Yay! Today I have made more on p/a than I spent on anti-histamines in the chemist.Loving my new 83's playlist and finding it really funny that DH does not know all the songs on it. - the radio was on all the time in my house growing up - back when Capital Radio was 194 on the dial and Kenny Everett was famous for being fabulous. We had so much soft fruit left over after the session, and nowhere cold to store it before it could be rescued in 30 hours, so I have strawberries and peaches galore in my fruit bowl today. Lucky me!I am really enjoying not having the heating on. The weather is quite nice really, but I am not enjoying waking up at 3.30 every morning because it is getting light and the birds feel the need to tell me. Cheap flippin' cheap, and waking again at 4.30 because it must be getting up time, it is broad daylight! So all the nice frocks are out of the wardrobe and are being worn in rotation, hooray! Pretending to be a girl for a while.3 days left of the half term holidays, weather forecast looking good, I have books to read, fruit in the fruitbowl, food in the pantry, ice cream in the freezer and an early very cheap 5 day holiday in Whitby to look forward to - I will see Puffins this year**!!!! It is going to happen! It is! It is!**this is a reoccuring theme. My never having seen a puffin. It pains me.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I went to Bempton Cliffs a few years ago and saw one puffin through a telescope. You couldn’t see it with the naked eye so I decided it didn’t count. We went to Skomer and saw hundreds of them which was fantastic, but it’s a long way from you @f0xh0lesIf Plan A fails, remember there are 25 more letters6

See! Where in the UK are you @kerri_gt ? Ihave forgotten. They stick around until July I am reliably informed. I have seen seals and porpoises and once on the Stena ferry to Ireland we saw a whale - not sure what kind, but it was there and the captain was very excited, but I have not yet seen a seahorse, or a puffin.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I suppose the ones on the North Cornish coast would be the closest (well, relatively closest) to you. Or Wales. We used to go to the Pine Forest up in Formby (Lancashire) to try and see red squirrels, we had some lovely days out on the beach and in the forest, but never saw one single blasted squirrel. The kids were totally convinced after the 5th or 6th time, that it was all a con, and started to ask if we could go on a day trip to 'that place that didn't have squirrels'
We did find very friendly grey squirrels in Sheffield and Chester who were quite happy to take peanuts from your hand, so that did a bit to console them, but they have never forgotten The Liar Forest.
We went out this afternoon to the botanical gardens and re- staged a photo we took 6 years ago after we first moved here. So m-i-l should be happy if I get it printed out and sent to her. After all, she might not recognise them otherwise. Kind of a 'before' and 'after'. Plus DS1 will have some photos of his family to take away to Uni with him.I planted some lobelia, cornflower, basil, thyme, yellow french bean, green french bean, pea, sunflower, and gherkin seeds this morning. All part packets, they might grow, they might not, who knows!! It is all an amazing experiment. Will plant some more tomorrow when I get some more compost and fill up the planters with flowers. They are all outside so I can keep the window sills clear and clean for once. I just need to remember to water them, and they will do what they want.Lunch was (not)chicken burgers and a really nice tomato salad, and supper tonight is toasted cheese sandwiches and salad, or bread and pate and salad. I have lots of bread to use up!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Wow, I couldn't tell you the last time I saw a red squirrel, i was prob under 10 at least.
I've been planting some strawberry plants a friend gave me today, one doesn't seem to have great roots so doubting it will take but you never know. We traded, she now has my excess tomato plants from a supermarket tom which may or may not fruit.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Just had to pop in to say we have LOADS of red squirrels in the woods beside my house, we often see them when we are walking the dog. One of my neighbours has a squirrel feeder and gets daily visits.
