 2 quick crosswords courtesy of The Gr0niad newspaper online. He is really in to it, but it hurts his 13 year old brain, so after we completed two fully without cheating, I showed him the ones his grandpa likes, the cryptic ones, which he thinks are absolutely ridiculous and cannot believe someone gets paid to write such utter nonsense.Oh well, at least it was educational, he is currently (not) being taught Maths by a PE teacher and (not) English by a geography teacher. Very very miffed he is. They are reintroducing sets and streams when he starts back in year 9. He cannot wait.Very hot here today - it got up to 26 degrees, and it was a good deal warmer than that in my little car.But ... the kitchen was hoovered then mopped, the coffee machine and kettle were descaled, 24 litres of plant milk has entered my house - DS3 loudly complained he preferred almond milk yesterday, and why did I not buy almond milk instead, and dh said he preferred it too, and would like me to buy it more often, if the budget allows, so I stood there in the middle of ______ tjhis morning but did not know if they wanted sweetened, or unsweetened, not knowing you get 4 of each in a crate, so bought one that was opened the blue end, and one of the orange end, got home, and realised I could have got away with just one crate. Every day is a school day!Tomorrow I will be 47 years old. I do not feel 47. Half the time I don't feel 27. and you know what?It might just be time to start a 3 year plan. Now that is something to ponder on overnight......4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
