Thank you VH, that was very much needed.DH informed me today he has run out of space for presents that he has bought or have arrived for the kids. MIL has bought DS3 some Turkish Delight, it arrived, we told her, she got an email to say it had not been delivered and her money was refunded so she bought it again and had it sent, same thing again, she knows it has been delivered, she took the refund and ordered again,3 times!! . I will have to split them between the boys. His teeth will fall out if he eats all that. I will have a wrapping session on Friday, and sort out DS4s birthday gifts and wrap those too. Then compare the piles, and make sure they are 'similar'.Tomorrow is a work day for me. Which means 8 days left until Xmas Eve, 7 days left until DS4s birthday, 5 days until the Solstice, and 2 more mornings to get up with an alarm clock!!I was adding more dates into my next year calendar this afternoon - February is a busy month already! Wonder if we will be able to actually go anywhere in Feb half term.... erm .... then again DH would not go with us anyway. Can't second guess a virus.Right, I have to go and order my lists into 'things that need to be done with no kids about the place', and 'things that can be done with an audience'. Explosives acquired, MOT passed, need to do car insurance comparison this weekend - if it is after the 17th it goes on next month's cc bill, before the 17th and it will be on this month's, and I quite fancy paying the mortgage down to £88,000 (45% LTV) for January 1st and still having £15k for EF. That will mean I will hit 50% by January 2022.Herr Al Dee start their 19p and 14p fruit and veg tomorrow, Mr T's have their 29p Xmas veg already, Herr Lee Del start their 15p F&V, so there is no excuse not to get your 5 a day in, and the 19p for 2kg potatoes are going out of their plastic bags and straight into my brown paper sack in the dark pantry. We may well be grateful for them come Brexitmas. We have that barrel of laughs to look forward to next year.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Ohhh 19p for spuds is tempting, i need to get a few bits next week and frankly am dreading the shops. Am working right up to Christmas so will also be on limited time, and our nearest Ald! is in totally the other direction to A$da which now has a super cheap petrol station (well 109.7p ltr vs 117.9p - 119.9p locally).
Feel free to send some turkish delight this way, i am partial to some though never seem to buy it.
I too bought a calendar for next year, need one for work. Got as far as putting OH birthday on and gave up. Naff all planned to July which is a race carried over from this year. I am seriously thinking of just using a post it note that just reads 'same as yesterday ' on it instead.
Our local Craft Coop store has a giving tree and its the first year not all the tags have been taken and filled (last year it was tagged three times over), so they're short of xmas gifts for those tagged. I'd really like to do one to help but the present needs to be back under the tree by 19th and i can't see I'll be in town twice before then.
So have you managed to stash your bog roll?Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

That very morning I went out and bought from the Farm of Frozen Foods, my 6 week stash of 4 x 18 rolls, so all the bathroom cupboards are full, and the box is sat in the middle of my bedroom. I might just put them all under the tree and let the kids pass them to me, when they are distributing the gifts, just as a life lesson.Today the f/b was mental, the session overran because we were not going to turn anyone away, so a 1 hour session ended up as a nearly 2 hour session. It is just before the end of term, which was the last time it was properly mental as well - the day before October half term - so that can go in the diary, mind you, there are still more people coming each week anyway.Tomorrow is the last day of school, 3 finish at 12, one finishes at 3. I am going to go to H&B and get the 'festive roasts', while they are all at school in the morning. I bought DH, DS1 and DS2 new PJs from Herr Al Dee because they were £8.99 and look nice. One of my mugs that I made on SNAPF1SH has arrived, it was buy one get one free. There is no sign of the second one. It will either turn up or not. It is all on one order number, so the tracking number only covers the one mug. Well that will just be exciting as to where it is and whether it turns up.The supermarket is quite quiet in the evenings (after 7pm) and in the morning up until about 10. The veg prices are totally fabulous.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

The second mug turned up!I am sat here feeling quite smug, everything that needs posting has gone, I have a ceramic lemon juicer thing that I found in a c/s, and a brown earthenware bundt mold thing, a cocktail shaker, some individual metal flan cases, a biscuit tray shaped like fluted shells (so the shortbread gifts for my old men does not need to be bone shaped), two loads of laundry are on the line, I have bought some bits from the chemist, wrapped two gifts to give during the week to fellow volunteers - it is vegan propaganda - and I have a date with DH this afternoon, in the bedroom, with non-alcoholic gin and mixers, and we are going to do a present inventory and separate out DS4s birthday gifts. The traffic yesterday was absolutely awful. I know the schools kicked out, but still, it was gridlocked from 11 - 3, every parking space taken, people everywhere shopping, no concept of social distancing. Very scary. The worst thing though, that I found really upsetting, was the number of young girls, about 11 -12 yrs oldd, wandering aroun clutching cans of M0nster. Do they not know that stuff is bad for you? Anyway I am glad I do not have to go into a shop anymore. I have decided I will go when I am at work, and at no other time, so Mondays and Thursdays are the only days I should spend money. The shops are only closed for 48 hours, so if I do not have something, then I will do without.Today I am steaming my replacement pudding and cleaning stuff - upstairs for the last time this year (except the odd wipe round of the bathroom) the kids can keep their own rooms clean, and downstairs, just primping the decorations and making it more festive in the front and back rooms, which will be tidied before bed each night so that there is nothing much to do and it will not build up into an unholy mess.Next week I am working Monday and Thursday, Wednesday is DS4s birthday, Friday is Xmas Day, Saturday is Boxing Day.Step gran got her osteoperosis jab last week, and her flu jab yesterday so she is sorted until she gets contacted about the virus jab. She actually asked me if she should take it or not. Well, she has no spleen, takes a daily antibiotic because she has no immune system after 3 bouts of cancer and multiple rounds of chemo and radiotherapy over that last 40 years, if she gets a cough she ends up hospitalised, and is on just about every medication known to man, so why on earth would she not take the flippin' thing???? and I am worried about her mental faculties after she spent 15 minutes telling me B0ris the Clown has done an absolutely sterling job fighting the virus and being PM. Honestly, if they have a posh voice and a willy then she believes every word they say.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Oh dear DS3 has many more presents than everyone else, and DS4 has a woefully small amount once his birthday gifts are removed. It is because anyone who has bought him a birthday gift, has sent a gift card/voucher for Xmas so the pile is tiny. Will have to raid the c/shop for a 'learn to crochet' book and a few balls of wool, a book on pickling (the boy loves vinegar pickles), a fountain pen, and a few shirts and things for learning to knit. At least I found out now rather than Xmas Eve though.Gave DH the gifts I have bought myself for the kids to give me. I will be suitably surprised. All laundry done, so I will fold it all and return to owner (the lesser known Elvis song) after supper tonight.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Well done on getting sorted early! Good idea to buy your own gifts from the kids (mine always used to choose mine and kept buying me milk chocolate and I hated it but absolutely love dark chocolate but like you was always surprised!).

Anything that I do not like (or if I get too much) gets melted down/crushed and reappears as tiffin one afternoon, that they happily munch down.
They have never caught on.
Today has gone by so quickly, then this new no travel apart from Christmas day / Tier 4 stuff happened and I got sucked into the news broadcasts - a week before Xmas day is not the time to be doing this B0ris!! I am sure if you have made plans to be elsewhere, you are not going to be sitting alone in your flat following the rules, having bought in nothing for Xmas, and braving the shops to 'do it proper' on your own. The man is an eedjit.Tier 4 is what LeShire were in for over 100 days. Except now you are allowed to meet one person outdoors - we were not even allowed that, it was residents only inside and outside the house, and not allowed to mix households while doing daily mandated exercise either. But now that it is in London, it needs a special name, and a special tier, a special level. Get over yourself.*I lived in London for the first 19 years of my life until I discovered the Northern Pound goes much further than inside the M25. I am an economic migrant to the East Midlands, do you think Pritti Patel will come for me?4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
