Baileys_Babe said:they decided to have wall panels instead of tiles, it looks really good and they say they find it quicker and easier to clean, especially as there is no grout to scrub.

I would second splashwall- it’s so easy to clean and much easier to fit (and refit if you get a leak in the wall) than tiles. It also gives you the clean modern look of high gloss tiles. I have had it fitted twice and will never go back to tiles again. Though initial outlay for materials is pricey.9

DH has just come home absolutely livid, he took the 2 smallest on their bikes down to the local park for a quick 30 minute exercise break, and there is a group of over 30 people having a party down there. No social distancing, dressed up, and drunk as skunks, parents and kids, and broken glass all over the paths. We are supposed to be in lockdown! Well, lockdown seems to be over. The volunteers were talking about how they had met up with friends, and seemed to think if their 'bubble' friends live outside the lockdown area, then they are allowed to go and visit them and stay overnight. They think they are being clever. Honestly, it is all crazy here.,,,and now I have an angry stressed out man who never wants to leave the house again. So, we get an update on the alleged lockdown here again on the 30th. There is no information being given to us at all since Hatt Man made his announcement, and we feel like we have been forgotten. Well, I am going to be strapped into my mask from now on even walking down the street (I have been wearing one in shops for the last 4 months!) but it seems I am surrounded by idiots. Groups of people wandering the streets again, it is only 3 miles to the invisible barrier where the pubs and restaurants are open. Darwin would have a field day with this lot.Shopping last night was good, very y/s and cheap, right up until I remembered we needed Mr Tw1nnings teabags (2x£5) and replacement heads for the kids toothbrushes (£9) and dh wanted me to pick up something (£6) and by that time my shopping bill had doubled to £49. Oh well, it is not every week. Next week will be super super cheap, and I have lot of New York sesame bagels that the kids love (ys 25p). So still within budget.I filled the car with petrol as well, should do me until the end of August.Nowhere to go and nothing to do. The laundry has dried on the line.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Ugh, rotten you are stuck in lockdown still F0xh0les, esp when its no longer 'everyone in it together'.
Regarding trades, in the first lockdown trades were still allowed to work so long as social distancing was observed in places. Is it different this time round or are you seeing folks who are not working because others are shielding?
I have been disgusted at the amount of litter and glass in parks from people, not only is it dangerous but if they can bring it out with them, they can take it home 😡 (and don't get me started on discarded masks and gloves 😡😡😡)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

The non-essential shops are allowed to reopen from Friday in the lock down zone. That will give people something to do.I have done my finger !!!!!! blood test and sent that off to the whitecoats, they are testing monthly to see if antibodies are present - I do not get the results, and I requested a postal test (face swabs) (that I will get the result from) at 4pm yesterday online and it has plopped through the letterbox just before 10am today. Will do it at 4pm, take it to the priority post box to be picked up at 5pm and they will have it back by tomorrow morning. I feel very grown up, but still at the back of my mind I am aware the government has my DNA. Unlikely to be the first governmental list I am on!DS1 is trying to kick off over generic vegan chocolate powder covered puffed rice. The year was 2020, and the second war of cocopops had just concluded its bloodiest battle, does not quite have the ring of The Terminator does it? Anyway, the man-child who will be 18 in less than 11 weeks is having a sulk about not being allowed the cereal he did not ask for, while not eating the cereal he opened and did ask for, but would rather eat someone else's choice. First world problems eh?
He won't die from not having second breakfast, he is too big to be a H0bbit.
The dentist has already rung this morning to reschedule the appointment that was already rescheduled at the start of lockdown, as they can only see half the people they normally do, so he is now bumped back to the end of September.Today will be a repeat of yesterday. Not leaving the house, cleaning a few bits, reading a book, feeding people by the clock.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Finally cashed out £7 from a c/b site that I bought from in December! There are some very cute kids' DM boots in their sale at the moment, but sadly all leather ones. Just a heads up - and don't forget the c/b.So today will be another NSD. I am doing really well on not spending this month, I rarely spend money more than 1 day a week. There is nothing I need except food.7 days til the promotion panel meets (eeek!)9 days til payday (whoop!)10 days til August.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Our dentist cancelled our appointments and told us to get in touch if we have a problem, no clues to when we might be allowed a check up.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Promotion panel fingers firmly crossed here! I can cross a couple of toes too if that would help!

Fingers crossed for promotion panel.
I have wall panels in my lovely new bathroom and can also vouch for them being infinitely easier to clean than the tiles that were there previously. So much so that I still have the spare panels and intend to use them to 'decorate' my recently cleared outhouse/dumpNot giving up
