Tories 14 point lead slashed by half according to latest Yougov poll. Tories now enjoying a mere 7 point lead over Labour.

    https://www.politicshome.com/news/uk/politics/opinion-polls/politicshome-polls/78056/labour-polling-deficit-stands-13-tns-poll

    :)

The headline to your link reads 'Labour polling deficit stands at 13% - TNS poll' and contains the statement "Of 2015 Labour voters, only 39% said Mr Corbyn was the best leader for Britain, while 21% backed the Prime Minister. The rest either did not know or supported neither" and "More respondents believe Labour will split (33%) than survive its current fracture (24%)."

It takes a very special kind of stupidity to spin that report into something positive for Labour.:rotfl:

YouGov last week reported a 14% deficit for Mr Corbyn’s party.

But its updated figures today have headline figures of the Tories down four points on 38% and Labour up three on 31%.

You have to read between the lines when accessing the mainstream media, and think for yourself.

I appreciate that ability is in rather short supply on this forum.

Seems to me that "thinking for yourself" has taken you from LibDem to Hard Leftie in hardly any time at all.....quite the leap.

It's hard to imagine how you get from middle of the road Liberal to screaming "you red tory" and "Blairite Scum" at people who have been in the Labour Party for decades.

    You couldn't make it up.

You really are The Special One.
  • Oh dear....

No one who is opposed to austerity (otherwise known as 'living within your means') can ever answer it:

Where is the money going to come from?

It is a simple fact of life...never ever borrow money to buy a depreciating asset. So...get a mortgage, avoid HP, don't buy holidays on your credit card, if you run out of money on saturday and don't get paid till monday? - stay in.

So, can anyone tell me the answer? Where's the money coming from?
A quote from Margaret Thatcher: Socialism is fine until you run out of other peoples' money.

Went to the local Labour Party meeting on Thursday to choose the candidate that the meeting will support. Very different atmosphere to the usual meeting. There were loads of new members, many of them only too happy to tell us how things needed to change etc. Of course Corbyn won the vote and the new members took great pleasure in cheering in my face because they knew I supported Smith. The hate in their eyes and triumphalism was something I'd not actually seen from Tory opponents. The Chair of the Party welcomed them all and said its great to see all our new members and how excited they are and we look forward to seeing exactly the same numbers trudging the streets of the constituency door knocking during the next Election campaign! I think his irony was lost on them. Comrades who dared to speak against Corbyn were shouted down and called red tories/ Blairites. When it was pointed out to them that we'll have an MP having to go into an election canvassing for a leader she has no faith in, they said we'll deselect her! Remember this is a hard fought Labour/Tory marginal with a 1K majority. Most of these new members didn't even know that!

I call this as absolute bullshtt.

If you'd actually attended any meeting you would know full well that members not eligible to vote in the election, I.e. from after January, are not eligible to vote in, or even attend the constituency nomination meetings that are occurring.

I went to one last week and it was respectful and deferential. Everyone got a say and a clap whether they were pro Smith or Corbyn and some of the new members came at the end for a social.

You have provided a perfect example of the anti Corbyn sewage that the mainstream has to create because they can't find anything actually wrong to complain about. Other than people daring to disagree with them.

    Shame on you.

I keep telling people that in fact the 'Nasty Party' is not the Tories. I've seen this in action, when a friend stormed out of his own dinner party in a temper because we told him we were thinking of voting Tory. I've seen another friend's 'death to Tories' spouting on Facebook. I've also seen it within the hard left members of my own family (including towards myself on occasions).

The hard left are neither nice nor fair and only believe in fairness and democracy for people who think the same as them.

I'd hate to have to say I told you so to all the Corbyn-ites on this forum....but watch this space. The scales will hopefully fall from their eyes eventually.

You calling me a liar ......if so prove it! I was there and in case it escaped your notice the appeal hearing was yesterday so post Jan. members were allowed to vote in the nomination meeting I attended on Thursday night!

Your experience may be different to mine... but mine was real and I've reported it exactly as it happened.

I've defended Corbyn in the past ......look at my posting history! I hated the media campaign against him and thought he should at least be given the chance because of his mandate but I was wrong, totally wrong and am prepared to say it. He is a disaster of a leader who has no control of his brief and is too arrogant to see it. He has bought into the adulation of his acolytes and cares nothing for the future of the Labour Party!

Clearly some people have a problem understanding what 'Labour polling deficit stands at 13% - TNS poll' actually means.:)

I'm Labour always have been, we have suffered over the years from entryism from the hard left and we are experiencing it now. The tories had similar issues but then UKIP provided a vehicle for the extremist hate mongers instead so they left. If you look at the background of the candidates for the UKIP leadership....I think at least three were ex tory councillors who were expelled or left the party because of their extreme views. We are now going through the same thing in the Labour Party.
